      @@FuckALLauthorities it at least put the previous owners to shame. Apparently they hadn't bothered to use a rake to remove the 4 to 8 inch thick layer of mos, so they could inspect the roof and see if everything was okay. It had actually been in the same family since before WW2.

      @@stacey8096 if you knew how many old houses and barns that have been abandoned around the woods. Now my small barn got an overhaul and saved from falling to pieces.

    Howdy Michael- what a job to repair the roof! I would say it really needed to be fixed back up. There’s always something to do on a homestead. Great job. God bless

    I watch other guys build stuff, but get more enjoyment watching you work than all the others. Great job! P.S. loved your home made knickerbockers. Best to you

      @@den-nap4974 Hahaha, thanks. I have some favorites too, but i see all kind of stuff. Mostly when I get some of my (sometimes) a bit crazy ideas. There's often someone who have made something similar, or i get some more ideas. My head are always full of ideas, and it's a bit of a pain, because I don't have enough time to bring them to life.

      @@debbiesmith1626 yes, and thank heaven for my use of a simple rake to remove the thick layer of mos. Maybe the previous owners thought it looked pretty, or they just didn't bother. Anyway, the barn now be in use for the next many decades to come.

    You are quite the repairman/builder! I take it that you used your own sawmill for the new wood? Nice touch on the battens!

      @@JosEPh-zy3yr no, it was before I got the sawmill. It's just a few weeks after I bought the place in 2020. I used as much as I could of reclaimed wood, and paid for the rest.

      Hi Dirk. I will make a sawmill shed at some point, but as always I'm to busy doing a lot of other stuff.
      By the way, I do cut lumber all year round- even if it's snowing.

    Det er ofte et MEGET større arbejde at renovere det gamle, som er lavet efter det forhåndenværende søms princip, end at bygge nyt, så VED det har taget lang tid at redde laden.

      @@petergdk tak. Det var meget værre end forventet, og ret surt at skulle ud i så stor en renovering. Men hvis laden skulle overleve, var det den eneste vej at gå. Nu er den gamle dame god og fin igen, og står forhåbentlig i mange år fremover.
