The guys complaining are the same ones that use power tools, battery nailers and computers to read and watch videos. But they complain about electronics on a boat. No difference non at all. You are using the updated products for better performance and efficiency. Keep doing what you’re doing.

How you mentally get over that is important and what people need to hear. I shared this video with my daughter and what you had to say really encouraged her. She is not alone. It's SO EASY to give in to negativity. And tough to keep positive. Especially when you're breaking off and missing or losing fish. Y'all are great bass fisherman. I watch ALL of your videos (get kida antsy when a few days go by with out a new one) this is one of the best yet. Im not a CZcams watching kinda guy but love you and Mark's stuff. In my early 20s i stated fishing local tournaments and joined a club and was doing well. Then i took a wrong turn and barely fished at all. Sold my boat and wasn't living right. Now im 45 , bought a 20ft nitro and am getting back in the game but ALOT has changed technology wise since 2005 so im trying to play catch up. I hope to just get back to where I was on the local level because I believe my ship has sailed to go any further. But like the video said you have to stay positive and work you ass off . Thanks for the videos.
You speaking big facts on this one. I will say though that sometimes days are just bad. Funny I watch this after my day today. Loading up to go mow the largest yard on contract with my landscaping company and my wife's Co worker calls. The wife passed out driving and had to be taken to er. By 11 were leaving er with a plan and meds. Come home try to leave again and ac compresser explodes itself within 45 seconds of starting truck. Call advance auto because ac stuff was just bought. They agree to warranty it. I spend 3 hrs disassembling it to return. Call them they say we have new one come on. I drive 40 mins just for them to say "srry we don't actually have it". Now truck is tore down and no parts..lol. my day has sucked big time. But I just laugh cause it's out of my control sometimes. One day I'll buy a new truck. And new for me means 10yrs old or younger. The whole country could learn from this vid. Especially now. We gotta stay positive and stop the constant negativity. Great topic fellas
Only issue I have with FFS, is that I love to fish local tourneys, but now dudes pulling up with $30K in FFS, spot lock, and 360 sonar. I try to compete and I catch some fish but not like the winners do. They are out in the middle of the lake chasing schools. Just makes it hard for young anglers and anglers that do not have alot of money. That's all.
DC I'm 49 and my Dad is 73 and my Mom is 69, I want you to know you are 34 I believe you said my parents absolutely love you and absolutely love watching everything you put out there. My dad and mom's favorite part of the classic in Knoxville was meeting you and shaking your hand. Your mindset can change and influence you and the people around you forever. You never know what kind of day anyone is having. The negativity permeates everything we look at, if we let it. I cannot understand why anyone who fishes for a living believes that he/she is *owed* success. Even more so, owed the same level of success as their fellow competitors. Mark makes a great point when he says that negativity and drama have overtaken our media and thus our society. Numbers are the main thing, rather than the platform or message. Which is sad.

I went fishing the following day after watching your vid with a POSITIVE attitude I was going to do my best with some offshore fishing. Ive usually given up after about an hour of trying. But I stuck with it and in 5 hours I caught 16.82 lbs with a kicker and new PB 7.32. Your vid was in my head the whole time 😁 and it payed off. This past weekend was the first time that I weighed in 0 pounds and 0 ounces… ton of small but no 13”ers. That was the best day of fishin I ever had with my dad, both of us catching fish, he caught fish for the first time on different lures, first time together in the new boat. Left the hands down worst tournament of my life happy as can be. Positivity comes from outlook and what you focus on. Wasted money, rough tournament, broke off lures for small fish, whatever, that was one of the most fun fishing days I’ve ever had with my dad and that has made my week. Stay positive gentlemen you guys ARE THE BEST
Success is the gateway for negativity. Genuine, hard working folks like your group and millions around the world get the hate because the haters don’t want to do the work, plain and simple. You mentioned Ott, Edwin and Andy. I found you guys through them, MDJ’s one on one with Edwin a few years back, which led to checking out your alls channels. All the haters about watching you all look at screens while fishing are missing out…… I don’t care if you are looking at the screen, I am more focused on watching your alls mechanics and listening to what you all are saying, you can still learn even though you are not burning down the bank chucking and winding. MDJ & Sizzle ... Back in the day before the FFS... we felt we had more to learn when we would watch a pro isolate bass on brush, or docks or points, And then the baits they used to catch them. We had some knowledge we as weekend anglers could take with us when we got to go. As weekend anglers we dont have anything with us after watching you guys out fishing in open water searching for schools of bass. On the positive side ... I still enjoy watching you guys fish.

I'm almost old enough to be your great grandpa Take it from someone with experience: there are always going to be "haters" . They now have a platform (internet) to express their feelings and that they can hide behind. Focus on how many folks there are that love you and are rejoicing in your success. The others are jealous and just wish they had the talent and personality with which God has blessed you. Be thankful for you blessings, confident in your abilities, and be respectful to the haters even though they have not earned respect. Keep that smile and sense of humor going.

This is a lesson people tend to learn to far to late in life. I am having a really good season this year and it started improving toward the end of last year. First being, my goal is to weigh a fish in every tournament. Fish the fish so to speak. The fish will tell you what they want, but if your focus is on anything but the fish. Then your missing the signs telling you what the fish want and where they are. The second is the obsession with bodies of water. Again, fish the fish. The problem isn't the body of water your fishing. It's that you haven't figured it out. Every day cannot be perfect and getting steamed with things you can't control will only lead to bad focus and bad choices. A bad day can always be made worse, or it can be made better. The choice is ultimately yours in doing what it takes to get in the right frame of mind. Another good thing is Karma. There is both good karma and bad karma. It's astounding how much my day can get even better when talking to a guy who's struggling and offering up what working for me to help him out. I've had good day turn into great days all because I helped somebody out. Versus being an ass and letting bad karma break my prop or snap my line on a giant fish.

We have a few really good bass fisherman in our club and some people stated it is unfair because they win too much. These two people are awesome people and there are always going to be someone better. I learn from them. Also I seen a tournament where I seen ya’ll caught nothing on a tournament and I was dumbfounded, however when I bomb now I think about even the best having a hard day at fishing and this actually encourages me to keep going. Your group of people really helps others to learn more about fishing, but more importantly the attitude and friendship ya’ll toward each other is way others should be.

I am 61 yrs old not a great fisherman but i try. I got to meet jacob and talk fishing for about 20 minutes with him. The thing that impressed me was his passion for the sport. Watching MDJ's positive attitude has been very inspiring to me. It's no secret that the man has had some struggling going on. Now truck is tore down and no parts..lol. my day has sucked big time. But I just laugh cause it's out of my control sometimes. One day I'll buy a new truck. And new for me means 10yrs old or younger. Only issue I have with FFS, is that I love to fish local tourneys, but now dudes pulling up with $30K in FFS, spot lock, and 360 sonar. I try to compete and I catch some fish but not like the winners do. They are out in the middle of the lake chasing schools. Just makes it hard for young anglers and anglers that do not have alot of money. That's all.

The negativity permeates everything we look at, if we let it. I cannot understand why anyone who fishes for a living believes that he/she is *owed* success. Even more so, owed the same level of success as their fellow competitors. Mark makes a great point when he says that negativity and drama have overtaken our media and thus our society. Numbers are the main thing, rather than the platform or message. Which is sad.

I went fishing the following day after watching your vid with a POSITIVE attitude I was going to do my best with some offshore fishing. Ive usually given up after about an hour of trying. But I stuck with it and in 5 hours I caught 16.82 lbs with a kicker and new PB 7.32. Your vid was in my head the whole time 😁 and it payed off. This past weekend was the first time that I weighed in 0 pounds and 0 ounces… ton of small but no 13”ers. That was the best day of fishin I ever had with my dad, both of us catching fish, he caught fish for the first time on different lures, first time together in the new boat. Left the hands down worst tournament of my life happy as can be. Positivity comes from outlook and what you focus on. Wasted money, rough tournament, broke off lures for small fish, whatever, that was one of the most fun fishing days I’ve ever had with my dad and that has made my week. Stay positive gentlemen you guys ARE THE BEST

MDJ & Sizzle ... Back in the day before the FFS... we felt we had more to learn when we would watch a pro isolate bass on brush, or docks or points, And then the baits they used to catch them. We had some knowledge we as weekend anglers could take with us when we got to go. As weekend anglers we dont have anything with us after watching you guys out fishing in open water searching for schools of bass. On the positive side ... I still enjoy watching you guys fish.

They now have a platform (internet) to express their feelings and that they can hide behind. Focus on how many folks there are that love you and are rejoicing in your success. The others are jealous and just wish they had the talent and personality with which God has blessed you. This is a lesson people tend to learn to far to late in life. I am having a really good season this year and it started improving toward the end of last year. First being, my goal is to weigh a fish in every tournament. Fish the fish so to speak. The fish will tell you what they want, but if your focus is on anything but the fish. Then your missing the signs telling you what the fish want and where they are. The second is the obsession with bodies of water. Again, fish the fish. The problem isn't the body of water your fishing. It's that you haven't figured it out. Every day cannot be perfect and getting steamed with things you can't control will only lead to bad focus and bad choices. A bad day can always be made worse, or it can be made better. The choice is ultimately yours in doing what it takes to get in the right frame of mind. Another good thing is Karma. There is both good karma and bad karma. It's astounding how much my day can get even better when talking to a guy who's struggling and offering up what working for me to help him out. I've had good day turn into great days all because I helped somebody out. Versus being an ass and letting bad karma break my prop or snap my line on a giant fish.

We have a few really good bass fisherman in our club and some people stated it is unfair because they win too much.
These two people are awesome people and there are always going to be someone better. I learn from them.
Also I seen a tournament where I seen ya’ll caught nothing on a tournament and I was dumbfounded, however when I bomb now I think about even the best having a hard day at fishing and this actually encourages me to keep going.
Your group of people really helps others to learn more about fishing, but more importantly the attitude and friendship ya’ll toward each other is way others should be.

Watching MDJ's positive attitude has been very inspiring to me. It's no secret that the man has had some struggling going on. But that dude always seems to smile about things that would make me break a rod, kick my trolling motor, run my boat up on the bank and leave it there, start a fight with my wife, and burn all my fishing gear while having a stiff drink.
