He also doesn't use oversaturated, flashy, obnoxious humor appealing to the lowest common denominator. He has a couple silly vids but nowhere near as in your face as what we associate with pewdiepie.
he just makes concise, well produced, informative vids and got a over a hundred thousand well-earned subs from it. which, is absolutely nothing to sneeze at.
