I wouldn't be too quick to part out that truck! Those 70's two-tone GMCs are worth big bux now. Decent running condition, with a little body work and polish, and you are looking at $15,000 to $40,000. Yeah seems like a lot for an old truck, things are crazy nowadays!

MUCH RESPECT for your approach to the "will it run" genre. As always, your systematic attack is so refreshing compared to every other channel! You clearly were trying to preserve the potential for the longterm usefulness of that engine.....and, boy, what a healthy sounding one it turned out to be!! Hubby and I are debating exactly what kind of gem you've got there...the orange color and two line fuel pump (Airtex 40987) imply a potentially older and hopefully higher horsepower one than the year of the truck. Airtex 41216 style pump has the extra return line and I believe is more likely correct for that year. We're also trying to remember when GM changed engine color on trucks to aqua/blue. What we're saying is, please run the numbers on that engine to see exactly what is....it sounds reeeally good, especially for an abandoned truck with a quadrajunk carb!!

Hello (Puddin)! My husband and I are in our 60’s we’re huge fans and always look forward to your videos. He’s driving (on the road ) his Magnum from Iowa for the ( school benefit) car show. I doubt he enters. But I hope you’ll be meandering about so he can possibly say hi. He’s been watching since you began your videos. He’s so proud of his car and all happy to be coming to the event. I’m hoping it’s a beautiful day and also hoping there’ll be Tshirts there. But he’s a 5x and it’s disheartening but his size usually isn’t available. You bring us so much happiness, we feel like we’re your friends. Thank you!!!

I just picked up a completely original 77 GMC shortbed it’s blue and has a beautiful patina. 350 4 barrel trucks were the biggest highest performance small block you could get in a 2WD truck. That’s just some trivia for you. The 400 was Only available in 4x4 trucks. Sierra classic is the highest trim level of GMC truck

57:20 A slightly easier trick my grandpa taught me to deal with that fuel pump push rod, is pull it out, give it a coating of some sticky high temp grease, and send it home. The grease will hold it in place long enough to get the pump installed. I also use this trick on my sockets to hold a nut when I need to get it back in a tight or weird angle spot.

QJets are like fine wine, they get better with age. On the front of the engine by the fuel pump is a bolt, take that bolt out and that gives you access to the fuel pump push rod. Take another bolt that’s a little longer so you can put pressure on the pushrod to change the pump.

Puddin, I’ve been poking around in both channels for some time now. You have some of the best BS-ery on CZcams. I love Edna, Aunt Dorothy, Gertrude, Mr. Mercer, and all the Yee Hawl siblings.
Long live Pott County and all who live in her.

That Mouse jumped out the top of the hood on that mossy green Jimmy at the 16:25 mark. I think that truck wants to live again, thank you all, from Ontario Oregon.

42:55 An easy way I've found to thoroughly drain bottles of oil and other valuable fluids --- get a wide-mouthed funnel and insert it into one of the mostly-emptied bottles, then place each of the other bottles upside down into the funnel and let it drain for maybe five-to-twenty minutes (depending on how heavy the oil is). Then place the funnel into the oil-filler opening on your vehicle's engine, insert the spout of your now-partially-filled collection-bottle into the funnel, and allow it to drain upside down for maybe 10 minutes to half an hour (again, depending on how heavyweight the oil is, and also how warm it is outside where your vehicle is).

Thats a keeper. The square bodies were the rocks of cheve. I've had my square body since 1981. Still have it and it stills puts down the road.
Time for Clearcoat on the travelall to save the look of the present looks.
Great show Puddin. Keep up the good work.

For the heater delete, all you gotta do is plug the ends or pinch them off. They don’t have to connect or flow. Same as putting a plug in the holes. Heater delete for racing!
