I think Phineas should've went harder on Candace by calling out her deliberate snitching as much as her accidental recklessness. He calls her out for destroying his plans, yet doesn't for potentially endangering future plans. Something like "you may think you're being a good daughter, but you're not", or similar to that.

My favorite thing about Crossover Nexus is how it doesn’t discriminate against any era of CN. It would’ve been so easy for them to just use CN City and leave it at that since it’s everyone’s favorite era. But no, they included the Noods and Golly Gopher too which shows how much research they did.

I think what gets me the most with the uncle grandpa crossover is the fact Steven really liked Uncle Grandpa because he had such little family but then meets a guy called UNCLE GRABDPA I can’t imagine the excitement he felt 😭
It is interesting that Mr Gus's statements about Steven's gem being tied to his emotional state proved to be accurate and happened to have implications all the way into SU future. Steven even polishes his gem a few times. For a non canon episode it has a surprisingly long lasting impact.
Also, UG said Steven should polish it twice a year. Which is not something you do with Quartzes - but you do do it to Diamonds.

I've always been a Say Uncle apologist, honestly. Sure, SU was a serious show, but it's always had goofiness in its DNA. Hell, Season 1A is *packed* with goofy moments throughout, and it's great!
Plus, the whole joke of the episode is that it's an April Fools "prank" to the SU fandom. The fact that the crossover was with UG instead of AT (which fans DESPERATELY wanted a crossover with), UG sinking Lars and Sadie's ship, implying that Steven isn't a Quartz (he said that Steven should polish his gem twice a year - which you shouldn't do with Rose Quartzes, but with DIAMONDS.), messing around with the Gems... The whole episode is a joke that was missed by SO many people, man.
It's great. I genuinely adore it, and am still mad that there's so many people slinging mud at it.
Also, a Jessie takeover on Club Penguin would've fit in just alright. Most people in the community probably wouldn't like it (like with all other crossovers, aside from the first Marvel one lol), but it'd still happen.

The Jimmy-Timmy Power Hour and the KND-Billy & Mandy crossovers were appointment television growing up, and it was nice to see another reminder of how great those crossovers were. I love seeing the Eds cameo in the latter special, too. I also wasn't the biggest fan of the Flintstones-Jetson Crossover. I always preferred the Flintstones much more than the Jetsons.

I think sometimes people forget that even in its own show, KND took time to point out that they were still kinda just dumb kids. So it made total sense to me that they all kinda just fell for it.

I didn't realize this, but Ian Jones-Quartey was the artist who wrote/drew the webcomic RPG World, which went on hiatus forever ago (2007?! Fuck I'm old). And apparently made a whole OK KO episode focusing on the main character from that series and ended it via the cartoon. Wild.
The dude is also old friends with Ian Flynn, the current writer and lore consultant for the Sonic games. They apparently used to chat on the forums of some old Sonic website beck in the late ‘90s-early 2000s.
I watched OK KO for like, the first time a week ago and this is genuinely insane. what a power move. that’s hilarious. good for him
Remember when people used that Flintstones x Jetsons movie to prove the Flintstones were living in a post-apocalyptic future? Good times.
Say Uncle came at a time when many SU fans felt as though they were drip fed the plot. I was happy with any episode that may have felt as though it were “filler”, because the character development seemed to hold over. But I’d be lying if I said those episodes fell a little flat for me. But I respected it for the “gemsona” joke alone, and recognized it as a love letter to Uncle Grandpa.

I liked Hugh Neutron as a kid, but as a adult he's my favorite character in Jimmy neutron. I remember Pausing just cause I was dieing at the mighty mom Scene, and how Hugh was 100% into it. Judy definitely has a Duck themed playboy outfit.

I agree about the marketing of those Cartoon Network commercials where the whole city is full of different eras of cartoon characters! It just scratched something in my brain in a really happy way, to see the world of Foster’s imaginary friends hang out with the cast of Cow and Chicken… or see Shaggy and Scooby order a giant rack of dino ribs from that place where Fred Flinstone gets his dino ribs.
I loved Uncle Grandpa, man. Like sometimes you just want a goofy AF show to make you laugh. And I'm still jazzed that crossover happened.
One of the best crossovers to date will forever be the original Generator Rex/ Ben 10 crossover.

I knew Crossover Nexus was truly going in when I noticed one of the statues was of FIREBREATHER, a backdoor pilot CG movie adapted from an Image comic that I am convinced was aired no more than three times ever.
I KNEW THAT WAS WHO THAT WAS! I thought was crazy. I even gaslit myself into thinking Firebreather aired on Jetix or something
I am still pissed disney did nothing with the fact gravity falls, amphibia and the owl all do dimitional stuff for a crossovers between them.
Also all three are on the same Earth. Explicitly. Anne's missing poster in The Owl House AND Eda was Stan Pines' Marilyn. Old school Disney TV lazily put Recess in Lilo & Stitch: The Series without aging up the characters. And, on that topic...guys. If this is maybe going to be the last time Disney will let anyone do anything with the Recess characters? Seeing them as 10th graders (explicitly marking Recess as entirely set around 1996/1997 and Lilo & Stitch: The Series as set in 2002/2003) would have been cool. A bit more work, but worth it.

Ok, I won't deny that Flintstones and Jetsons really kinda runs a little long. Felt like they were really trying to fill the timeslot.
Even Yogi Bear had a brief cameo in The Flintstones, the closest thing I can remember to any sort of crossover between those properties.
But yeah I still fondly remember The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones since I saw it as a kid.

Yea, I kinda wish they gave this the animated feature treatment instead of Jetsons the Movie just polish the script a bit, don't replace Janet Waldo (Judy Jetsons og voice actress) with Tiffany (even though the ost still slaps). I mean a theatrical animated crossover would have been epic. Still, I do have fond memories of the HB tv movies (outside of the 3 Scooby Doo ones that came out around that time) I'm glad they ended up on Blu-ray I might pick me up a copy sometime. Though, this doesn't make me cringe like Simpsons Guy.

As someone who shipped Lars and Sadie when they were younger I remember my feelings being HURT by that "our ship is sinking" joke lmao 😂. Aside from that tho I thought the rest of "Say Uncle" was funny and rewatched it a good number of times... until I saw the internet despised it and proceeded to completely change my mind cause I was an impressionable kid 😅. I appreciate the perspective you brought up tho about people who genuinely enjoy "unpopular" cartoons without a care in the world. It was really refreshing to hear a take that unfortunately still rings true today said out loud (especially when it comes to shows mainly aimed at children), and I'm glad I grew out of my phase cause it's so much more fun enjoying different shows for what they are

The OK KO crossover is one of my favorites. I wish it was longer but I think they nailed the different characters. Also, Flintstones and Jetsons is a meme to me, feels like someone’s favorite but it’s alright
56:52 - Nah. The Flintstones/Jetsons crossover is definitely a product of its time. While some media from back then definitely holds up better than others, most people seem to forget that the ‘80s were a very conservative time period. So much media was played safe that something as quaint as the first season of “The Simpsons” was considered way too edgy for TV. It just illustrates that times really do change, even within 35 years.

The Jetsons & Flintstones crossover was actually one in a series of 10 tv movies Hanna-Barbera made based of their shows. It’s where those pre-90’s Scooby-Doo movies come from. All of them are about as lackluster as the crossover special and I’m honestly not sure why they didn’t make them 45 minutes as opposed to 90 minutes. But given the state of the company at the time I’m not sure if they knew either.
Jetsons meet the Flintstones was my jam. The writing isn’t great and the jokes are corny but it’s super nostalgic.

Seeing my favorite shows interact with each other was something I always looked forward to. It's a shame that crossovers are not as common now. It feels like you had to be there to experience it
Love how y’all went from a crossover special that was cut short, but had enough ideas and content to potentially fill a movie’s length of an episode, to a crossover special that was 90 minutes long and struggled to fill the runtime with its premise.
