We Pentaholics have a saying, “Our favorite PTX song is the one we’re listening to right now”. Sounds like you’re coming around.
Kevin & Avi (now Matt) are really the backbone. That is a good way to put it.
That last line, "We're bigger than we've ever dreamed", is especially appropriate for Pentatonix at this point in their career. After winning the Sing-Off TV show in 2011, the record company that awarded them a contract as part of their winnings turned around and immediately dropped them - "there's no market for acapella music." But they didn't give up, decided to showcase their talent on CZcams, and never looked back. This video was uploaded to YT in late 2013, just a couple of years after the record company fiasco, and they were already becoming very popular as YT artists.
When Avi comes out with his deep bass and then the drop...wow...it really picks up... He and Kevin are the 'meat & potatoes' of the group....
This was one of their early covers after winning the SingOff. Amazing group.
Yeah, totally! Much as I absolutely adore Mitch (❤️!!!)...to me this song is all about AVI! Meat and potatoes, baby! Meat and potatoes...
As always, they make it their own. Especially the last part in their regular clothes.

11 years of being a Pentaholic I've learned a lot but one thing is for sure.....the best/favorite PTX song is whichever one you are currently listening to lol!
They are freaking amazing. They sound so beautiful and the fact you can see it in the way they sing and there Demeanor the love to do what they do. It’s not a money based thing, like that’s not there main focus and it shows in there songs. The first time I heard them I went on about a 2 hr binge listening to them. I know have loads of my friends and even my mom listening to them.
Pentatonix are wonderful. You’ve got a really good voice too!

I definitely agree with another reactor who stated that his favorite PTX song was the one he's listening to at the time.
You should check out Pentatonix "Wizard of ahhhs" 🤯🤯 They take modern songs to tell the story of wizard of oz!

Great reaction to a great Pentatonix video. Thank you. They are bigger than they ever dreamed. It must be surreal to them that they have gotten to do so much in such a short period. They were part of MusiCares event to honor and celebrate the icon Joni Mitchell on Friday night. They felt honored to be invited to perform at such a star-studded event. They are still humble and grateful even after all that they have accomplished. Subscribed and looking forward to more Pentatonix.
Interesting little fact about the name of the song. Lorde said she saw a National Geographic magazine cover of a baseball player surrounded by people holding out baseballs. The player was wearing a uniform that said Royals. The picture was of George Brett the best player in Kansas City Royals history. He gave her a signed jersey when she was on tour in the Kansas City area.

I always to laugh when I hear this story because the team was named after a annual livestock show they have in kansas city.
have you ever heard of Voice Play.... they are another self made acapella group that started on CZcams I love them as much as I do Pentatonix ..... their best covers are This is Halloween, Dream On and We don't talk about Bruno

If you haven't heard their version of Jolene with Dolly parton, I'd recommend that one. It's really good. I know you said you wanted to know more Acapella groups too, so I'd say check out the Butts remix from Home Free and maybe We Don't Talk About Bruno from VoicePlay. They're all really amazing
