- Canadian Blackforest 8 day Westminster clock with German works. A wonderful looking and tremendously sonoras sounding clock. A stunning beauty produced sometime before 1921 since that's when the name Blackforest got changed. So it's at least 87 years old. It keeps excellent time and it's in pretty good shape.

I have this exact clock , from the reasearch i' v done it is 1928 not 1921.
Wan't bet i can tell it was made in 1928 it was my grandmother mother it works perfect !!!
Just goes to show that if a clock is made right, there's no need for 5 rods on that gong... only need 4 and you can still get a good strong hour strike using 2 of them !! Lovely video... thanks !

Not that many clocks play in the key of C major like this one. The melody consists of C, D, E, and G, and the hour strike is a C major chord in the second inversion.

I have this same clock, similar shape case and dial, but very plain case with no added filigree trim. The chimes are indeed lovely. Like a much larger clock. I'll post a video of it chiming when I have a chance.

I haven't had that clock for 7 or 8 years now and don't remember the size. But it was probably a #6. That's a pretty common size. If you don't want to take a chance getting a #6 and find out it's not that then try getting a multi sized set of sizes. Try getting one from here -> www.clockworks.com/product/5-prong-clock-key-set.

Schön klingt zwar nicht so schwer wie eine Bodenstanduhr aber top ich hätte auch gerne so ein Teil aber meine Uhr hat nur ein bim Bam werk leider ist das Werk zu schade zum wegwerfen sonst hätte ich von Selva so ein Werk eingebaut Habe ein Gustav Becker Regulator und Ärger mich schon über eine Gangabweichung von 15 Sekunden in der Woche

@@ChetGeorge The clock in this video really has the sound of superb quality. I have an old clock, well over 120 years old. It does not have a second hand, so I don't know precisely how accurate it is, but I very rarely need to reset it. It is a wall clock, and only strikes the hour and half hour, but has an elegant design with a portrait bust of Jenny Lind (I'm pretty sure that's who it is) at the top of the arched hood. It came from my grandfather's house, and it had been in the family.
