He recovered and after a lengthy pause, the film was completed and released in 1920. Also, Dee Lampton, who played the Butler, died of an appendicitis at the age of 20, he was in 55 films.

Typical of movies of this period, the "spooks" part of the plot is actually very short, with the bulk of the running time taken up by other short stories - the rich girl and her father, Harold's suicide attempts, and the drive to get to the house with the chicken gags.

@@mellocello Gotcha! Well, if you don't mind, would you check out one more? This is not live, it's the studio cut of, "10538 Overture", which is actually ELO's very first song! It's very cello-heavy, and I'd love to hear your feedback. The lyrics are a bit hard to make out, but they tell the haunting tale of an escaped convict, Prisoner #10538, who's on the lam and seeking refuge (unsuccessfully) in his hometown. Somebody drops a dime on him and the police are in pursuit. While trying to flee and hide, I'm afraid, it doesn't end well for him. @@Cosmo-Kramer I gave it a listen, and the cello sounds a bit like from the Beatles's Walrus, so I see why you made the connection. The sound is a bit too heavy on the mids (I like my mids turned almost to naught) and sounds almost like a brass instrument. The intonation is good, but not great.
