To summarize my comments below, the *Andis AGC Special Edition Super 2 Speed Clipper Blue* seen here is around UK£140=US$180, a pro tool designed to work for hours on end, day after day. Cheap 'human' models, made for occasional cutting of a very different type of hair structure, won't cope too well with a dog's topcoat/undercoat mixture. My home 'human' clippers are Remington's so-called 'virtually indestructible' model and are great for my family's heads, but I would not recommend even them for a dog's coat.

I am a home groomer and bought a wahl brand clipper. I used a number 3 comb after watching 40 or so you tube clips only to find that one run down the back will be perfect and the next it wont clip anything off. I have to pull the hair off after two or three runs, I dont see you needing to do that at all ? any idea why ?

Good tips,my dog has thinner fur,so my worry was shaving off too much and nicking him, have groomed him several times, learned what size blades to use, also careful with blades, they get HOT, that's why groomers switch them off- detachable clippers are preferable.
You can't nick with a guard on the blade.

My pet clippers just don’t cut off much fur at a time. What am I doing wrong? I have a cocker spaniel so he gets fluffy before being clipped at the groomers. Obviously my clippers aren’t as powerful as the professional groomers but I thought I could clean him up a bit in winter. 😅

Lol you make it look so easy my dog came out patchy 😂 I just slapped a shirt on him it’ll grow back! But I have a lot more respect for groomers because it’s not as easy as they make it look
And respect to bathers who work in larger chain salons but don't cut hair. They usually do all the work beforehand like washing and drying, nails, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, etc. They have double the work with half the pay the groomers make.

question, I have new clippers, Oster with the snap on blades but it doesn't cut. So I followed a video on how to clean the blades but still will not cut. And the blades were not dirty, I'm confused as to why new clippers will not cut. I have a #3 & #7 Blades, they both will not cut. Any suggestions?
Will your clippers at least cut human hair? If not, the blades don't meet properly. The *Andis AGC Special Edition Super 2 Speed Clipper* in the vid is UK£140=US$180. 'Human' clippers won't perform as well, as dog's have a water-shedding top coat and soft under coat, while ours is more homogenous. The blades of the two clipper types are consequently rather different in design.
I have two set the trimmers I can't get any of them to work that easy, trying to shave a Golden Retriever 3 to 4 inches of hair, it won't work whether I go with or against the grain.
My clippers dont take the hair off good either and now I'm so disappointed and discouraged 😟

I'm about a year late on this but... "People" do adopt pets from shelters every day...thousands of times. You're obviously a religious person, hence the name you have..."Jesus Saves" (I'm not, but I see that doing well for others is ultimately what makes a good person...karma). Yes, I do rescue...I also don't judge people because I never know their personal circumstances unless I'm told. Be who you are...all I ask is that you not preach and judge.
