Easily my favourite takedown also! Been hitting this since i was a white belt. It was the first takedown i really started to hit. Im a purple belt now.

Nice, that overly defensive posture also opens up a shoulder throw(they can't stop you from turning your back for the thro that far away) and an arm drag into a firemans carry.

Excellent have to try it, I usually go with an arm drag to a judo tani otoshi ( sitting takedown) being bigger and older than the average bjj player ( 6'2/260/ 50 yrs old )

I believe he meant the knee that hits the ground. Mat is okay. Hard ground not okay.
Try to hit the ground flat with your shin, should help.

Hey chew ,I didn't know how else to msg you, I have been down this rabbit hole of bjj/gjj on CZcams.I have always wanted to do a martial art and think bjj would be a good fit. When I lose weight I will pull the trigger, my question revolves around me being 5'4 180lbs and feeling as though I would just get in the way of bigger guys, any thoughts, thanks ahead of time.
I started training in January at 6'1" 315lbs. Now down to 280. Don't wait to lose weight, just start training.
He'd tell you to just do it and stop using that as a wall for yourself
If you wait to lose weight you’ll never start…..that said jump on the intermittent fasting train you’ll lose weight and feel great. Good skill 🔥
