  • My 1987 Honda 350d was smoking / burning oil… the previous owner had installed a new piston or maybe just new rings incorrectly. Wiseco piston was an obvious upgrade!

    Nice, I had back surgery last year so in my downtime I fixed up a pair of 87 honda 250s and made them look like they rolled out of the showroom. Right around 2000 invested and sold them this spring for 8000. Not a bad way to spend a could weeks in the garage

      Congrats on that solid flip! I’m going to keep this bike as a Survivor for now. Unfortunately the rear fenders have some cracking which kills the value

      @@RaztechPowersports I would have loved to keep them but with 4 kids and a restricted income at the time selling them was the best option. They seemed to go to a good home and hopefully they will be around for years to come.

    I have the same 4wheeler and those cam shaft bolts backed out and starting hitting on the head and eventually snapped off.

    Is the rocker/valve cover gasket an easy replacement? Mine leaks and drops on the exhaust headers and stinks when hot

    • @RaztechPowersports
      @RaztechPowersports  Před rokem

      Yes, it’s just rtv silicone

      @@RaztechPowersports really so there now actual gasket. So if I remove the valve cover and put a bead of RTV down I'm good to go?

    • @RaztechPowersports
      @RaztechPowersports  Před rokem +1

      @@martinmoran89 correct, the top rocker cover is only rtv silicone. Just give it time to set and you’ll be good. Also check to see is the rocker arm o rings are leaking (that’s the 2 strews on the side on the cover).

      @@RaztechPowersports would you advise that the RTV has a little time to set before putting the cover on?

    Awesome ATV rebuilds video. Are you up for a collaboration? Hipa supplies affordable small engine parts for go-karts and ATVs and we are looking for youtubers to work with to help people knowing one more source that would help the DIY repairers find the parts they need easier and more affordable.

      @@caseman91 yeah these old Hondas have a pretty rich fuel mixture. Upgraded piston has a better compression ratio than stock, but doesn’t need 93.
