Nah, it keeps it lasting longer and avoids it from becoming heat saturated by exhaust manifolds. Also, it allows for more compact packaging. If you have a 1uz with relatively low mileage and a bad starter, thats a huge red flag lol.
strange question but is their only two bolts holding the starter motor in. i removed then but the starter is not for moving you can move the engine with the start it that stuck
Its honestly not that bad of a job because by the time youre doing it, lots of other stuff in there needs replacing anyways so it kills a lot of birds with that stone.
True but where I’m using the Collins kit, the starters have trouble engaging so I want an easier solution if I need to get in and out of there more than just major maintenance.

Yeah, there were only 2. It may need shimmied out because it does sit pretty tight in there.
