  • When he toured the Princess V55 at the 2019 Southampton Boat Show, Jack struggled to find any fault with the way it's put together - but can it live up to such high standards out on the open water? In this video, we find out...

    Your highly qualified, professional and uncompromisingly honest presentation makes you one of the most desired presenters, at least for these who want to know the truth. Your handling of the boat is very impressive and besides your channel there is another channel THE BOAT SHOW which is more oriented into driving performance but still is very interesting. However, you are winner hands down and I would recommend your channel to anyone who wants to learn the real things about boats you present. Thanks a lot and all the best.

    I think the front seat, detached sunbed and walkthrough works well on a Y-class, or the biggest F/V-classes.
    'We haven't got the cushions layed out but you get the idea'. Hmm no actually. He's said in other videos he's 6'1" and I wanted to see if this bow deck layout is an affectation or actually works at this size of boat. Sadly still wondering, but suspect it barely does and surprised they pull that on people spending this much. They don't spend that based off photos surely?

    Been looking forward to this test since your first video on it.
    Question on the galley storage/practicality; where on Earth do you store the crockery - plates and bowls etc?! Presumably there’s storage under the seats in the saloon? Every video I’ve seen on this boat doesn’t show it and I refuse to believe Princess would have overlooked such an opportunity for extra storage. Thanks

      Motor Boat & Yachting thanks for replying. I guess it could be used for that - I’d be surprised as normally you’d have fixings to help secure the plates and bowls. It’s a V boat and they’d be making an awful racket without being securely fixed.
      I also find it surprising that there’s the possibility that Princess wouldn’t exploit the significant extra storage potential of placing drawers under the saloon seating, whether it be crockery or anything else. Maybe it’s an optional extra? 🤷‍♂️

The boat that pulls alongside cargo ships to guide them to dock has “pilot” and not “driver” painted on it’s side. …. the helm station in a trawler is called a pilothouse not a driver house…. don’t understand why in so many videos the boat professional uses the term “drive”….

    3:46 - A crew cabin? Seriously? I could see how it might be fun for kids of the owner and/or guests to sleep in there, but C'MON! 'Place to Stow Adult Human Being(s) That We Don't Give a Shit About' is a more fitting name than 'Crew Cabin'.

    • @darthkek1953
      @darthkek1953 Před 2 lety +1

      A crew cabin is just a place for an overnighter captain to bunk so you can drink, or a chef, or as overflow accommodation for a teenager or a single adult. Yes, you wouldn't have that as crew space for very long term crew, but for an overnight crash it's fine. You know, especially if you're being PAID to be there.

      This cruises at 25 knots. Silent Yachts cruise at 5 knots... providing it is sunny. The batteries only store power, you still need power from somewhere. Does it look like a Silent Yacht would be getting much charge in the conditions shown? If not you're running the diesel generator.
