  • DIFFERENT VIEW- Tuesday 4/7/09 at Augusta National Golf Course during Masters practice round on hole 16. A different viewpoint, shot from behind 16th tee. Vijay skips ball across water. Watch crowd stand up when it appears the skip balls going in. Golfer Ken Duke was lined up to skip the ball after Vijay, but had a great reaction to the Ace. Then he walked off without hitting a skip ball himself, refusing to follow that show! Camera gets jostled when crowd starts cheering. Vijay gets high-five from caddy. Crowd went wild.

It's like the old saying, 'the more I practice, the luckier I get'.
There was no one that spent as much time on the practice area as Vijay.

It's been done a 100 times just in the Par 3 tourney which is what we are watching and talking about in the above video clip. The Masters itself has recorded 23 holes in one at the 16th in it's history. Try to have some intelligence about a subject before posting shit on here. +William Anderson yup. i was an mvp basketball player back in high school. one of the typically considered "toughest"; sports. I also played and understand football (american and world), baseball, etc other major sports. That said, I took up golf recently this year. 10 times harder than any sport I've ever put serious time and effort into. No 3 pointer, long distance strike, touchdown bomb, home run, whatever you like, can compare to the precision it takes to get that golf ball all the way there and into the smallest target. I mean, one single hole is roughly going to be 3 times the length of a football field, and you're trying to read how the tiniest ball of all is going to react off 14 different types of devices you use to hit it. And believe it or not, it's the first sport I've ever really felt the need to improve strength and flexibility just to try and compete.

***** He absolutely did aim and intend to skip it onto that part of the green, the design of the green makes the ball swing around to the hole. They've been skipping balls onto this green for years and put the pin in that location on the pre tournament practice days on purpose now.

+ouroboris It was essentially from the tee. This was during a practice/exhibition round. They dropped their balls on the rough in front of the usual tee box and tried to skip their balls across the water instead of the usual shot you would do on this hole for the crowd. You can see the front edge of the tee box in the video.
