Ive quit coffee due to having my first panic attack a few months ago. I used to be obsessed with iced coffee until that happened. But I found green tea doesn’t seem to give me panic attacks so I’m dabbling in it.
Recently, Ive been buying those “Oi Ocha, Ito En” unsweetened green tea bottles at the store. I’m not sure if this is frowned upon, considering how corporate I assume the manufacturing process for that product is, but i LOVE the bitter/acidic taste of it and I NEED more. Problem is, the import tax on them makes the bottles I buy REALLY overpriced at my local store so I want to explore making similar tea at home. The generic green tea bags I’ve tried really sucked, dont have that same amber color, or have matcha in them (so far, I think I hate matcha). But Im looking to get that EXACT flavor profile but I can’t seem to find it.
Does anyone know where I could get tea bags or tea leaves to get as /close/ to the “Oi Ocha Ito En Unsweetened Green tea” flavor as possible?

First off, I'm so glad to hear the switch to green tea has helped you so much! Have you tried brewing your own tea? We have a whole assortment of all the best teas we've found in Japan and we offer free worldwide shipping. If you are in the US or the EU we can definitely get it to you without customs fees. These sencha teas will be an upgrade from the Ito en stuff but still provide the acidity you like: nioteas.com/collections/sencha-tea

@@Nioteas Thanks a lot for the help! these all seem great but I’m a bit overwhelmed with choice! Do you have any specific sencha bags to recommend? (I like the idea of a more bitter sencha tea if that helps)

I'm not AT ALL interested in flavor profiles. I am interested in effects, particularly effects on cognition, mood, and energy levels, and in differences between different teas _in those areas_
I wish that kind of information were more available. I do not care if the tea tastes like medicine or like spiced honey or like pistachio ice cream. I literally don't care at all. I'm after the effects.

I think all tea is pretty good for you so I would just recommend finding one you like so you can look forward to drinking it everyday

Nearly all tea cultivars exist to produce certain flavour profiles. If you want to research medicinal properties then you’ll have to do the research yourself.
