Too bad I can’t see comments while watching CZcams on a smart tv 😢
Hey man in my farm cats are spawning but iron golem not spawning as fast as it was spawning in your game.. what to do’?
do i need to put a zombie in each of the villager rooms?
@@clutchreal yes
(TIP IF THE GOLEMS KEEP SPAWNING ANYWHERE BUT INSIDE THE PIT) Make a floating block above the center of the pit and place a boat, put a zombie in and give it some shadow, the iron golems will come swarming.
thanks for that!
Also just outside the farm you can put path blocks.
Did that, but they see the zombies, run , and then stop at the edge
@@Itz_Hydronite i placed multpiple zombies on stack, but idk if that helps.
@@Itz_Hydronite Put open trapdoors at the edge! It'll make them go right in
Really concise and well-paced guide. I didn't really have to pause and rewind constantly. This one was quite nice and refreshing after watching other guides where I'd take a second to itch my nose or something and suddenly the entire build is done and I have no idea what happened.
Can I build this in the sky Y above 130?
@@nebs15yes, you just have to get the Y values (relative measurements) correct for the floors, and build the walls 2-3 blocks high on the spawn platform (or use leaves, buttons, etc. to spawn proof)
I noticed that if you use a bamboo raft the zombie's sight line will be too high and the villagers wont get scared, switched to any other boat and it fixed the issue.

I would recommend going 20-25 blocks down because in order for a villager to attempt to summon an iron golem there needs to be none in a certain span of blocks, so the lower you go, the more efficient the farm is.
Instructions unclear: I'm in the void
What do you mean? Like make a chamber 20-ish blocks down? Or make a huge pit?
@@sapphireseal2990he meant 20 blocks down
I created it 100 blocks in the sky, works just as well

Extremely good and useful video thanks
Thanks sm I've been looking for an iron farm for like a week and this is the perfect one.
If you are bringing water in survival, you only need 2 buckets for water. When you get to location, dig a 1x3 hole and fill the ends with water. The middle block will convert to a water block. You can take from that middle block for infinite water. Provides just a little extra room in you inventory if you want to bring other stuff. Also, bringing raw materials saves more space. 36 wool, 60 wood planks will only take 2 slots instead of 16 for the beds and boats. 4 planks for a crafting table, 20 planks for 4 boats, and 36 planks and 36 wool for 12 beds.
@@basicallyeveryone hey, does this iron farm still work for you. I'm playing the latest java edition and have tried doing this farm twice now in creative but I've gotten one iron golem to spawn and thats it. Is my game broken or something?
@@basicallyeveryone I made the adjustments, nothing changed yet. Then I switched it to night time and 2 golems spawned outta nowhere so I'm baffed about that. It works now.
I'm not sure if it was due to the help you gave or maybe this particular farm only works at night. Any which way I'm very appreciative of your help, take care.
@@basicallyeveryone my god I figured it out. turns out while i was testing this farm in creative I turned off the daynightcycle and villagers need to have slept recently for the iron golems to spawn. just in case someone else had that issue.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Or you can make a 2x2 hole and fill opposite corners with water, then every block is infinite water.
I built this farm. Had a few issues that I had to iron out, no pun intended. I flattened an island to build this and had to make sure there was not place for the golem to spawn in the villager pit. I used carpet to achieve this, as per a comment in this video. The drops keep getting stuck though so I reset them and hopefully they will fall into the chest.
you could've intended the pun
For anybody having trouble getting the villagers in the hole you can just place the boat over the hole and break it
Just finished the farm. this is craaaazy how well it works
For those who still can't find the reason it's not working I recommend checking if there is a cave where a golem might've spawned.
You can check it manually or there are a few minimap mods which show you the mobs as icons on a minimap, use that to see if golems are spawning anywhere other than the water pit. For me there was a cave nearby where a golem spawned and I could only find it because I was using minimap mod. I killed it and filled up the cave around 10 blocks around the villagers and it started working again.
Also be careful if you're going to AFK in front of the killing area as zombies or maybe ither mobs can survive the lava and come and kill you.
I was killed by a zombie in that manner so I put glass in front of killing area and now it's all good.
And this is just my opinion but I like using villager in a bucket mod to easily move villagers.
Note - these are not heavy mods and will not affect your fps unless you're on a potato PC.
Pro tip you can also create a 3x3 or bigger border around the 9x9 grid with slabs or other non spawnable blocks! It helped me a lot
tysm
I used leaves 😊
Just right click all the dirt with shovel around the farm
Thank you that's smart!
If the water freezes, put a Magma block under each water source. Good video! 👍👍
You can put see pickle or kelp, sea grass in the water source block also
Side note: If flattening the area is difficult (or at least time consuming), using slabs or carpet around the area can help
Glad i turned on the notifications so i can build this as soon as possible in my new survival world!
plant
thanks its working very nicely!!!
I like your way of teaching us. Thanks
no matter what the iron farm is the hardest part is always to get the villagers and zombies
Seeing some great results in my Survival World. Made the mistake of not building it on a flat so that was a mission.... but still have Golems spawning around the drop chute and not in it. Quick fix was getting another zombie in a boat above the hole and placing trapdoors along the sides to make them track the zombie and fall in. Works mint
Oh and also - Dont give the zombie too much room down there with the boat or the Iron Golem will spawn and whack em
@@jieksunu can put torchs around the boat
THANK YOU
I dont get what you mean by this
@@user-cc6gy3et2e My solution was to put a zombie in a boat about 5 blocks high above the drop chute. Make sure to cover your zombie also!
I then placed trapdoors along the sides of the drop chute and closed them, as it makes the iron golems think there’s a full block there. So they spawn in, track the zombie and fall in because of the trapdoor trick. I had to implement this because my golems were just chilling 🤣
Tip: If you don't want the poppy's in the same chest, fill the first chest with 1 iron in every slot, then get an additional hopper and another 2 chests (or one) then place the hopper underneath the iron chest then place the 2 additional chests underneath that hopper and fill the chest with the poppy's the same way with the iron chest that way you can separate it
great farm works wonders ty
Tip if you are struggling with iron golems spawning where you don't want them to. Fill in all the surround caves with water to stop golem spawning in them. Place a zombie above the trap hole with shade in a boat. Put a large fence around the farm and fill in with torches to avoid any mobs coming close and distracting the golems. My farm wasn't working at all until I tried doing all that now it works a charm
I just put a skeleton up top to kill the ones that escape but your idea may be better
This design could work in bedrock if all the villagers have an occupation and there are 5 villagers in each of the rooms. works decently well :>
i made the modifications it failed
It worked, i built it in my first survival world, it makes a lot of iron, just make sure u place torches in every stair where the zombie come down becus iron golems can glitch spawn there, also try make it far from rivers or like i did, use blocks to turn the river into flat surface.
Worked great for me thank you! It is a little tedious getting the villagers there but i chose a farther location. Also a suggestion, add a whole block ( i used slabs didnt work) to the roof where the zombie is and fill in the stair way down. The iron golems manage to spawn in there and kill the zombie!
I had one problem: the zombies in the boats could reach my villagers. I lost 8 villagers, so my tip is: make the zombie place 3x3 and place the boat almost right under the stair
Good idea’
Solved a huge issue for me with that tip. Thanks!
Can also use honey blocks to prevent the zombie from jumping up or moving around
The farm works but im not getting the same drops as you. i have spawn proffed the area above and caves nearby but still not getting that many golems spawning?
Great job on the build
Thank you so much for this, it's a huge help! Also: I didn't have any lava nearby, so I used campfires instead. They take a little longer to kill the golem, but they're easier to get a hand on.
Guys I found I good way to stop iron golems spawning outside all I did was build a chamber with a zombie inside above the middle
i´d recommend carpeting the inside of the villager rooms. i had a couple iron golems spawn inside of them and kill the zombies, and didn´t notice for about an hour or so.
Or put torches in open spaces. I put torches on every block of the zombie room so nothing even golems can spawn there. Torches don't effect anything other than the spawning while carpeting could mess with line of sight. But I assume it didn't for you
The farm works perfectly, well explained thank you :)
Doesn't work
OMG TYSM SO MUCH THIS WILL HELP VERY MUCH!!!!
So is it actually a total of 8 blocks down? like 7 blocks down from the first? cause I built it down 7 blocks and golems still spawn on the flat area
It's a total of 7 blocks down

Tysm! it works well
can i just spawnproof everything around the farm with buttons to prevent them from spawning up there?
yeah!
The iron golems were spawning up there so i covered of in buttons
Thx JWhisp, this really works super well…👏🏻
Of course!
@@whispy_ hello I’m making this in a server thanks for the help
If you get golems to spawn in the zombie space, just put fences around the boat. As in, you should have 4 fences in total, 2 far left and 2 far right, then just make sure the boat is pushed up against the wall so that the zombie can't hit the villagers, and the iron golem can't spawn on the fences.
Pro tip if u build on a mountain that spawn proof all of the sides that are close to the farm so that the iron golems spawn in the trap
I already tried 2 iron farm yet none of them works on our server I don't why It doesn't work even if I follow all of
the steps correctly kinda makes me pissed and sad

Check if your villagers are actually getting scared. It's possible the boat was too close and they were killed by the zombie. Or maybe the boat is placed in a suboptimal way that causes the villagers to only be scared if they stand in a very specific spot
@@nieuwenaam233 what is the specific spot that causes them to be scared
@@aidangeorge7012 When I place my boat (I'm on 1.20.4) I try put but it as central as possible in the 2x3 space there is left in the hole. When I check the villagers at night and they aren't scared, I hop in the boat with the zombie and try to tilt it a bit and then get out and check if the villagers are waking up now.
Make sure when you exit the boat that you are looking as far as you can behind you, otherwise you will spawn under the trapdoor or the slabs you placed in front of the boat and the zombie might kill you if you are too slow :) Also don't forget, the villagers must have slept in the beds at least once before you place a zombie in the boat!
@@nieuwenaam233 that last thing might be my problem lmfao oops. appreciate it brodie
I spent over an hour doing this (did it on a hill and a creeper blew it up the first time) and was just reading the comments, "does not work on bedrock" i'm going to riot !! great video though, made it real easy to follow
I built this farm and ran it for an hour on hard difficulty. Output was 553 iron ingots. Very respectable, but not the 1450 promised in the title. My guess is the title has extrapolated from running the farm overnight, i.e. not taking into account the day-night cycle.
By the way, tip for anyone running into golems spawning outside the pool: the spawning algorithm checks six blocks up from where the beds are, which is why you dig down six blocks. It checks eight blocks horizontally, so all terrain around the pool inside eight blocks from any bed MUST be above the pool level (i.e. more than six blocks above the beds).
I just spent 3 hours making this and it doesn't work 😭😭😭

@@bluesamurai9302 what ??
I like the design it was easy to set up! However im “only” getting around 700/hour. Ive filled in some caves with slabs but is there an easy way to check if the golems are spawning somewhere they shouldnt be? - I just have a few beacons id like to set up so it would be nice to get the 1300+ per hour
id recommend using freecam frm litematica or the freecam mod
Golems spawn on a 20-30 second cycle, so counting the number of golems in a few minutes will tell you if one is missing
how far away (from the center of the lava) can the golems spawn in this farm. im building this over water sooo i need to make a platform.@@carlograbielbutler
You need to dig down 30 blocks, and you should get about 1100 per hour. Not sure why they said you can dig down only 15 blocks then said that it does 150 more iron then the og design.
@@bigbooty17dog what down 30 blocks? The golem fall hole or the villagers?
Thanks dawg
Bro thank you very much you are the best
I'm kinda confused because I followed stp by step and the golems are spawning outside of the farm and not a single one has been in the water nor the lava
Edit: I tried covering the entire area in slabs and it still didn't work
Did you figure it out? Some where saying not to use bamboo boats as the sight like for the zombies is slightly to low
same problem, whats the fix?
@@LiGHTA77 I ended doing everything in the video plus digging the golem hole down 30 blocks. Make sure there is barely any room for the boated zombies. Leave him in 2x2x2 room. Fill in the stairs. But ultimately I slabbed out from the hole like 15slabs out around the entire hole. Surrounded it with slabs. And it works perfectly now. Tons of iron
Try to make grass blocks with path block.
Make sure the slabs are bottom slabs, otherwise it won't matter.
Ive spent 50 hours on this farm now.
Theres about 7 chunks of flat land around the farm.
Villagers kept dying so did the zombies.
I spent hours trying to replace and breed them.
Made sure all villagers and slept because no iron golems were spawning. To do this i had to move all the zombies and edit the holes so the villagers couldnt see them. Then i had to remake the holes and make sure all villagers were in panic mode and couldnt sleep. In the end it does work not a single golem has spawned and i forced to accept that i should have just moved on to a better tutorial.
Also im using java so hopefully thats not the problem. 50 hours wasted i think im done with iron farms for now
Is the trenches 7 blocks down from the dug trench making it 8 deep from the surface or is it 6 deep from the trench making it 7 deep?
Can’t wait to build this in my new world
It worked first, but then the iron golems stopped spawning.
The Villagers where all sleeping but they still don't spawn.
If they are sleeping somethings wrong
sameeee whats the fix
same problem here
Fixed it just go 7 blocks deep on the villagers room instead of 6 which is shown in a Lil confusing manner in the video and kill all the zombies (if you already have placed them in the boats)break the beds and place them again let the villagers sleep for one night and shovel the entire place to prevent the golems from spawning and put zombies again and stand in the collection area it will work just fine

I was wondering why my iron farm wasn't working correctly and thanks to this video I was able to fix it
TIP FOR BUILDERS
Check for caves and other underground openings before making your farm because if there's a cave next to your build, then it may malfunction or not work at all because the golems would spawn anywhere in the cave/opening. So, either check for caves and avoid them or fill them so that the golems spawn only within the farm's proximity and not anywhere else.
USE name tags, the zombies despawn if you don't after about an hour. I died trying to kyte the zombies in after they despawned again, and i died and went to spawn(10000 blocks away). I deleted the game after that. It works well, just use name tags on zombies please
I would recommend if you put 2 trapdoors between the slabs since villagers can escapr if they go down there...
The only problem is sometimes iron golems spawn in the walls of the villager chambers and kill the zombies, they never survive because they suffocate and idk why they spawn inside of the slabs
Worked for half an hour then stopped randomly ~ Java 1.20.1
Yeah....same with me!
They were spawning in a cave nearby, filled it with buttons now it’s working great
It takes us as many seconds to like, share and subscribe as it takes you to mention if it’s for Java or Bedrock.
if your having problems getting the villager into the hole (pause🤨) try driving the boat over the hole and destroying the boat. villager should fall right in. if you decide to breed 2 villagers inside the whole make sure you place a block in between the 2 slabs so that it cant run out.
whoops i didnt see "your_plugs_house" comment my bad
I haven’t completed it yet but I put some villagers in and a golem spawned accidentally hit one of the villagers while putting them in and the golem attacked. So I killed it but noticed it hasent respawned yet? Any clue on why that is so so I have to wait to have all the villagers in?
DO NOT USE THIS FARM DOES NOT WORK
Bc u did it wrong
It did work for me
I just wanted to say, I like this farm a lot. It does require the player to mine resources to set it up, but whether that's a problem depends on the village you're working with and if you have easy access to a mountain. Mountains are beautiful sources of the iron needed for the initial hoppers.
You don’t even need the hoppers at first if you can just wait at the bottom for the iron golems to drop it, then you can use that iron to make hoppers
My zombies keep despawning, dying or killing me before I can get them in the boat and sometimes they just walk on top of the boat and dont go in it.
I prefer the 5x5 square about 10 blocks in the air. 2 villagers breed to 5. NO Zombie needed. Build a small tower around it to make it look nice. Easy peasy.
Can we use each of the corners for the same farm, to increase spawn rates or would it be to close to the other ones?
I think it would decrease spawn rates of the farms
For those who wanna build this but are not able to find a flat area, just dig or build a 37by37 blocks flat are and build everything aroudn the center point. This will make sure there are no spots on the surface iron golems can spawn, and you can then easily build and decorate or whatver above the ground with no risk of creating spawnpoints for the golem. Jut make sure the villagers are dug 7 blocks down.
This farm works so well but make the height of the rooms past the trapdoor and slabs stuck at 2 otherwise the golems have a chance of spawning behind those items
Tip: If iron golems are spawning in room with zombie in it, replace the floor blocks with glass or path blocks
Works amazing and is easily expandable 👍
This farm was so easy! but translating the villagers were terrible lol... so my villagers just ran away when i tried to place them on the boats but everything else was fine! minecraft is much easier right now.
Main question I have is do you need to fill all the pods with villagers or can you do to that are on opposite ends of eachother or even possibly only one?
the more villagers you put there, the more golems they spawn
TYSM!!! you deserve more subs!
Thank you!
Thanks its working

i was having one problem which was that golems were spawning outside the farm. quick fix is put a zombie above the drop chute. that does work but i had golems outside the range of the zombie and i figured out why the were spawning outside the farm. there were blocks that were below the layer i built the farm on so the golems could spawn there. my fix to this was to either place blocks there to raise it to the height of the farm or make them path blocks by right clicking on dirt with a shovel.
You forgot to mention the real reason why some decorators need an iron farm. LANTERNS.
I have built this farm, and after some initial trouble of golems spawning all over the landscape, and not in the hole, I have one persistent problem... all my captures adult zombies seems to go missing from their boats, sometimes after the 1st sunrise, and after day two or three they are all gone.
