With only 60 sq ft our tiny house on wheels has always amazed us with just how many people we can fit in there! And we've JUST readjusted to living full-time in our sprinter van again, this week we test its capacity with a third human!!! We will all travel across the country of Morocco (living, traveling, sleeping, cooking & POOPING 💩 in 1 van). Could you live in such tight quarters with two other people?!

BACK TO #vanlife and it feels so good! So good, in fact, that we put our love for tiny living to the test by inviting our pal Larry along for a few days of van adventuring in Morocco.

We're Eamon and Bec, a Canadian couple who lived and traveled full-time in our self converted Sprinter Van for three years!! When the pandemic hit in 2020 we made the difficult decision to abandon our van in Africa and fly home to Canada. We ended up living at a cabin in the Canadian wilderness! But now that restrictions have eased we've made the trip back to Morocco to resume van life in Africa!! It's going to take some time to readjust to tiny living but we are SO excited to be back to van life!

I admire Eamon’s attitude and confidence in how he is with people while traveling in other countries. To see him stand up to the police and make sure he isn’t getting taken advantage of then inviting people over to their van and giving rides to strangers. He doesn’t let the negative moments with people abroad steal the love and kindness he offers to strangers. It’s so encouraging and inspiring!

OK is it just me or did anyone else’s heart break when they pulled away and Chan the dog just looked at them like “ hey wait a minute guys you forgot me” :( poor dude..
Ohhhh… I felt so bad for Chang… poor little pup! He was looking around like “where’s everyone going?” You guys probably gave him the best few days he’s had in a long time
Same, my heart was broken 💔 but I know first hand it’s impossible to help every stray dog, my country has lots of them and it’s just sad 😞

Why did I just bawl like baby about CHAN 😭😭 when he gave him the final treat I swear his little heart thought he was coming for the journey 😭😭 love your videos but that super distracted me from the happiness of this one. That’s the one part of van life that would be hardest for me I think, I’d want to take in all the animals, that became family like this sweet boy !

There is a woman in Rabat that works with street dogs finding them homes and vet care. I will post info here. Next time I go to Morocco I am packing a suitcase of things for them

I agree with you. My heart broke and I said to myself, “they love dogs, why can’t they find this sweet boy a home”. I am angry that they can just leave him behind and go have fun.
Me too, I think I would have a hard time travelling in places with lots of stray dogs because I would just try and find them all a home or take them myself LOL my van would have 7 dogs in it

I always love your videos and enjoyed this one up to the point when you drove off on Chan after feeding him and gaining his trust. My heart broke for him, I haven’t been able to get it out of my head since. 💔😢
I think the fact they knew his name is a sign that he is popular in the area. I'm sure a lot of people feed him and that's why he's friendly with strangers. He'll be okay. :)
You are supposed to pay the officer at the stop. It’s $150 dirhams if you pay there and $300 if you pay after and they have to keep you DL until you pay. I would just pay at the stop, you get a receipt… also it’s a lot cheaper than what you would pay for not wearing a seat belt in Canada or the USA… also, wear your seatbelts! Lol love you guys!

A van from Canada and a van from Germany meet in Morocco for some great times. I know (and you have thankfully shown) it's not all puppy dogs and sunshine and everything, but if anyone ever needed an advertisement for vanlife, this would certainly be it. Awesome!

Btw you were not double charged for the seatbelt infraction fine, in Moroccan law it is between 300 and 500 dirham (so betwen 32$ and 54$ which not a lot) so you were given the minimun charge. You can look it up.

That's super true once i was fined in Morocco iam Moroccan myself i don't even look like a tourist they made me pay 500dh but it wasn't a problem cuz my uncle is a head judge so he saved me lol

Thanks for showing the negative parts to ie. "scams"- sometimes when I see perfect travel videos I think maybe I am just not experienced or knowledgeable enough for it to not happen to me while traveling. But it's nice to know these things happen to everyone while travelling but that it's important to not let it ruin the experience!
Totally!! I’m so glad you’ve mentioned this. The truth is that traveling in a van really exposes you to a lot more of a country (the good and the bad) so we think it’s important to share both sides 😊 hopefully it makes you feel a little less alone and a little more confident to keep on traveling 😂

Possible solution to the guest sleeping issue: Install 2 heavy duty anchor points through the interior roof to the frame so you can hang a hammock. Plus a 2nd person could sleep on the floor if needed.

This really helped make my day. My dog Doc was put to sleep a couple of days ago at the age of 15. Been feeling a bit down and with my middle child having croup. This helped make me feel better. Enjoy the week!
It is the hardest thing to do to release your beloved soulmate & dearest friend. for me the burden of continuing pain & never ending deep heartache & loss I will weather knowing that they are not suffering. I don’t matter, they did, and still do.

Great video as always! Just so you know for next time, the fine for not wearing a seat belt could actually be 300 to 500 Dirhams, 300 if you're not wearing it and 500 if your car is missing it all together. Also, unlike Canada where you pay for your ticket at the office, in Morocco, you have the option of paying on the spot or you can go pay in the office if you choose to. Just make sure you get a receipt from the cop so you know he did not pocket the money.

Thanks for looking out for us. We did try to ask this cop to take us to the office but he kind of freaked out and said no... then, he made a receipt on the spot so I guess he was legit
@@eamonandbec I liked how Eamon was firm with the cop and demanded he take you guys to the office because a lot (not all) of cops in Morocco are corrupt. However, he won't take you to the office himself if you choose not to pay on the spot, that's because the office could be miles away. The way it works is, you get a ticket and they keep your drivers licence which you will only get back after you pay. To avoid the hassle, just make sure you carry some cash with you because as I am sure you noticed traffic cops are everywhere in Morocco lol I always end up paying a few speeding tickets whenever I visit.

it's hard to see all the street dogs and not bring them along or to a shelter (yeah, there may not be one). I couldn't go so many places you all go b/c I can't handle seeing it
Yes, it's definitely very challenging to see but it is a part of travel in places like Morocco (unfortunately)

When I lived in Spain, in the late 70s (showing my age) I also adopted a black n white Border Collie. Called him Timmy, from Enid Blyton. When we returned to Australia I found him a really good home. He met me as a street dog and I left him living like a King
