One of those quattros lived in norway,to bad it has been sold now.I think it is in a collection in sweden, never to be driven again. I belive it was number 13,dont quote me on that. fun to see it again waffe
This type of rallying is called "crossover" - it's one continuous track, with one "inside loop" and an "outside" loop, where the outside loop crosses over the inside loop on the first lap, and runs under the crossover bridge on the second lap. Fastest overall time to get through 2 laps wins. Mid-race Splits show lopsided times since the inside starter nearly always posts the fastest 1st lap time....
thats a bit harsh, stig is a master of left foot braking which is essential to driving the quattro on the limit, sainz will be able to do it but has not got the advantage of 3 seasons driving the quattro
@NeighborOfTheBeast89 Carlos could have beaten Stig, after all Kankkunen and Salonen beat Blomqvist in the Audi Quattro S1 and they've never driven that car before.
How embarrassing for Carlos: take a REAL driver is made of! The result would have been the same had it been Sainz vs. Mikkola, Alen, Rohrl, Vatanen, Salonen .... sorry... the list is endless...
This is epic, and I will cherish clips like this for ever. -Memories of a long past event and class.
Group B cars rule, and the person that the race of champions is made for..Henri Toivonen/Sergio Cresto R.I.P.
it was all about precision!
carlos sainz.. es el puto amo!!!

Most of things on earth are about precision :)
There's no way Sainz could win, Blomqvist was a lot more experienced in that car

this is what race of champions should be,gravel and tarmac, and group b cars...not all tarmac. Variable cars is good but all tarmac not so good.

los espanoles tienen escusas para todo. Sainz fue excelente pero no siempre.
