- makin' wood slice wall art is a bit like putting together a puzzle. when i was looking at all the pieces of wood i had to choose from i knew there was a piece of art in there somewhere and all i had to do was move the pieces around and arrange them to try and find it.

yes Great grandfather. He would sure be proud!! I am proud of you and all you do with wood - and paint!
Thanks Dad! I appreciate that :)
Thanks for the inspiration. You are right about everyone’s looking different but you have a great eye.
Another great project. Thank you. Don't worry you do inspire with what you do 👍
What a beautiful bouquet of flowers..... all you need is a nose to smell the fragrance... looking straight down on the flowers.....
Interesting perspective. I really didn't think of that but I always enjoy hearing about what other people see in the art :)
It's always a pleasure to watch your videos, Scott. This one is no exception. There's always something new to take away from watching you develop and create your artwork. My first thought at the beginning where you displayed the subject wood in the wood pile was: Flashback to the 60's!!! Psychedelic Wood! I love the way you arrange your videos and blend the music, too.
It's been awhile since my last attempt at creating a hanging wall sculpture with hackmatack, but you've provided me with more ideas and inspiration to try another piece. Thank you for continuing to create, teach, and inspire all of us.
I've been telling friends about you and your CZcams channel, suggesting they watch your videos (many of them are local artists). I also noticed someone suggested in the comments below, they would like to know how and where you market your art. I too, think it would be good to know, and I would certainly love to direct folks in that direction.
Thank you!
Thanks Paul - Good to hear you're getting some ideas and inspiration from these videos. Thanks for letting your friends know about my channel, new viewers are always welcome. As far as marketing my work, I may be the worst at it. The reality is that I'm not really trying to sell any of the wood wall art pieces I'm making for the videos. I'm hoping to make a lot more and shoot videos for them and eventually put together a show where I can display a bunch of them together. No real hurry to do it though. For now I just enjoy having the majority of them in my house and enjoy looking at them daily. I also have some in a local office building here in Ventura, but none have price tags on them. However, I also have paintings in the office building (and at a local Italian restaurant) with price tags and some of those sell on occasion.

Hi Scott, I'm in the U.K.and have been experimenting with wood art after watching you videos, which I really love. Just wished we had some beautiful types of wood as you have in the States. Thank you and please keep the videos coming.
Nice one! I like it! Great job!
You yourself and your art. İm a big fan of your videos. 👏👏👏 thanx
Thanks - BTW, I really like your profile picture - I love PUGS!
The wood is beautiful, it speaks for itself. You have enhanced the beauty with your creativity. I have watched how you add the wire at the back and used the same technique on my pictures. Thank you.
Yes, when I first came across this wood I knew it had a lot of potential so this was one of the projects that I was really looking forward to doing :)
Thanks Scott, I have some pieces of juniper that I’ve been wanting to make something out of, and you’ve given me some direction and inspiration. I love your art!! :)
Great, I'm glad you found some inspiration. Good luck with your juniper project :)
beautiful art work Scott, like
I really like that---
I love all your wood art pieces
Thanks!
This is so cool! I have never seen anything like this before.
New to your channel, just subscribed
Great! Thanks for subbin' :)
Great job my friend 👍🏼
Thanks Tomas :)
Awesome work thanks
This is fabulous. You cut through that wood like it’s butter! Beautiful pieced. Did you know your great great grandfather (Frederickson) was a millwright in Copenhagen, Denmark. He had real talent cutting lumber. He built the Silver Dollar bar at Harold’s Club in Reno when it first opened. Then the bar was moved to a casino in tonopaugh, NV. We cannot find out if the bar still exists.
Yes, Dad told me about him building that bar. I think he's Dad's grandfather which would make him my great grandfather if I remember correctly. Anyway, it would be cool to see that bar one day if it still exists :)
Hello, Scott, I must say that I appreciate the way you appreciate nature, that you breathe life back into these dead woods and make them worth looking at. I watch your vids everyday. Thanks for your good works.
Thanks for watching :)
Another great piece. The wood is awesome can you give us some ideas on where to find wood to work with. Thanks for what you do!
I get a lot of my wood from Craigslist. I check the free section daily and wood/firewood seems to be given away a few times a week. I usually only go get it if there's pictures of it and I see some potential and its within about 20 miles from my house. I also go to a lot of garage sales, yard sales, moving sales, etc. and look for wood there. Sometimes they aren't even trying to sell it and just end up giving it to me or I offer them a few dollars for it. Other than that, I'm always keeping my eyes out for any other sources for free or inexpensive wood.
Lindo seu trabalho parabéns sou sua fã 😍
Muito obrigado Janayna :)
👍
Hi! Such a beautiful artwork. What's the thickness of the cut pieces? May be someday shall try my hands..,thanks to your inspiration..
I don't remember exact thickness but I usually aim for between 1 1/2" - 2" on average.
Good job amigo
my friend, ok ok ok!!!)))
Where can I find wood to work on?
P.S. We BOTH like this hairstyle the best on you!
muito bom esse trabalho, parabens
Muito obrigado :)
Nice work!! I'm assuming that you have an outlet to sell your creations. Care to share that info?
I'm not currently trying to sell any of the wall art wood pieces that I'm making videos for. I have some on display at a local office building here in Ventura, but none have price tags on them. I'm hoping to make a lot more pieces and shoot videos for them and eventually put together an art show where I can show a bunch of them together. No idea when this might happen though and I'm not in any hurry to do it. For now, my art show is here on youtube :)
What type of tree this pls tell
I believe it's Juniper.
Really I lost my time for this video
