  • This is a super no end way of doing handbag straps.
    In the video I've used the following to make a 1" wide strap;
    Tan faux leather- 34" x 2"
    Floral cotton- 28" x 2"
    You'll also need connector tabs- see specific pattern for measurements
    This pattern is a Crafted by Leanne video

    I saw this strap used in a bag making group. I asked the maker how it was done and she gave a pretty good description, but having a video is priceless!! Thank you very much.

    Simply amazing! No ugly fold overs, and no struggling with a domestic machine to get over all those layers. Wow.

    I love these straps - they look so professional. I do find it easier to assemble the connectors first and then add them to the strap as per the video.

    I have been hunting for this video and kept overlooking it. Finally! I love this method. Anytime I can connect two fabrics on the bias I am Happy Happy. I hate the bulk created by sewing straight across. Thank you so much for making this video.

      It’s easy to do this with a crossbody strap. Make the strap first, as per the video, but add a slider by its centre bar instead of one of the rings. You can then thread the second ring on by passing the short side of the first ring through it - it’s a bit of a squeeze but it will go. Move the loose ring down near the slider, then thread the first ring through the slider sideways, one side at a time. Again, it’s a bit of a fiddle but it’ll go through. You’ll then have a standard adjustable strap with a ring hanging from the looped part. Attach to the bag as normal. I find it easier to add the connectors to the rings before I start making the strap.

      Handiann, I came here because I love this tutorial and I was going to ask in the Facebook group how to do it with a slider. You are a mind reader! Thank you so much.

    I've seen a few variations of this type. I just did one similar but with a straight connection. I really really really like you angled version and will be doing that in my next shoulder bag.

    Could this method be made for an adjustable strap with a slider?

    • @craftedbyleanne1549
      @craftedbyleanne1549  Před 10 měsíci +1

      It could yes, you need to piece the straps first so they were long enough

    Hi Leanne. Is there a way to make an adjustable cross body strap using this method?

    • @craftedbyleanne1549
      @craftedbyleanne1549  Před 2 lety

      Absolutely you could if you made the pieces long enough, just make sure the one strap piece is longer than the other to get the folds
