I drive a 2011 A8 , took it in for service at Audi and they pushed me to test out one of these a few years ago and it was butter smooth and nimble. Perfect.

Never Audi for me....if I'd go for a VAG product it would be Skoda or Seat.....just the same platform and technique, but without the EUR 30k waist of money for that Audit badge, including the shiny black trim and a touch screen that is marketed as 'high tech' but is just a cost saver....If you love driving, never go FrAudi...
Wouter Van Es If you say an Audi is almost the same as an Skoda, then you have never driven one. And people who buys these cars doesn’t care about the price.
I drove just normal Audi's...but did not like the drivetrain. It is just too middle of the road. Steering feel is vague, transmission is not as sharp as in a Merc or BMW. You drive the RS6 I suppose (?), I think that is a different car compared to other VAG products, together with the RS3....but those are very expensive.

Typical German pricing policy. You have to pay at least 2/3 of the base price for the options to make it feel premium, otherwise you get a Dacia with a fancy badge.

The worst between the 3 is BMW. At entry level you get Honda seats inside your 3 series. Germans make the most beautiful and quietest luxury cars but their prices are becoming ridiculous because of their huge popularity. Stick to Japanese luxuries sometime they are even better.
Here in Canada Audi A7 starting price is 88K$. ENTRY price!!! That means you get nothing but basic stuff hardly luxurious but still better than A3 and A4 which get even less options than Hyundai at 1/3 of the price.

Smoos54 The worst of the three for me is by far Audi, because for 80k you can get luxurious Mercedes and BMW cars (by luxurious I mean full quality leather interior with alcantara or microfiber roof and high quality speakers), but not with Audi, you can’t have an alcantara or microfiber roof, which really kills it for me, the 3 series can’t be compared to the A7-A8 or 5-7 series because it is a joke as it always was it’s just an excuse to sell cars that look like an M3 which itself is (or was, as it’s now replaced by the M2) a very good first toy to offer to our children but it’s nowhere near to be luxurious because it’s not meant to be, on the track an M2 competition has the same performance as an M5 and is even more practical, but the M5 is actually the luxurious « perfect/polyvalent » version of their sportscar and can reach a slightly higher top speed.
Also BMW uses high quality smooth leather almost everywhere even on the doors inside their high end cars while in Audis they use plastic or low quality leather that feels like plastic (maybe it’s fake leather I don’t know exactly) but it’s common in the VW group, Porsche also use low quality leather for the doors (as it’s a place not meant to be touched), and Lamborghini uses low quality leather on the dashboard of the Huracans while they use the high quality leather for the steering wheel and seats (they use high quality leather for Aventador dashboards tho).
The best alternative ? You’ve already said it, Japanese luxury cars they’re near perfect when it comes to the materials and finitions, American luxury cars have very good interiors too but they are nearly impossible to find in Europe and the fuel consumption is too high for European standards most people looking for luxury cars want something that can be driven a lot before refueling so they mostly buy diesel cars.

Audi became crazy.. The new A1 for 41k, an A7 with ~260hp for 140k. Why should anyone buy this instead of a much faster Panamera or S-Class?
These are Dutch prices mate and it's fully loaded. A highly specced S-class or panamera costs even more here..

@@user-jf8gd3lv7q Warum denn gleich so aggressiv? Mag sein dass die Preise etwas anders sind, aber konfigurier dir doch mal einen halbwegs gut ausgestatteten A1. Da bist du schnell bei 30k und für die 200ps Version sind die 41k der deutsche Preis. Ich mag Audi und Preise wie die vom bspw A5 finde ich völlig in Ordnung, aber 41k für einen gut motorisierten Kleinwagen würde ich persönlich nicht ausgeben, ebenso wenig für einen A7 der sich nur äußerlich vom A6 unterscheidet und für den man, mir egal mit welcher Ausstattung, einen Panamera fahren kann.

Just want you to know I really enjoy your reviews. As for price, MB, BMW & Audi are all guilty of charging really steep prices for all the options & packages, many of which should really be standard on these top end models. I agree the car looks absolutely gorgeous & fabulous. Not really a diesel fan myself and really disappointed to see Audi has just announced the latest S7 with yet another TDi engine for the EU markets. A car that looks like this, and costs so bloody much should have a bi-turbo V8 petrol engine, in my humble opinion. Great review and hope to see more of your reviews in the future. I am a fan!

Drove the A6 50TDI fully specced from Sixt. It was a nice experience on the autobahn and swiss alps.
Didn't u realize the turbo lag? Had the a6 two weeks ago and the turbo lag was significant.

Leonard Martin Is that actually a ‘weakness’ of their motoring design or do they do that intentionally? My father’s 2016 Range Rover has that lag too which he was told was built in on purpose to protect the engine from sudden accelerations. I have to assume Audi does something similar. The performance cars obviously don’t have that lag as they are built for this purpose.
@@drsparwaga No, actually it's a weakness. Even audi engineers are aware that the lag is too big. I tell you, it really, was over 1 second of delay. It was pretty annoying, because you kinda have to calculate, so you accelerate earlier than usually to have the power later.

these cars are for the rich, not for minum wage workers.
12k in Spain is maximum in Serbia so there are people which get about 3-4k per year
there is a pay gap here in the Netherlands, cars are very expensive here as well as insurance and taxes , that is why many dutch people go with small cars (hatchbacks).

Had the a6 with the diesel v6 two weeks ago. It was nice but not outstanding. The worst was the huuuge turbo lag, like around 1 second till the power kicks in. That's not a good engine at all. And in the corners it understeered quite heavily. It just felt heavy... But it's good for the autobahn at least

In the Netherlands this car is much more expensive than in Germany. Here we would pay around 100000.
In the UK the A7 starts from £48,000 which is only €55,000. However in Netherlands the car is so much more expensive !

145k for this is insane. It's still going to achieve so many kilometers though... Should easily get 400k km's

I would love that car too, but it's so absurdly priced it's a no-go for me.
€144,000 = £123,500 and baring in mind the RS7 Vorsprung edition starts at £116,000 so while in Netherlands you can buy a A7 TDI V6 3.0TDi, here in the UK you can buy a RS7 Vorsprung Edition which has 600ps/hp 4.0TFSI engine that not only pulls so quickly but sounds great too all for £7.5k cheaper as well.

I agree that it’s expensive, but as he said cars are really expensive in Holland and have a 25% tax included in the price. The 88k starting price is therefore actually 66k which I find very reasonable for a car like this

in turkey the car prices is extremely high looks like europe countries will catch us in the future. if a car is expensive in europe i can't even imagine how expensive will be in Turkey.
