Hey guys Brad the Builder here, I hope you all enjoy today's episode! Stay tuned for more videos, and I'll see you on the next job site! Follow along on Instagram: bit.ly/BradtheBuilderIG
The things you do, the ideas you have are genius yet at the same time simple and extremely effective. Ten times in this video I smacked my head and said "why didn't I think of that" Brilliant sir 👏 ~And would love to see the finished product
Looking good. The front approach to the house looks good. Stain always looks good. I did a deck with pine boards used a flame thrower and then put a polyurethane clear coat on it. It's constantly getting rained on and snow with no fading yet.
@@BradtheBuilder yes. It's a natural preserver. But I did a clear coat because there is no over kill to diy projects. I'm like beef cake construction but more beefer hahaha 😂
Awesome episode Brotha Brad 😉👌! Yes please do a follow up episode. Your a natural with the youtube channel, keep bringing the 🔥 videos. Cheers from California Brad 👊🏼😎🤙🏼
It would be great to see more of the painting of the brick. I currently have a 2 story red brick built in 1940 that we want to paint. This will help me with some ideas and decisions. It is great to learn about the primer he used. Ours will be from red to a deep slate/blue color with white trim and grey roof. Thanks for the insight.
Honestly, I'm not a fan of the painted brick. My house is mostly brick, a similar type, but I don't like how it looks. I do love the new entrance to the house. That's something I'd love to change about my place. I agree that it would look better stained. The ending, omg, you got me laughing really hard again! Thank you so much!
As always, an amazing update to this home. Your videos are always informative, but fun(ny) to watch. This video was no exception. You do seem to have phenomenal subs. That's 2/3 of the battle, in my opinion. I definitely would love to see the finished house. Thanks for sharing, Brad (and Steve)! The dig about Flair's cabin had me laughing so hard. My dog was asleep in my room when I watched this. He didn't appreciate the loud chuckle I let out when I saw that part. He woke suddenly and looked at me like "really, Mom!? I was trying to sleep here!" Heather🇨🇦 PS-Steve seems very familiar.
You kind of make me want to move to Nebraska just so you can either build or remodel a house for me. If you would allow me to bring my weather, that might seal the deal.
I hate the word "outdated", but if one prefers white brick to red brick, for whatever reason, it's good to know how to do it correctly. It certainly looks a lot better than vinyl siding and less boring than any kind of lapped siding.
We are looking at a house that needs some work. It is Brick. I was thinking about turning the garage into a master bedroom and recreation room. . Then build a new side load garage. Would it look alright to use siding on the new garage. Then painting the old brick work. The house has a hip style roof.
Don’t be afraid to paint the brick if you don’t like the color of it… That seems to be what a lot of people are doing when they remodel older homes! and you can easily implement siding for the addition
This home is in Nebraska… cold winters💨💦🌨️. There is a special paint for exterior brick… I don’t remember the name but, check with Sherwin Williams for to get correct paint product
Sometimes you can reuse it it’s hard to get the mortar off… But because we remove some windows and they needed to be filled in and we added garage addition we had to purchase a lot of brick to finish the house
There is a special place in hell for people who paint brick. I'd rather hire a faux painter to match new and old brick, rather than paint the whole house white. Just my opinion.
After looking at red brick for 30 years people want a change. It’s not everyone’s preference but it is a new look we are seeing people do. Thanks for watching 🤠🎺
Would love to see the house when you complete it. Your attention to detail on your jobs is just amazing.
Nice house renovation tour !
Of course we'd like to see the finished house.
Even a few updates along the way would be nice.
You got it! 🤠🎺
@@BradtheBuilder Where are you located? I have the same dream to do that to my house! & how much does something like this run?
The little hit at the end was just great!

A flamethrower? That’s an interesting idea… I bet it looks great!

Loxon also controls the acid PH of the masonry. Only needed in newer masonry though, but if you brick is newer, you NEED ph balance! Loxon is great!
Great installment of Brad the Builder. Have a great week.
Love the work, hope to do something like this in the near future if I find the right place
You do good work Brad. That'll be a very nice house when it's done.
😂 that porta potty part at the end was funny.
😜
Would love to see how it turned out especially the garage!

Hate to see beautiful brick painted
Nice remodel Brad. Pretty soon it’ll be full speed ahead with all trades inside of there.

Brad the killer this is a good vid
👍👍 you're doing a great job the videos keep getting better and better keep it up.
Yessir show the finished product
Great stuff! Wish you lived out my area of the country!
Love the content Brad!!
Maybe Andrew just needs an outhouse at the hunting cabin and a nice big ADA Porta potty for Macy!
Stain def looks better. Another tip is that you should avoid drywalling a garage. Go with something more durable like Hardy panels.
It does seem crazy to Drywall garages, but we’ve been doing it that way for many many years and it’s never been a problem

Can you build semi-subterranean so I can hibernate during the winter ?

That looks like they did an A-1 job weaving the new bricks with the old.
LMAO, a bed of roses!!! #sorrynotsorry Flair
Final please!!!
That’s a good idea… I need to get back in the house and do a final reveal
that comment at end lol amazing dude i didnt know it was that bad lol
It was bad😷
Always more videos
Shout out to “ Tom the Trimmer”! Looks great!
I will make sure I tell Tom to Trimmer he’ll be glad to know he’s been recognized! 🤠🎺
Only part of this remodel I dislike is hanging the TV above the fireplace
Agree, I dont know when that became a thing, but is all over now.
I’m curious as to what kind of budget for something like that?
It was approximately $500,000
Do you have a video on the finished product?
I have a video where it is almost competed… I did a punchlist walk thur. I will try and find it for you
I want to see the finished product.. you give me home
Still need to do that… Don’t I?
In which state is this home located? I'm 5b Wisconsin. COLD winters. Does painting brick need something special in cold areas?
This home is in Nebraska… cold winters💨💦🌨️. There is a special paint for exterior brick… I don’t remember the name but, check with Sherwin Williams for to get correct paint product
is anything being done to the half basement? man cave or storage.
love to see how this one progresses
Yes we put a living room and a second master suite downstairs! I’ll make sure I include that in the final video when the home is completed
Brad! This is the biggest cliffhanger for me right now! I’ve gotta see the half basement! 😅Come On!
Did you ever post the final remodel?
I have not! I need to put that on my list of things to do
Did that Polly hopper have a horn in it Brad?
I should have checked🙆♂️
Is it possible to save the old brick to reuse in a project like this?
Sometimes you can reuse it it’s hard to get the mortar off… But because we remove some windows and they needed to be filled in and we added garage addition we had to purchase a lot of brick to finish the house
@@BradtheBuilder thank you for the reply. That helps me a lot!
@Brad the Builder Where are you located?
Are you painting the chimney as well?
Good catch… Yes and the Painters forgot to do that🙆♂️
How much is a full remodel like the one here?
That was a total Gut job and I think it cost around $400,000🤔
@@BradtheBuilder wow! Did you ever post the after?
@@ProjectDrift350Z I have not! I’m going to do a show on the completed project once the owners get all moved in. Hopefully in the next 30 days

You are entitled to your opinion🤠👍
Why would you want paint brick… Take away the character of the house.

What the fuck, this horrifies me that you’re painting that brick, what a waste of that beautiful brick work.
We couldn’t get brick to match and that’s the new look that people are going for… it’s gonna look good when it’s all done!
