I actually got to work on this movie with these ladies. It was so much fun. I trained the skaters and helped choreograph stunts. Drew is as cool as you'd hope she would be. I have a daughter now, and she's old enough for me to share this with her. I'm excited.

This is one of my all-time favorite movies. Sometimes I forget how much I love it and then I watch this trailer again or it comes up in conversation or something and I remember how AMAZING this movie makes me feel. (Plus, Ellen Page is a babe.)

Drew Barrymore directed one masterpiece and decided that was enough. Regrettable, but respectable.
This movie made me want to join derby for such a long time! After years of hesitation I'm currently waiting for my first skates throught the mail, I can't wait to put them on and fall facefirst a couple of times 💙💚

Drew's laugh at 1:17 is one of my favorite parts of the entire movie. I secretly wish she didn't direct it so we could have seen more of Smashley. She was hysterical!

I loved this movie! the script was great, the acting gold, the scene edits ~GAH underwater kiss~ I fell in love with the characters and the story. A+

I searched for this to see my friend's face again. She was Drew's stunt double in the movie. She's also the first Roller Girl you see skating into the store with flyers.
She passed away this week and there's a big ol Texas-sized hole in Austin's heart since she left us. Her name was Chloe and she was a LEGEND. She was so excited about doing this movie.
I came after seeing on Instagram that she’s passed away. That scene was burned in my mind from seeing this movie in my late teens because I thought those girls were SO cool. I joined roller derby and played for a while.

Oh that’s so sad!!! This movie made such an impact on me as a young girl, living in Texas, and being into indie films. I am just glad that her memory will live on because of how active she was within her own community in Austin, and by being able to show that through this movie. RIP!

Saw it tonight here in Chicago. Proud to say one of my dear friends is a skater in the film. As a retired roller derby skater, I can say it's a great flim. Drew really captured the essence of what it's like to be a derby girl.

I've heard from quite a few skaters that derby was more like that in the mid-2000s (I skate with Minnesota RollerGirls' rec league and have heard a lot about how rowdy and aggressive MNRG was in the early days). But these days? Yeah. SO MANY GROSS MISCONDUCT PENALTIES.

Totally predictable story (awkward dork becomes cool, empowered sk8r girrrl) but is so well done with a great cast that it's still a hugely enjoyable film.
It doesn't spoil all of the good jokes and sad parts.

Good film. Ellen Page has 'come out' of the 'closet' apparently. I don't have a 'closet' I have a built-in 'wardrobe'. In which I keep Christmas decorations and other such 'sundries'.
ellen page was such a cutie in this. I miss her and I am sad we won't get to see her turn into a beautiful woman.

An extremely generic and sanitized take on roller derby and teenage growing pains. Everything in this movie is so safe and predictable, it's hard to believe it's a Searchlight film. Was expecting something so much more.
To be fair, its like the first roller derby film? so the studio was already taking a risk
