This is my cousin, Joanie. I was 16 in 1965. She was 24.

Was Joanie close with Joan Crawford? In this full episode of Hollywood Palace, Crawford says that Sommers is her favorite singer and Sommers also did the Pepsi commercials. And it seemed like Crawford was maybe trying to play matchmaker with her godson Jack Jones and Joanie Sommers in this episode. I think Joanie has a fantastic singing voice. I found out about her when I came across this episode of The Hollywood Palace. Truly a remarkable talent. I wish we had more music like this today.

No tattoos, autotune, naked people onstage dancing! Just pure talent with a 'REAL' band backing her up.

And four very energetic dancers who seemed to be looking for their big break in show biz.

Love the dancers! I remember this era. So good to revisit and see adults dressed & groomed like adults. Today it's all baggy tee shirts, billowing shorts, ratty blue jeans, ugly sneakers and unambitious, Morticia Addams hairdos. 1965, we never knew how good you were til you were gone!

Can you imagine Joan Crawford introducing one of today's rap singers?? That's how far music has fallen since then.

Fallen is good way to put it. The people running the recording industry today have incredibly poor taste.

    You got my vote.

We've never heard of her before.
    She's absolutely brilliant fantastic.
She was singing a Beatles medley with
    Frankie Avalon and Barbara McNair.
p.s. That tall dancer is so very handsome.

Joan was on the board of Pepsi Cola and a stock-holder. Joanie was famous for her Pepsi commercials on radio and television.

Joan Crawford is wicked nice to this girl.
There is a channel on CZcams, whereby the channel creator woman, proves, without a doubt, that Joan Crawford is a male to female transexuel.
      I question this analysis.
      What about that one?

TY for the upload, an uptempo version, a good try, but I much prefer Jerry Vale's more meaningful interpretation.

The way composer Meredith Wilson intended for the song to be heard. czcams.com/video/JLDsLeVxOaU/video.html .. A beautiful rendition with respect for the composer original czcams.com/video/kRc0p6qXwwk/video.html .. Joanie had a good voice no doubt but this is just a "tawdry" rendition and you are correct in my humble opinion. There were many who did this crap in this era "nothing personal to Joanie" and to me, mores the pity.

Not "worst," only "different." She was a voice from another generation, another time. She epitomized the entire youth movement of the 1960's.

Agree! That music arrangement is terrible, excessive, brash, and not at all complimentary to the vocalist. :((. Love her voice, though.
