I love the Goss twin having a boogie
Sir Cliff Richard is clearly the boss and leads the way in this fabulous version ❤
Greetings from Germany! This version is a memory from my teenage years. It was a wonderful time. I am now 53 years old
Great to see Cliff Richard sing.
My favourite Band Aid of all time ❤
Marti Pellow Is an outstanding vocalist. Really like this version.
He's a world above the rest.
Matt Goss is soooooo underrated!!!
In 26 years I've never heard this version... weird! I like it :)
Yeah, although I've never really been much of a fan of pop music, I recall that I quite liked this version (as an Aussie, I was rapt that Kylie & Jason Donovan prominently featured in it) at the time...my God, I forgot until now just how damn pretty the twins (Matt & Luke) from the pop band BROS were!!
This version is so obscure
I preferred this era to the 1984 one
This is the most melodious version.
This is my favorite version, this is the one I've usually heard play on the radio
I love Cliff!
My favourites are the original 1984 version as well as this version as they were both performed by my favourites artists of the 80's (Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Jimmy Sommervile and Bananarama) and the veteran (Cliff Richard). It was a pity that Rick Astley didn't join to sing in this version.
I always get goosebumps everytime I listen to these songs every December since 1984/1989.
It is good to keep the tradition and reproduce the song every 5 or 10 years with the new generations of artists of the time as have been done now.
Feed the world, spread smiles, and stop the wars!😊
Didn't even know about this version. Grew up with these artists ❤❤❤ Love both the original and this versions ... Wow!! Sir Cliff Richard!!!! 🙏 Merry Christmas 2021, God Bless us all. Praise God we can see another Christmas, thank you Jesus.
Great production, and an impressive list of pop stars. Had I never heard the original, I’d love this. Unfortunately, I have. The first Band-Aid will always be my favorite, no matter how good other versions are.
Obviously the 1984 original is the absolute best, but I love that they keep updating it and adding current artists or artists that missed out the first time around- looking at you, Cliff Richard!
I think it's a travesty. It undermines the whole purpose. With the original it was done so organically and on a whim. As a by-product, everyone's profile went through the roof...but that was never the goal. With this one, I feel philanthropy took a backseat...
yeah, the 1984 version is my favorite as well.
@@rampageclover9788Then you missed the point of it completely. The 1989 famine in Ethiopia was the travesty and the fact that five years after the original had raised so much money, parts of Africa were no better off than they had been. Geldof’s exasperation that lessons clearly hadn’t been learned, spurred him to revive Band Aid to raise more funds to feed those who were dying of malnourishment and starvation. 1989 had been the pinnacle of Stock Aitken Waterman’s career, their “sound” defining a whole generation. In 1989 alone they had written/produced 6 number 1 singles by 4 different artists, written and produced the year’s highest selling album, Jason Donovan’s “Ten Good Reasons” and single handily revived Donna Summer’s failing career- returning her into the UK and US Top 10 charts from which she had long been absent. It was clear who Geldoff would turn to in order to deliver this next incarnation of Band Aid. Stock Aitken Waterman. This was organised and recorded in the shortest amount of time than any of the other versions. There was less calculation in this production and those who participated did so with their very best intentions.
@@rampageclover9788there is always a good cause behind every remake
Remember Ebola?
@@rampageclover9788 Geldof asked SAW to do it. Therefore, your assumption is wrong.
They don't play this version enough on these Christmas channels. I love it.
probably because it's the weirdest of the 4 that have been released.
@@disneydanny2Weird? In what way? After the 1984 original, this 1989 remake is the next best version. 1988/89 was the year of PWL and SAW and Band Aid II was the sound of 1989 personified. The single was a massive success, becoming the UK’s 9th highest selling single of that year. The 2004 and 2014 versions don’t hold a torch to the originality of the 1984 and 1989 versions. Also, if we are to talk about “weird”, the gold star for that goes to 2004’s Band Aid 20, with Dizze Rascal’s cringey rap being shoehorned in.
Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 2023!
The OG Band aid version will always be the best one
Agreed re: the incredible quality & number/expanse of the artists from Band Aid but for me, the Goss twins (BROS) & Jason Donovan & Kylie alone in Band Aid II made this far more pretty than the OG group...
Ikr
Sorry but this is more enjoyable
@@TheLordDashing Amen, Leo!
this is berst
There is no need to compare. The first one is the original one, the most authentic. But this one deserves recognition too, it's a good PWL version.
I heard this version for the first time a few days ago and it's utter garbage. I only came here to show someone how bad it is
Only because of M Pellows vocals.
@@HRHooChicken well at least it's way better than the awaful re recorded 2004/2014 versions.
When it takes the name of the original you have to compare.
Very good cover
I was 11 when this song came out, I never knew when I was in my 40’s I’d have to donate to feed people in my own country. Love to everyone who has to choose between heating and eating . Please remember there is a part of our society that cares. ❤️❤️❤
Wie wahr! Die Welt ist im Wandel.... Aber in keinem guten Wandel😟
I did like the 1984 version till I heard this version with Sir Cliff Richard. I am taken with this one!!!
Love both 80's versions of this song
Nice collaboration between both my favourite male and female pop stars, Cliff Richard and Kylie Minogue.
Nothing changes, the world is still the same
This music is number one!Merry Christmas everyone....
Chris Rea is the man!
The best band aid version. Band aid 2!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Bros in this is legendary
Yes, and who is that beautiful blond laughing girl beside him ?
@@barrycollins7026 Yes, thanks, l found her, Sara Dallin 😘❤
Im here for Bros, the ham they put in is pure genius
Matt was hands down the best singer in this, then I think Marti Pellow (sorry don’t know the correct spelling)
@@xDRAGONSTARx gtf
Same - love Bros and the energy they brought to everything they touched … ahhh the memories 🙌🏽🙌🏽
This is absolutely the best version, what a beat, it blows my mind! And Kylie Minogue's voice, 😲 wow! Goosebumps!
Bananarama I love them so much
I remember this version being released, and being so excited bc BROS was in it. It does do the original justice though. Good job.
Everybody on here commenting: it's not a competition who's the best singers.this is a charity single, period.quit comparing please.
Marti Pellow’s vocals are on another level.
Love it that Sir Cliff sang on this one! Perfect for him! They all sounded great! Wish Freddie Mercury could have added his voice!
Surprised he wasn't on the original! Think the 'Here's to you' bit would have suited his style!
I love that cliff was singing in the band aid 2 video.
Freddie would've withdrawn by this point 😪
@Pollywog Hope you're ok, thinking of ya pollywog!
Cliff I heard turned down the opportunity to be in the original and deeply regretted it....
Never knew bout this version
A bemused bananarama standing next to Matt Goss clearly getting his groove on 🤣
This version has been on loop all day in my mind 😂😅 I was singing it to hubby this morning on Oxford Street 😂😂😂...... gotta love Lisa Stansfield ❤
My favourite version! Marti Pellow makes it it for me!!
1984 + 1989 = golden 1980s duet (if someone is interested).
this is hands down the best version never played hardly
because it's shit
Love this version and the original. But all have been at different times and deserve credit as it was all for a good cause for our future.
Unpopular opinion, but I LOVE this version 🎄
Same
same
I love this one more than '84.
Agree of all of the remakes to this song, this is the best of the remakes. 2004 and the version from Daddy's home is great as well. The worst ones are the 2003 and the 2014 version should be erased.
Same. It is excellent
I just love Marti Pellows/Wet Wet Wets part of this version 🥰.
some voice he has cliff and Matt from bros and sonia have all got superb voices .
Disagree completely. Sings it out all of tune.
Kylie and Jason blended together in a particular verse. Just like good old days when they did the song Especially for You.
Yes.
I rememnber the same ..kylie y Jason great
Bananarama in both 1 and 2. Loved them in my childhood.
1984 version is the best! Love Lisa Stansfield, though!
you mean 1989
@@isaacperez_10 band aid started in 1984.
@@lessismore8533 yes but band aid II was in 1989
This song reminds me when I was a kid and life was just a playground. Loving parents, brother, sister, family and friends. I had it all and still have it all.
Even though I have lost lots of friends and family along the way, I love my life.
I love your viewpoint. We can be grateful for life now but still mourn what we have lost. Refreshing to see your take!
I have never heard this version, and I must say I am very impressed!
This is the most melodic version of all of them in my opinion.
By far the best version so many awesome voices
First one was better. But is this good.
this wipes the floor with Band Aid 20 & 30
coronavirus
Right on!! A Big Amen to that!!
The more I hear this the more it's growing on me ❄️🥰🌟
Even if I prefer and love the original and first version I love it because of Sir Cliff 😍❤️ and the message in the song is the same pray for the other ones the whole year not just at Christmas 🫶🙏 God bless
Sad that Queen could not be a part of this masterpiece
Bhatia … In 1984. a few months before this song was recorded, Queen had played in South Africa in Suncity not knowing, or not worrying that there was a white-only audience. This caused accusations of racism agains them and therefore they were not called to participate in this song. Then the controversy ended and Queen were invited to Live Aid 1985 and Freddie made the best live performance in the history of rock
@@Alex-gn9px I was really happy to see Roger in the new version
Bien c est même très bien mais j aime plus la version originale. C est peut-être de la nostalgie
@@martineplourde1752 No no. there were singer of higher nivel, with very particular voices !

let's feed the world and stop the wars.
This version's really got a good 'Pop' to it esp. due to the upbeat drums! Grace Chatto from Clean Bandit looks so pretty with her cello!
Great version. Stock, Aitken and Waterman and all the artists at their peak.
let's feed the world and stop the wars
Almost eighty years old and Cliff Richard always go and go working......
You know that you are old when you can remember when Cliff RIchard was in his forties (at the time of this song, he was a sprightly 49 year old).
never seen this version. Thank you for sharing - Kylie and Jason were two great Aussie singers at the time.
¿Men at Work, Inxs, Bee Gees, Midnight Oíl, Ac Dc? de verdad crees que Kilye y Jason son los dos mejores cantantes australianos? Créo que no tienes mucha idea de música
@@domingocarbonperal5712The Bee Gees are British. I think the OP means that in terms of promoting Australia to the world Kylie and Jason were great ambassadors. Men At Work are not in any way comparable to Kylie’s influence on the global pop stage.
Love this version. Bananarama so 🔥❤️
Keren and Sara were in the 1984 version to (with original band mate Siobhan Fahey)
@@KayleighNatasha Merry Christmas I just saw this today ! Will check it out thanks!
Kyile Minogue

It's the only version i keep listening to, every year.
Same it's my favorite
Oh, even after Christmas I am in love with Sonia 😁
This is the best version!
So funny seeing Sara & Keren from Bananarama laughing at Matt Goss and his dancing 3:13 LOL
YES!
🤣🤣🤣
I was thinking just that
I love Bananarama In this video
ye i get the impression that are thinking ' what a prick '
This is the best version by far, I love it! Shame it's forgotten by so many.
194 version?
Cakes will be sweeter if shared with many people🍰🎂!
Another fabulous version 😍 listening 2024❤
The 1984 version is allways better than other version we all have listen to....
I've always had a soft spot for this 1989 version although 1984 is best.
2004 version is decent. This is embarrassing.
@@desperatemohammedantheworl5833 true, but atleast this has more power then the 2014 version, still this is the worst one out of all of them

Is still like that over there
Shame those poor kids dying of hunger
Band aid 2 is the best
Bananarama on both this and the original.
This hit from Band Aid 2 was the 412th #1 song of the Rock Era in the United Kingdom. It was also the last #1 song in the UK of the 1980's and the first of the 1990's. The 80's are history and we are now in a new decade. What will the music scene be like in the UK in this new decade of the 1990's? Stay tuned.
Sublime vocals from Big Fun
this should be number 1
It was number one… in December 1989. In fact, at the time, it sold more copies than the original 1984 version, which inspired it.
@@wishkid79 It didn't sell more than the 1984 original. The original 1984 version was the biggest selling single of the decade.
The best version
I hope that we will hear the new version in 2024 :)
Band Aid 40!
This is such a brilliant, well written song with an arrangement second to none, it deserves a World where 'hunger' is no longer a word in any language. Thank you for posting.
It's a beautiful song in every version. Thank for the music, the message, the love, and the intention behind it to help our brothers and sisters who are in need.
Merry Christmas 2019 from Manchester United kingdom
.....that thick Stock, Aitken & Waterman sauce....
OMG Sonia with her cheeks, Lisa with her voice and Kylie with her Kylie 😍
Sorry but this is my favorite version, love the beat
Welcome to Dec 2023!
Peaked at #1 in U.K. on 17 December 1989
My favourite version,great band,unique years.Thanks,grazie
Kyle looking splendid. Kylie always looking splendid.
My all-time favorite version of this song is this one! Stock/Aitken/Waterman are at their best when they work with some of my most beloved 80s idols such as Kylie, Jason, Bananarama, Sonia, and Big Fun 🎄⛄🎅❣
Best version.
My favourite version 😀
Never heard this one !! Really good!!!! It’s so sad and heartbreaking to see these hurting people 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Queen❤️👑❤️ Forever i love
Can't beat the 1984 original but love the fact this has carried on, hope there's a band aid 40 coming.
Best version 😍
My favourite version for sure . Fantastic
Does anyone else, when they see Cliff, expect to see the Young Ones pop up?
No because a false allegation means absolutely nothing!
@@mrpussinboots4252 Huh?
Haha, I do now!
@@eclectica1 Why? It was proved to be nothing more than bogus allegations.
THIS " CHEAP IMITATION " MAKES THE ORIGINAL SOUND LIKE THE GREATEST SONG OF ALL TIME.
This is an excellent version in my opinion, the only truly pop version.
Great version. Video really makes an impact.
One of the best versions, i prefer this in a way to the original one, has Bros, kylie, marty pellow what more can you ask for. 😊
This version hardly gets shown on the music TV channels nower days in comparison to the time I started the tradition of mine of watching videos of Christmas songs on those back in 2006 (that time, they would the original, this second one and also Band Aid 20)
I was 12 when the original one came out and 17 at this release. I love both versions
I was 17 during the first Band Aid 22 during this one.
