  • Discover What's So Special About Hells Canyon - One of Most Beautiful Places On Earth!
    Welcome to Hells Canyon!
Hells Canyon National Recreation Area is heaven on earth to the hikers, campers, rafters and boaters who have experienced its many faces.
Hells Canyon, North America's deepest river gorge, encompasses a vast and remote region with dramatic changes in elevation, terrain, climate and vegetation. Carved by the great Snake River, Hells Canyon plunges more than a mile below Oregon's west rim, and 8,000 feet below snowcapped He Devil Peak of Idaho's Seven Devils Mountains. There are no roads across Hells Canyon's 10-mile wide expanse, and only three roads in the state that lead to the Snake River between Hells Canyon Dam and the Oregon-Washington boundary.
Trip tip: Be on the lookout for bear, elk, mule deer, big horn sheep and eagles as well as wild flowers, ancient pictographs and log cabins left by prospectors, miners and 19th century settlers.

OMFG I love this episode so much! My family stopped for a breathtaking scenic view of Hells Canyon on our way elsewhere. (A long time ago!) This video shows what we would have seen had we stayed to explore! Oregon is so diverse, you could spend years exploring it and still find new things. Another great video, thank you!!

This is so awesome you guys! I am going to visit my son in the Boise area, we are leaving early Saturday morning and I want to go through there! I’ve lived in Oregon for over 40 years and have only just seen the painted hills, but have never really been into that area. I am so excited I have no words lol! That tavern sounds like just my kind of place. I would make friends for life there I’m positive😆🙌🏼

That is awesome. Hope you have a fantastic time. It literally feels like you are in another world. It’s not the Oregon you may be used to that is for sure. Keep us posted. Would love to know what you thought about it.

@@adventuresofjandk Definitely do! It’s pretty incredible. I definitely recommend taking a paddle board or boat of some kind- the lake is massive and I’m sure there is so much to take in from the vantage point of being on the water.
A lot of people park their rigs and head out for days on the lake (Owyhee reservoir,) docking and camping all over. I want to see what they see!! We also saw a bunch of side by sides going up the buttes and bluffs etc around the area- I bet they also see some incredible stuff!

And that's what happens when thousands of years of ice age comes to an end. Glacial dams burst repeatedly, releasing trillions of tons of water that gouged out the land and dumped the minerals as far away as Arkasas.
This place is the most incredible place that I have ever seen, unfathomly massive, breathtaking and the only State that I would leave the UK to live in.
Thank you for posting this global scale splendour

When we first moved to Enterprise in 04 they used to have a bear and rattlesnake feed at the Imnaha tavern. You weren't to far from Lord's Flat which is still considered an active runway. Aboutv8 years ago we rode 4 wheelers out there. About 9 hour round trip.

Twin falls is along the Snake River Canyon. Hells Canyon divides Idaho and Oregon. The Snake River flows through both canyons but they are not the same canyon.

Hells Canyon is the deepest canyon/gorge in North America at 7,900 ft deep. Jaw droppingly gorgeous, very remote and wild. The Grand Canyon at its deepest is 6000 deep.
