    ....this picture .... going for DC into AC into DC for the MacBook .... guys .... you missed a great option. I miss a few good DC powering Options over USB-C, no one needs AC Power on the go, all devices are DC powered. This Powerstation with more DC options (USB-C) would be nice

    Hi @Dometic
    If I have an Anderson plug in the boot of my car, can I use an Anderson to Anderson lead to charge the PLB40?
    And can I leave the PLB40 permanently plugged into this? So everytime I drive it would get some charge...even when it's already on 100% and not being used to power anything. Or is it best to remove it from the Anderson plug in my boot when fully charged?
    Given it has a DCDC charger built in, I'm guessing its safe to leave plugged into my Anderson plug in boot even when the vehicle is turned off? And it won't drain my car Battery?
    Thanks

    Hello, little question, is the PLB40 on solar pannel starting again automaticly the charge after clouds ? I ask the question, because a lot of systems do not start automaticly the charge after clouds, the charge has to be manually again started. Thank you.

    Could somebody tell me which solar blanket would be the most ideal to charge the PLB40? Thanks!

      Zamp solar panels make a 100 watt portable kit just for the plb40 expensive but quality made in bend Oregon.

    Connected this into my ARB 50qt (purchased 2016) to test in my living room before a trip. Noticed it would turn on, light up the fridge temp display and approx one hour the PLB40 later turns off. Fridge display goes dark. Does it need a large load to trigger standby mode? There isn’t an immediate compressor load on the battery. Just temp display and power light. Happened 3 times today. The 4th time right after I started the unit I lowered the temp immediately to turn on the compressor to put a larger load on the PLB40. Been working fine so far (3hrs). Is there a load threshold to keep the PLB40 in standby ? Even then I’m curious why it turned off in one hour vs 24 per the pdf manual. If this was a long road trip I would of ended up with a cooler of spoiled food.

      @@DometicOfficial Have all of your existing units available for purchase been updated on the firmware? How do I know? I would hope I won't have to call customer service and have to have a special cable and instructions sent out to me to update the firmware.

      The Dometic PLB40 has an Anderson connection point so it can be plugged directly into a solar panel.

    • @topnotchreviewer1429
      @topnotchreviewer1429 Před 4 lety

      The 12 volt power port I believe is good for 10 amps or around 120 to 130 watts. If you use an inverter with a higher wattage and run over the limit of the PLB40, you'll likely blow a fuse.

      That’s not a charge controller it’s just a plug. Shouldn’t there be something controlling the charge coming from the solar power source to keep it from cooking the battery?

    Would like to upgrade to a CFX3 (not sure which one yet) and the PLB40. Thing is along with those two products, which I can find in allot of camping stores or online, I cannot find the DOMETIC PSB150 solar blanket? Austria or Germany.
    Dometic doesn't answer my customer support submission in their website?
    Anybody have any idea on buying one of these PSB 150 solar blankets or are they discontinued?

      It's main intent is run the 12 volt fridges and not to be a power station such as Goal Zero or Jackery.
