The reason why sonic is luigi here is based on the ending to sonic 2 sepcificly the bad ending where sonic fails to save tails thus ending in a ending where sonic looks up at the sky to see tails “ghost”

Ngl it would make more sense if tails sent it cause Luigi is the sidekick of mario and tails is the side kick of sonic and like sonic would keep fighting eggman then eggman creates prey after becoming starved eggman and sonic gets caught and tails just sings alone
No because St*rveds lore is pure garbage, and it happened during Sonic CD so it wouldn't make sense because he didn't meet sonic yet, + alone is based on official media, so it would make sense for it to be based on official media (Sonic 2 8 bit bad ending)
