    Nice to see someone use the benefit of automotive paint coatings on other things as well as cars.. excellent video Sandro! I’d hope for you to next make a video of a glass sealant used in the home for the use of a Perspex shower screen or something similar as I’m thinking of doing something along those lines for ease of cleaning :)

    Hey Sandro, thanks for the videos. I've only in the last few weeks found your channel but I've got to say you've really inspired me. I've always enjoyed cleaning my cars but I've never been satisfied with the finish and I've lacked the knowledge to do anything about it.
    I've watched a good few of your back catalogue over the last few weeks and can not wait to get back home and get stuck into my cars. I've not got a huge budget but I've been looking at random orbit rotating polishers and a few other brushes and the like and will be picking it all up when I'm back in a few weeks.
    I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty nervous about making matters worse! However, I'm just going to take it slow, start conservative and kick things off on my aging motorway mile muncher first. That would be my 2011 Mazda 6, it's a flecked black paint and is by far the most scratched and swirl-marked. The nice car is a 2013 Alfa Romeo Guilietta, it's gloss black with a slightly matt silver/grey roof and though it's got consistent swirls everywhere, it's nothing major and there's no scratches through the clear. Do you have any experience with either of these cars or the paint the manufacturers use? I know your Alfa is probably similar but not sure if the quality is the same or if their process changed.
    I wonder if you could give me a starter for 10? Obviously cleaning is the easiest bit, and the least invasive, so I think I'm OK with that. But once the prep is done, what kind of compounds and pads should I use for each car and could there be a one trick combo that could get me great results on both, is available in the UK and good enough (not in your usual vocabulary, I know!) for a rank amateur? I'd be keen to hear your thoughts.
    Keep up the great content! Now it's back to the helmet...

    Great video! Question, how would you go about fixing a deep ding the size of a grain of rice in a gloss finish helmet? Would you need to fill it with something and then polish? Also, how would you go about polishing like in this video but by hand?
    Thank you!

    • @CarCraftAutoDetailing
      @CarCraftAutoDetailing  Před rokem

      Thanks. Polishing by hand is really the same process, just using hand applicator pads and spending about 5-10 times long polishing in circular motion by comparison.
      It sounds like you may need to sand, use body filler, sand again and then apply primer, base coat and clear coat to fill and finish a ding. But that’s honestly not my area of expertise and I’d also be a little worried that the ding hasn’t compromised the helmets crash protection integrity.

    Hey Sandro! Great video as usual. I did have a question related to a previous video - “A Guide to Restoring Car Paint”
    In that video, you used Scholl S3 Gold XXL and S30+, which I have been using and falling in love with lately. I tend to deal with a fair amount of soft/soft black vehicles and S30+ has been doing well, however I’ve only been using it on an orange HDO polishing foam. Occasionally I will see some pig tails in the paint that sometimes go away with another pass and slightly more pressure. I was going to try it with a black HDO finishing foam like you used in the video, but Scholl recommends against that. I’m assuming it’s because they’re afraid the abrasives won’t fully break down? Assuming you use S30+ often, or have in the past, how do you feel it works with the softer finishing pads on difficultly soft clears?
    Thank you!

      Thank you for the reply!
      Obviously I know it depends, but what would you say is your “go-to” or general favorite finishing polish combo on soft/sensitive/finicky vehicles? I like Reflect a lot, especially before coating because it is so clean to work with, but found it to be difficult to get it to finish down perfectly at times.

      A waterless wash product like Carpro Ech2O (1:15) is what I personally use.
      I did a video on using it to clean my bike, but the same techniques are used to clean the helmet as well. It can also help to use compressed air (if you have it) to blow the surface of the helmet first which can remove most of the debris first - even some bugs - before the waterless wash. Here a link to that video:

    Hey sandro. I just got back into motorcycling after a few years away. I have around half a bottle of Cquartz uk so was thinking of hitting my new bike with it. How much of it should I do? all painted surfaces and frame, Headlights and rear lights, wheels?. I have seen some on redit apply it to the exhaust can and engine. What would you recommend? i have some dlux too which I will use on the unpainted plastic trim pieces.

    • @CarCraftAutoDetailing
      @CarCraftAutoDetailing  Před 9 měsíci

      Helmet is in great condition, a ceramic coating will not effect any safety or degrade the finish at all, it will however give better UV protection and a longer lasting like new condition 🙂
