In this Mumbo Jumbo Minecraft redstone video, I made a Walking House in Minecraft. But this isn't just a normal walking Minecraft house, this is a walking safe house in Minecraft. Also, the leg division isnt a real taxonomical division, for example, chelicerates are aracnids and horse shoe crabs and those have different numbers of legs. Also, isopods are crustaceans and those have a lot more than 10 legs

Idea: Build this near the build limit, and have the self-building bridges slightly in front of it. That way it won't run into anything and break, and it can move forever while still looking like it is actually walking on something.

You know, Minecraft redstone is basically engineering, and I've come to the conclusion that programming and engineering have a lot of things in common. If you think about it, lines of code are just mechanical parts that make up mechanisms.

i am happy that i managed to build a combination lock today and this dude just casually builds a walking safehouse
If mumbo can make legs that can go either direction He should make a shop in Hermitcraft season 9 that travels on large train tracks back and forth. And to enter it you would have to do so via a honey platform attached to the side where you press a button and it activates a dispenser with ender pearls in it. You could stop it with obsidian at given points at the end of the track where observers would register the blocks of the shop colliding with the obsidian. This would send a Redstone signal to a piston which pushes some type of block into another observer activator on the safe house which sends in back the other way. it would be rather stylish, and the actual moving shop that the Swagon and G-train never were despite there namesakes. It could perhaps have an attached monocle an top hat in order to seem dapper and a product of "High Society" which I think fits considering that mumbo has expressed a desire to be the richest hermit on Hermitcraft this season.
You know, at this point Mumbo is going to make his hermitcraft season 9 base movable in four directions, and he could just pack up his base and go anywhere on the server with his stuff.

Normally I'd call these "now build it in Hermitcraft" ideas insane, but for this one I could actually see it happen strangely. Even if it obviously isn't his real base, he could have sort of a small ufo that he could move around in. Honestly the biggest issue seems to just be the immense lag :/

Mumbo, in the carpet mode there is a rule fillUpdates; when it's set to false, no observers, buds etc. trigger upon filling or cloning. You can use it to easily clone the legs.

It always bothers me how walking redstone machines just float once they get outside of the flattened area. You should make a self building bridge in front of your next walking structure so that it is actually walking on something and hypothetically it could go on forever as long as it doesn’t hit a mountain

Mumbo, with the very useful carpet mod command “/carpet fillupdates false” you can copy-paste flying machines, so you have to build your leg just one time instead of six.
also you can use carpet mod to speed up the game(/tick rate 200 and switch it to /tick rate 20 once you are finished)

I just thought of an idea for a video. So you know how the walking house needs perfectly flat ground, or else it just kinda flies or breaks? Here's a solution: make a walking house that produces a self building bridge in front of itself. This combines the coolness of a walking house and that of a automatic bridge maker. The house can walk off into the sunset.

You could put this far in the sky on a Minecraft server and have one of your bridge building-machines create the path for the walking safe house, so that it looks like it's actually walking, and then genuinely live in a walking safe house.
Then equip the bridge builders with tnt launchers, so they dont get stuck on anything while adding to the destruction. That would be so incredible to watch!

The only problem I could see anyone who doesn't know English rules very well having is the semicolon, but that's also correct. It's connecting two similar, equally important ideas together.
Sometimes I wonder what the hell they're teaching people in schools. I had a college reading and writing level in grade school. It's not difficult to simply pay attention. These days my biggest issue is being verbose and fat-fingering my phone keyboard because of hand issues.
EDIT: As a side note, the only other thing I saw was that they'd used parentheses for "solution" (which is typically okay for informal conversations), instead of brackets. There is literally nothing concretely horrible about the way they wrote this.

It would benefit from a terrain clearer in front, whether that’s more tnt or an added automatic path maker or some other quarry type plow. It’s pretty awesome as is, but the quarry idea might be nutty
Quarry maker is just yes.
Yeah, it needs enough fire power so it doesn't get stopped when it runs into a mountain... or maybe a way to turn directions- I've seen a few flying machines that can change direction in all 4 cardinal directions but never one at this scale and complexity.
To bad it looks like sculk sensors aren't going to be pushable. I could see someone figuring out how to turn them into sonar if yo could move them.

I love how a majority of your viewers have absolutely no clue how any redstone components work. I never really expected to be in a minority while watching a redstone youtuber, because i understand all the mechanics. sometimes i do struggle to put them together though
I mean, it's true... I play modded and pretty much understand all the vanilla redstone components now as well, but for a while I sure didnt and I still watched his videos because they look cool!
I finally understood it all, then I moved from the ps3 to the ps4 and bedrock mechanics existed. Took everything in my to re understand all the components. Can't wait to go back to Java though, so much more intuitive

I was thinking the road in front of this house would need to be flat. Sounds like there needs to be a bridge building machine ahead of the walking safe house... and maybe a tunnel builder if it hits a mountain. Literally unstoppable.
Well, it doesn't actually need a floor to stand on, the legs are purely decorative; but it would need some serious quarrying tech to deal with any mountains it faced

The lava cauldrons gave me an idea, big robot underground with stalactites above dripping lava into cauldrons, great laggy decoration for industry map or something maybe
i'd love to see a timelapse of how this thing travels across long distance. does the landscape interfere with the mechanics?
As long as the bottom of the leg doesnt encounter higher terrain, it will keep going forwards.. but as soon as the terrain elevates, it will "crash" into it and stop.. This would be fixed by adding more tnt dupers to the sides, like he did the middle, so it would clear the path and keep going forwards.. at that point it could go really far.. but with the new caves and cliffs.. if it encounters a massive mountain.. well, its screwed.. there wont be enough tnt to clear a hole through the mountain big enough for it to go through.. and if we did add enough to clear that same hole.. theres a high chance it would self destroy before that happened xD

@@NuKeRGG One could probably built it pretty high but have it built right behind on auto bridge. And it just walks across the autobridge. But at that point you might be better making a flying machine safe house

Hi Mumbo I just wanted to leave a little to make building things easier, instead of using the clone command use a structure block instead it'll take less time and is a lot easier to use once you get used to it, anyways great video as always, have a great day!
