This amazing man loved his country so much that he massacred 1000 whites and 6000 of his own country man, sparkling the colonial war...
He didn't love Angola, or Angolan people, because that concept did not exist, like most African countries, Angola is a mixture of different tribal/ethnical peoples, Holden Roberto massacred 6000 africans of different ethnicities than his own.
Eventually this tribal obsession of his, was the reason why him and Jonas Savimbi broke their alliance.
This man is no hero, he, like most african politicians, only had his tribe at most interest, got payed hundreds thousands of dollars from America because he was an American puppet, a tool to fight Portuguese influence in the region.

This guy led communist militia troops that fed women and children through woodchippers and played football with the decapitated heads of slaughtered victims of their rebel uprising.

Who are you talking about? Holden Roberto was not a communist, he was staunchly anti communist. If fact he was the first major independence leader in Angola to fight them. His enemy, the MPLA were staunch communists backed by the Soviet Union and Castro’s Cuba. Roberto had the backing of the western powers.

@WH Robert Have you ever studied the Angolan Civil War? The MPLA were the communists supported by Cuba and the Soviet Union. The FNLA were supported by South Africa and the U.S. Do you really think apartheid South Africa and the CIA would support a communist FNLA in the middle of the Cold War? Most of that is even covered in this video.

@WH Robert And by the way I agree with you that Roberto committed serious atrocities and crimes. I simply just disagree that he was a communist.
