Enjoy the flight! - Hry
This is one of the few channels where I hit like before even watching the video. Always excellent content very professionally presented and edited.
Could not agree more!
Same here 🎉
I did the very same thing! 🫢😁
Just slammed on the 👍🏼 (like a speed-brake on 'the loop'), BEFORE watching the flight. 😉😂
+1 🙂
Very nice. The Mach Loop was described with the precision of Jackie Stewart narrating a lap of the Nurburgring.
Jackie Stewart has dementia
That was a GREAT circuit for that flight. You really spoil us, all of your videos have very appropriate intros and final flight seconds. This jet has a Value Coefficient of 10. It works and it's FREE! !! !!!
Valley was opened during WW2 as a diversion/refuelling station for American aircraft crossing the Atlantic. It was picked as it was rarely fogged in. It was said the average wind speed at VAL was Force 8! Mona predates VAL. It was originally an airship station for the fledgling Royal Navy Air Service. American and RAF WW2 crews had to be careful of Holyhead Mountain as its right on the approach for 13. Sadly, a number of crews crash on the mountain, and there is a memorial of a B25 Mitchell's propeller dedicated to their memory on the mountain.
Lots of fun! A big heavy aircraft the Phantom. Fella with the cubicle next to mine back in the '90s flew them in Vietnam. He did have stories to tell..
once in a international mil wargame with a RAF pilot of this era; who flew many airframes; when asked what was best to pilot - without hesitation - said the F4 - noting the extraordinary acceleration and power as awe inspiring
A truly iconic aeroplane. During the US/Vietnam war they called it "The World’s Leading Distributor of MiG Parts”.
Awesome, thanks for the review 🙏
Milviz 🤙
Fantastic job and the running commentary is spot on, thank you Sir…
Always brilliant videos. Informative, entertaining, and high production values. Thankyou so much sir! Much appreciated.
Excellent flying, I wouldn't want to put it down on a carrier!
Many thanx for this👍 I grew up watching these flying over my village 👋
My absolute pleasure, DeeQ! I’m really glad you enjoyed the video and that it brought back some nice memories : )
Cheers and all the best!
NICE LANDING. good looking F4 MODEL..
That smoke trail proved deadly for the crew during the peak of the VN war.
Wow!!! Your videos are ALWAYS sooooo good! You have a remarkable talent for producing informative, entertaining and enticing videos... and then you say they're not tutorials??? Sir, they most definitely are... You have a flare for showcasing dramatic aerial photography... it just keeps me coming back for more. I could only hope to achieve your level of video production one day!!! Great stuff, thank you!!! 👍 🎞📽😄
Thank you for another great presentation....Very entertaining...Roger..
Pembrokeshire..
I imagine that a Phantom making a low pass over one's head at mach 1, would be quite exhilarating. Once you recovered.
It looks much better (visually) than the DC Designs F-4. I do like flying it, though, waiting for Blackbird or Heatblur. The one in this video isn't an option because I am on Xbox. The F-4 is a favourite for me since childhood.
Nice landing, by the way! This video depicts a perfect flight in a Royal Navy Phantom!
As ever a great video to watch. Great to see the F4 in the Mach Loop...Nice carrier landing on the Constellation too...I need to practice more..🫣
You know what CAN much more than just "hold a candle" to the DCS Phantom? The Advanced version of the same Phantoms pack from MilViz. Also 100% free, but alas you can only have it in FSX or P3D flavor. Still 100% worth it if you are even slighting into proper flight dynamics.
In fact, the Air Force didn’t get the F4J until after the Falklands war to substitute 23 squadron aircraft that were down in the Falkland Islands so they didn’t even have that colour scheme under that type of
We were trained to always follow the centerline on take off and landing.
Nice landing. 👍
Many thanks, sir! : )
That’s an FGR2 ‘Treble-One’ Squadron colour scheme that was never anywhere near an F4-J 🤷🏻♂️
Hi Olly,
I think the Devs just added extra paint schemes, for the sake of user interest. As a couple of other viewers pointed out, it seems model adjustments have been made to this “F4J” mod, in order to make this particular variant look more like an FGR2 (the modelling of the tail being one example).
All the best!
I can never seem to fly the loop correctly, do you have a flight plan for this?
Wow! Thank you for the Info and the great video! Best regards dear ITBS!
That was A GREAAT FLIGHT A GREAT FLIGHT
Great vid. Why the snow in June?
Have you ever been to Wales? RAF Valley can have four seasons before lunchtime🤣
Awesome but free means no Xbox release!!! Because the marketplace is allergic to free products
It looks really good except that it is an FG1 with J79's fitted?🤔
Brilliant!!!!!
Thanks very much, Timothy - I’m really glad you enjoyed the video! Cheers and all the best : )
111 Sqn never had the F4J, only F4K which were ex Royal Navy Phantoms.
Only 74 (Tiger) Squadron ( 'I Fear no man') were the only F-4J 's (updated to S standard) to operate in the UK. Its somewhat fitting that the flight is from EGOV as it is the current home of the Tigers, which is now an OCU Squadron (flying Hawks).
74 Sqn disbanded in September 2000 and is no longer active.
Yeah, 420 knots. I see what you did there, don't try to deny it 😉
Haha! How did I know that someone would bring that up. . . : P
All the best!
hey whats that opening music?
It seems as if there is and stays a kind of protection cover at the top of the tail and rudder. I searched in pictures at Google for this aircraft, but I could not find a picture of a version with that kind of tail top. Is this a special version?
Hi Bstikkel,
I believe, the fin modification you’re referring to, is to house an RWR (Radar Warning Receiver) on certain variants of the F4 (more accurately, the aircraft demonstrated in this video appears to be an FGR2 Phantom, as opposed to the F4J designation of the mod itself).
I hope that clarifies things a little. All the best! : )
Thank you for your explanation.
I know essentially zero about naval aviation. But I thought that the carrier's angled runway is for landing, and the fore-and-aft one is for take-off? Or is that only in some particular circumstance? Would somebody please illuminate me?
Hello Ron,
I’m no expert myself but, I believe you’re correct. Depending on the carrier, the catapults are located on the foredeck and the “angled runway” (with arrestor gear) is used for landing. I did use the “angled runway” for my landing, in this video (though perhaps, that wasn’t immediately apparent, given the layout of the carrier).
I hope that clarifies things a little. All the best! : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Oh yes, now I see that you did! I need do do some vector sums to figure out why the landing runway does not seen to track to the right on approach. It might help if the carrier had a wake.
Much gratitude for the reply!
Can one tell me how is it that camera is moving as if it is on top of a pilots helmet
Hi Abdulla,
I’m using a head-tracking device called "TrackIR" for the camera movements. It's great, although a little pricey. There are cheaper / freeware alternatives available though, should you wish to give it a go for yourself : )
I hope that helps. All the best!
goooood morning VIETNAMMM
Why dies f4j cockpit look older than the f4e
Great video and it's great to see that we're still getting quality free aircraft.
I have a favour to ask I thee any way you can do a video to draw up the mac loop on the in house msfs map, so we can replace the mac loop run and then you could exoand this with other instruction videos on the do the northern UK loop and starwars canyon within the USA?
Just a thought.
How does it compare to the F4J compare to DC Designs version?
Just 35mins ago, I watched AvAngel's, 'First Look & Review'. It was "fun" and "an icon", but has poor visuals (looked more FSX than this) and System Modelling was definitely lacking. I'll save my £30, for something else/better!
Typical.
Thanks for the review, looks awesome so much better than many payware stuff.
Can you share that route please sir?
As cool as this version of the Phantom is, it pales in comparison with the DCS version just released by Heatblur. It’s stunning in its details and how the weapons are modeled
better than dcs...
The first person😊
Jeffrey
When the DC Designs Phantom was released, I held back because I wanted to wait until someone made one with better-looking textures. I'm glad I did, because here it is...!!!
I bought it quick simply because I had been waiting for one ever since I got MSFS, and it's served me well. I am however gonna snag this if it's available on Xbox...m
This look's better then the DC design one
A DCS aircraft requires much more work in order to also model the sensors and weapon systems and combat damage effects.
MILVIZ also did not model an interactive (clickable) cockpit, which Heatblur (DCS F-4E) however did.
Furthermore the F-4J (this) and F-4E (DCS aircraft) are different variants which differ significantly both visually and in terms of systems.
MILVIZ has not done a bad job, with regards to what is possible within MSFS, but it is of a completely different order than the effort Heatblur made with their F-4E module for DCS, which also offers a different modeling sandbox than MSFS.
BTW, the F-14A/B for MSFS is also made by Heatblur, being based on their F-14A/B made for DCS originally.
@@tver Ohh Dear! Unless I'm badly misraken, I think you REALLY misunderstood @Kolinski_s21's post.

IF you had actually watched THIS VIDEO properly, then you would know that this, 'freeware' version, is NOT a Milviz 'release' for MSFS! This is only a 'Native' CONVERSION of the Milviz FSX version, of the F4, where permission was granted WITH RESTRICTIONS on functionality.
Whereas ..., @Kolinski_s21 (like me in an earlier post), was actually referring to the, "DC DESIGN" built version of the F4, which was made specifically for MSFS, which, according to some YT video reviews, isn't too good.
I don't know why some morons get so defensive about "their" favourite Flight Sim. Honestly, is it really THAT important to you, to let everyone know that YOU... have made the best decision and that everyone else is dumb for not doing the same.
TBH, because we all essentially like the same thing, 'Simulated Flying' then I find it all to be, a bit of a 'Total Freak-Show', all the,... DOES IT FU CKING MATTER?... REALLY... ?!
Are you ALL so insecure in your life-choices that you have to squabble about such minor, insignificant bullshit, as to which GAME is best?
May your lives always be so blessed, 'cause God-forbid, if you EVER had to make a choice with REAL consequences!

That’s not an that’s not an F4J It’s an FGR modernised Fin
Hi Ade,
Thanks for the info, you’re indeed correct! I did wonder at the time but 1) I’m not *that* clued up on my phantoms and 2) I figured I’d just stick with the mod designation, thus making it easier for people to find.
Cheers, all the best!
Native conversion is fine and all. Great work. But the sounds are not so much, and are aliased to the old FSX IRIS Raptor Driver, I know it when I hear it because I fly the dang thing all the time in P3D, so I know that very sound pack in the back of my head when I hear it.
Maybe someone could at least make some actual F-4 Phantom sounds for this conversion too in the future.
$75 USD dcs!
and worth every penny. These two are not in the slighest comparable. Check some tutorials for the Heatblur F4 in DCS and see for yourself. Edit: typo
Whether it’s worth that much if subjective. Personally I would never spend that much. It’s overpriced. Around £30 - £40 is my maximum. And there are some amazing options for around that price.
Last time I bought a Milviz product (Pilatus PC-6) when I asked about spin and stall characteristics their official response was "you're not supposed to do that, so it's not simulated"
This is free, and it's the only price Milviz planes are worth. Keep that in mind. They're toys.
Stop being such a whiny bitch!
This aircraft is NOT a Milviz release for MSFS. It's a 'native' CONVERSION, by a third-party (a big THANK-YOU to Aviator671), who made it with Milviz/Blackbird's permission, but with limited functionality as a condition of release. But then YOU would know all this, IF you'd really watched this video properly.
GOD!!! I just really can't stand dumbasses, who spout shite, because they have the attention span of a goldfish and belief in their own impotence (Nope! ... not a spelling mistake!) 🤣
Anyway, WHY do we have to hear your drivel & know about your prejudicial views? Have these views, by all means, but please, keep them to yourself and DON'T spout them to us, if they don't actually ADD something positive to the conversation.
Also, please just STOP being hateful & spiteful, in general, and instead just be thankful for the effort and generosity of your fellow simmers, who give their time and skills to bring add-ons that are this good, and FREE, to the sim world.
Again, a huge THANKS, to Aviator671 for their effort, skill & time and also to Milviz/Blackbird for their permission in allowing the conversion.
I am quite happy with their Cessna 310-R.
@@dillank3240 I'd be "happy" with my PC-6 too if it didn't cost me $30. I could have bought a full fidelity DCS module for that amount of money. They look good, but anything past that? Nothing.
thats not an F-4J by the way. How embarrassing
You’re correct, Shane: The mod is designated as an F-4J so, naturally I ended up referring to it as such (and I’m not *that* clued up on my Phantoms, that I was in any position to state otherwise).
With regards to embarrassment - I’m not going to be losing any sleep over it haha XD
Cheers for the info. All the best
