- The movie where Harold Lloyd blows off two fingers by holding a prop bomb that turned out to be a real bomb. But this movie is no bomb, a clever and funny story, with ghosts, intrigue and a very happy ending.
Music improvised by Dominick Carelli on piano and Vlad Shvartsman on cello. Neither has ever seen this movie before, and are making up the soundtrack as they watched. - Hudba
Harold had a prop bomb blow up in his hand and he lost two fingers and his face was badly burned while this was being made. He recovered and after a lengthy pause, the film was completed and released in 1920. Also, Dee Lampton, who played the Butler, died of an appendicitis at the age of 20, he was in 55 films.
Typical of movies of this period, the "spooks" part of the plot is actually very short, with the bulk of the running time taken up by other short stories - the rich girl and her father, Harold's suicide attempts, and the drive to get to the house with the chicken gags.
Way back in the sixties and seventies, my two lovely daughters loved Harold who was shown regularly on TV here in England. Always been a fan.Love Buster Keaton jujst as much. Kind regards.
