When you fill them; just fill them 2/3 of the way. It accounts for the filling boiling over. And for anyone wondering. You can fill it with whatever canned fruit you want and use any cookie cutter to put other shapes or characters on top as well. Endless possibilities.
If you cut across the rolled crust, you end up with another layer of flake and no waste of scraps. Cut across the roll, flatten out the discs, then place in the baking tins. No wasted scraps and no cutter allowed. I top with strussel.

I make mini pumpkin pies and use a flower cookie cutter, so cute
A little egg wash on the stars and a sprinkle of sugar on top of that would make them shiny, crunchy and sweet.
Hint use a rolling pin or bottle and a pinch of flour and roll the dough thinner and it tastes way better thin.

How were you able to get 12 shells from 2 prepared pie crusts? You showed getting only 4 tart shells from one pillsbury pie crust.
She used 2 pie crusts and I think she got the extra 2 (each from the 2 pie crusts) from rolling out her scraps. Well that's what I'm guessing she did
