We Do Lighting Better Because We Test! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Biased review from the very first seconds. Not surprised to find a link to buy BD products in the description. This is advertising disguised in scientific comparaison 🤥
But are the BD's better and worth the money? What are your opinions?
@@eddyangueira4369BD cost 200 times more than the knock offs. If you aren't able to come to your own conclusions baja designs are worth 200X more on your own. Well maybe you should be behind the wheel driving.
Psst. BAJA DESIGNS ARE NOT 200 TIMES BETTER THAN THE KNOCK OFFS.
Only thing going for them is the BD is made in the USA.
Well assembled in the US out of foreign parts
@@CZcams-ADMlN Stop exaggerating. It's not 200 times. 6-7 at most.
@@coreyalfredson7986 SMH comprehension doesn't exist these days. Reread and stop talking like you know ish when you dont know ish.
As a current owner of both legit LP6 & LP9 and many temu knock offs for the I think id know wassup
And you my friend don't know wassup.
As my point was baja designs cost 200 times more than the knockoffs. But ARE *NOT* 200 TIMES BETTER.
@@CZcams-ADMlNyou're an idiot. You talk about comprehension yet you exaggerate a price being 200 times more. It's not.
What's wrong with heat shrink? Isn't that how you're supposed to waterproof your wiring connections? Also, can you guys try some European brands like Strand Lighting. They have some awesome-looking products. I'd love to see how they compare
I’d buy the budget ones as I can get 10 of them for the same price
Just a thought.... Compare the OvsAuto Laser Spot to any hyperspot fixture. I bet they'd be alot closer in performance.
Also, while testing against the wall is good for repeatability and comparability, perhaps it might be worth considering setting up a range with half circles marked out in 25 ft increments from Centre. Place some random foam figures at various positions to replicate actually shwackin through the bush and you'd have a great combo of tested and realworld performance!
Have 3 LP6s on my car and its the best light I've ever had. IMHO, the color temperature makes a huge difference vs competitors. Can't wait to see you test BD new Squadron SAE fog vs competition....maybe even test with a fog machine? I have DD pro and seems hindsight I would have been better off with the sport or max due to better cut-off.
That's a good idea!
Can you guys try some mid tier stuff like the auxbeam light bars they have a projector in them giving a lot of range
We can add it to the list!
Great video, thanks for sharing.
You're welcome!
Not everyone has hundreds to spend...wheres the peasant video😂
I would like to see an actual comparison Outdoors at night time. I have watched other videos with brighter pods when you actually see them outside i thought some of the dimmer pods had a better spread
I have the Northern Ridge lights that are also Baja knockoff's, they are pretty good for the price.
Have you guys tested Lazerlamps they are a UK brand, seems like pretty good lights as well.
We have not tested that brand yet.
I feel like a more honest comparison is to look at the lux per dollar paired with a strict pattern value. If it is two times the light at 5 times the cost of a cheaper option, the value may bee something to consider.
My 589Fab winch bumper and 10k Warn winch with synthetic rope, combined cost less than 2 LP6’s and 2 LP4’s. Make it make sense.
I’m sure they are extremely good lights but comparing them to the worst lights available isn’t fair. There are several, very good budget brands that costs 1/4 of BD
We know there are some great budget friendly brands on the market, we're just giving our opinions on which ones we prefer and why!
In all honesty, this video didnt serve to dissuade me from buying these lights, theyve pursuaded me to buy them. Are they as good as the $500 LP6? Of course not. But for 5-8x less money? They do pretty good. And if you do want quality and you're okay spending big boy money on a light, the BD isn't the move anyway. Morimoto shits on BD for less money.
Definitely a solid option for budget builds, and we love us some Morimoto!
Lol no they dont, the lp6 build quality and fit and finish is incredible too.
@@jonnymac8925 no they don't what? There's multiple statements in there. And fit and finish? Is this the new smooth-brain anthem for you don't really know anything but you want to sound like you do?
Strange you didnt mention the price of the Baja Designs. Crazy that a light that is 10X the price is better.
That was the whole point of testing knock offs! Good lights aren't cheap, but sometimes you can find good pods for a great budget!
Do auxbeam next
Noted!
How about the new roadshock edge lights from harbor freight?
Haven't tried 'em, but we can add them to the list!
@@HeadlightRevolution I'll have to keep an eye out for it
its okay to talk up on the Baja Designs (you are selling), but why talk trash on other brands intentionally with out much to back the statements up? Did you guys keep the camera settings the same between the comparison? Seems like they are drastically different, it would be wise to disclose the exposure settings to show the comparison was done right and fair.
also, heat shrink wiring joints have worked great for me for the past 3 years on all my lighting connections on and off-road.
wonder if one can dislike the video twice lol
We always keep testing done in a stable environment, same settings, same placement, same tests, etc. We've been testing lights for years, we know different exposures can cause different results. 👀 We have included these details in other videos, but most people don't seem to care about those details only want BRIGHT!! Which is why we do our best in these tests to show not only brightness, but the actual usability of the light. The truth is most cheaper brands aren't made to the same quality or specs compared to someone like Baja Designs. Not to mention, the difference in customer support or warranties will be night and day.
@@HeadlightRevolutionthese are all important factors you failed to mention in the video
The new Roadshock Edge lights and even the 3" spot pods are very nice for the money. You're comparing crappy Scamazon lights... not fair review 💩
Most knock-offs are crappy Amazon brands... but thanks for the suggestion!
@HeadlightRevolution not true at all, that's why I rarely watch your biased videos
You guys should look into getting a lumen sphere. They can be expensive but I'm sure you could make one for cheaper. It would really step up your game in terms of comparisons. A lot of these lights dominate via pure output and not candela (peak brightness), you're results don't capture that unfortunately. I would like to know how they compare in overall unable light and also throw.
Lumen tubes are often used as a cheap way to measure brightness. You guys could easily make a large lumen tube, even if it's just to approximate brightness (not perfect lumen measurements). Here is an example of what I mean. czcams.com/video/xOE1ykJ5WAU/video.htmlsi=rL2-5ZGUSM02LbnO
$60 vs $600
And the numbers speak for themselves 😉
Buy once cry once
@@SpookyMontero bank account says you'll cry for a very very long time. I got myself the cheaper $100 pair, rather than the $1200 pair. It's okay.
Sure, I'll probably upgrade in the future, but it's not that bad as I doubt it's that big of a difference
Baja design wins races
True but 95% of the ppl watching these vids are only racing to the mall for a car meet lol.
Brighter, Bolder, and Better ✔
Say it louder for those in the back! 👏🏻
No, you did not test all the brightest Pod lights,
Beat the Stedi TypeX Evo and the brightest ones from light fore.
We'll have to look into those!
Honestly, the LP6 doesn't look that bright! Have you guys heard of Lazer Lamps? They are my favorite.
We'll have to look into those!
using them in a room doesn’t do justice to how bright they would be in the real world. i’m going all baja designs on my can am x3 due to the difference in actual light output and how versatile they are. i’ve seen my 10 inch onx6 beat out 30 or even 40 inch light bars other people use on their machines and i have amber squadrons that i use in the meantime till i get my pair of amber lp6s that i’m going to mount on a bumper. baja designs is pricey but you’re paying for the quality not the quantity. there are stuff that may be brighter but how reliable they are is the difference. i’m gonna order a 50 inch onx6 dual control light bar to use when i’m leading group rides and use only the amber on the light at when i’m following people. for me the difference is very justifiable if you’ve seen them in person i didn’t believe the difference either till i tried them out on my own. even a 50 inch onx6 vs a kc pro6 50 inch has a drastic difference. kc is more spot but baja is more all around. you can achieve the same spot effect with the baja designs if you swap to the spot only lens but then you don’t get the wide cornering on the sides. plus being able to swap lenses to achieve the beam pattern or color you want is a huge plus since you don’t have to buy another light bar or pods to get an amber or spot or driving combo.
