How to Install a Backup Camera In a BMW Z4 E89 (BimmerTech MMI Rear View Camera)

BimmerTech's MMI Rear View Camera is specifically designed for BMWs. Giving a clear, high-quality picture on your factory iDrive screen (so there's no need for a second screen cluttering up your dash), the camera activates automatically when shifting into reverse. In most other BMW models, the camera is mounted in the trunk handle, just above the license plate. Please note that, as the Z4 doesn't have this handle, it's necessary to drill a small hole in the trunk lid to mount the camera. This means that unlike our camera kits for other models, this kit may not be suitable for leased vehicles.

The video shows the drilling of the pilot hole for the camera. It actually requires a 22mm hole (~7/8").
