  • Things To Do CINQUE TERRE - Italian Coastal Haven!
    Beautiful string of five old colorful fishing villages on steep terraces of rugged Italian Riviera were only accessible by mule tracks and boats, until recently. Now there are three ways to explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site. First is to hike the trails, second option is to use a ferry boat available every spring and summer and the third option is to take a train. And as a tour guide I can’t wait to show you the best things to do in Cinque Terre, Italy.

    We chose Sarzana as a base to visit the Cinque Terre and it was a pleasant surprise. Beautiful old town full of concerts, vintage markets and great restaurants. It is the real authentic Ligurian town and still little touristy. We recommend it to everyone!

    I can’t believe vía del
    AMORE is not open until 7/24. I was planning to walk from RIOMAGGIORE to MANAROLA 😞that was the only trail I was planning to do. It looks easy and beautiful. The one from Vernazza to Monterroso looks taugh

    Rok! Thank you for the great video. I would like the information about hiking trails between villages: are they difficult for the elderly?

    • @rokgoesaround
      @rokgoesaround  Před rokem +3

      Thanks 🤗. It depends, I think the best hike for elderly people is from Corniglia to Vernazza as it is quite flat.

    Great video Rok, thank you! We are visiting here in October and wanted to know how hard it would be (how long would it take) to walk the entire path from Monterosso to Riomaggiore. Is that too ambitious? (We are staying 2 nights in Monterosso). Are we better off taking the train between the villages or a combination of train/walk? Thanks so much any insight is greatly appreciated! We are going to Milan and LOVE your video for that city ...so much that we are doing an extra day there..DP

    • @rokgoesaround
      @rokgoesaround  Před 9 měsíci +2

      Thanks. I think walking the entire path in one day might be a little bit over ambitious but not impossible.
      If you spent the night in one of the villages on the way it makes more sense. But you can also simply try and see how it goes. If you change your mind you can use the train at any point as they run frequently. Have a great trip.

    Do you know if we can get there by car and have parking? We are driving from Germany, thank you!

    • @rokgoesaround
      @rokgoesaround  Před 2 měsíci +1

      No, you can't arrive by car. You can leave your car in the city of La Spezia and use train, that takes you straight to the 5 villages. Train has a stop in each of the villages.

    Hello, I have a few questions.. So, 1. Which city is best to stay in if I have a family with 1 kid and am worried about carrying luggage after getting off the train? It sounds like Monteressso is the one, but can you confirm? 2. To take some of those pictures from the cliffside where the colored houses are in background, do I need the hiking pass? 3. Which city would still be the most stroller friendly ? I'm thinking I may not be able to cover all the cities and this may determine where I go 4. Do you have any information the ferries? would that be a better way to experience cinque de terre if i dont think i can carry my kid everywhere 5. Lastly, I am still conflicted between Amalfi and Cinque de terre.. If you have been to amalfi, which one would you recommend between the two? My main constraint is mobility. I want to make sure that I can cover as much ground given i'm travelling with a family

      If you are there is summer stay in Porto Venere and take a boat that runs to the villages. If you are there in spring or fall stay in Monterosso and use train.

  • @andresperino7236

    Wich one do you like most, Riomaggiore o Portovennere?

    • @rokgoesaround
      @rokgoesaround  Před rokem +1

      All 5 of them are an amazing package, but Porto Venere is my favorite spot, although it is not part of the Cinque Terre.

    • @rokgoesaround

      You can visit 4 costal ones and skip Corniglia.
