- Recorded 9:45 AM Wednesday Jan 16th. The tune is the Great Gordon Duncan's "Pressed for Time" from the album "The Circular Breath". Put about 48 hours into this one so far. Haven't tried it on the pipes, but I'm not too sure that this tune would sound as good on the pipes as it does on smallpipes. Anyway, fun tune I'm trying to work in. Feel like I'm coming along okay. Not to Duncan's blazing 23,000 BPM tempo, but I feel the the proper tempo one should play ANY tune is the tempo they can do it with as few mistakes as possible. (Also note the stylish Clan Donnachaidh sweatshirt. Totally unintentional!!! God rest you Duncan!)
Not ony the piping is great, but the sound is superb. The buzzy drones are incredible. This is a perfect advertisement for the Walsh shuttle pipes.
Cheers man! Thanks for the compliment! I need to get back in on the comps big time. Want to go professional. Just found an open grade teacher to work with, so hopefully that will be a reality ... Fingers crossed ...
Thank you very much! Cheers!

You can find this tune and others in Gordon's book "Gordon Duncan's Tunes". Henderson's has it for $32. "A percentage of the proceeds from this book will go to the Gordon Duncan Memorial Trust, which has been established to promote piping and other traditional music."
Cheers!

beautiful. 2 drones, right?
Wonderful stuff, all notes sound crispy clean! Wish I could play like that. Do you happen to have sheet music for this? Gordon Duncan's tunes are almost impossible to get, especially here in Poland. Thanks for sharing this!
Sounds great, but I think my version is different from yours. Would I be able to get a copy of your music to compare the two? Besides I think yours sounds better!
Thanks alot, fellow piper Tyler.
Cheers man! Hope you listened to my original tune here too ...
Fantastic playing. Any idea where I could find the sheet music?
Where might I find the sheet music to this tune?
And if I were you, I would try it out on the big pipes. It actually sounds great. Go listen to the Rogues do it on their album Roguetrip.
Somewhere between 90 and 94 I think. Certainly not Duncan's blazing 105 or so. ;-)
nice birls
awesome sound!
I havent been able to find sheet music here in poe dunk Tucson AZ, so I've been watching you play it over and over times infinity :)
I see that you're in Alabama, I got a grade 2 buddy in Mobile. you ever make it out that way for the games?
PM me and I'll give you his info, always good to have fellow pipers to chat to

You know, I think I prefer this tune a bit slower, like this, instead of the usual breakneck speed, actually.
I might ... ;-)
How man bpm are you playing at ??
well, being a genius doesn't guarantee happiness. Shit, I didn't even know he killed himself.
Did I? Maybe a few ... ;-)
I can play it around 70 75 bpm.
Duncan was a Genious. Why did he kill himself? =(
PMed you. Check your private msgs ...
Cheers man! THX!
