- In That's Not My Neighbor, we play a security guard at an apartment building who must check the details of each resident requesting entry to determine if they belong. Guess wrong and let in a monsterous doppleganger, which means certain death for both the player and other residents.

I just imagine you staring at the guy with holes in his face and slowly shaking your head.
The achievement is actually specifically for one specific change with Robertsky, if he is missing his goatee you can question him and he will become angry, revealing himself to be a doppelganger, rather than claiming that the worms in his face are just pimples or something of the sort. Edit: I think its possible there are one or two other cases, but it is Robertsky's angry face that is the face of the achievement.

@jisteruis yeah I had him pop up earlier (apparently there's a mobile version of the game now.) He wasn't on the list. When I asked, he said he had a work emergency lol.

Mike, I would recommend QUESTIONING the individual if you see a discrepancy. There may be an explanation as to why their appearance doesn't match up (like shaving a mustache as you pointed out, or not wearing a HAT.).
And sometimes a doppelganger will break character if you confront them.
Also I want to point out that 42 is likely a reference to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Man, I love when Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy pops up in video games. The great answer to the great question of what is the purpose of life, the universe, and everything is 42. But the correct great question to the great answer is what is 6×7.
I had hoped that's what the Easter egg was referencing! 😆 It makes me sad because it seems like lots of people haven't watched the movie/read the book but it's still a delightful little inside joke for us who have 🙂

If you ever decide to continue this series, here's a small tip.
Alf can be missing his hat sometimes, but that doesn't immediately mean he's a doppel.
First, you'll need to question him about his appearance. He'll then say that he left his hat at home.
A good way to confirm whether or not he's telling the truth is to contact his wife. (Assuming she's home. If not, you'll just have to guess and hope for the best.)
If she says he's not at home and that he *DID* leave his hat, then he is most likely real. But be sure to double check every other detail, just in case.
(This can also happen with Roman Stilnsky, by the way. And everything stated above applies to him as well.)

Sometimes Neighbors can appear without their hat. If they do, try questioning them te calling their apartment, so Alf was killed because he left his hat at home.

You may have forgotten that you can ask them about their appearance as well as their ID and other things. So, I'm pretty sure he'd say he forgot his hat. Imagine if he had left, forgot his hat at home, went back in to get it, only to be killed by the guard because he wasn't wearing his hat.
Fun Fact: An easy way to tell the twins apart is their little hair on top of their head Elenois’s hair goes to the left and Selenne’s to the right.

He cusses a little here and there. Also he’s slightly Colorblind he has a hard time with his Yellows and Greens. If you watched him play Garten Of Ban Ban Chapter 3 there was a Yellow Card on the Ground and he walked up to it and said oh a green keycard even though it was Yellow.

A lot of the doppelgängers you're missing are because of their names are misspelled on either the id card or entry request. One step that will make it faster to figuring out the doppelgänger before having to call the apartment and all.

nice video mike! BTW, the neighbor you killed at the end was the guy missing his hat. there are two types of hat appearances, "wears a hat" & "ALWAYS wears a hat". you can also ask them about the missing hat by checking off their appearance on the check list.

The one guy looked like he would belong in Little Nightmares II. The one with the number 42. It was possible it was Alf that was the neighbor, but A rank and S rank was really good. When they come with the other modes, I wonder what other craziness they come up with.

you need to start questioning about appearance more, the guy without the hat can tell you he left it at home and you can call his apartment to make sure..
also someone could be home at one point and then leave for an emergency and the next time you call, they wont be home

An extra step to help make sure someone is real.
If you check the floor folders and phone the room the other person should answer and will say if the other person is in the apartment with them
Imagine killing Alf because he forgot his hat.😅 You called the d.d.d on him, Mike because he had no hat, so you killed him for not having his hat which he sometimes forgets at home, that's how you got an A rank this time round.
About the folders: I've found if you click on folder 2 och 3 so they're on the "desk", you can then click on Folder 1 again.
Sometimes it also bugs when you attempt to click on the right-most apartment inside the folder (01-04, 02-04, 03-04) and the same process seem to "fix it" temporarily.

In the second round he killed Alf because he wasn’t wearing a hat, if it says in the file “ALWAYS wears a hat” then they’ll always be wearing a hat but if it says “wears a hat” then sometimes they might not be wearing a hat
Hey Mike. Love the video as always. If you do make additional gameplay videos, one suggestion I have is to utilize the phone and “question the individual” features more. These two options become especially helpful when a neighbor has an appearance discrepancy but no other faults. For example, you immediately decided to run the protocol on Alf once you noticed he wasn’t wearing his hat. If a neighbor has the description of “Wears a hat” but not “ALWAYS wears a hat,” then they can occasionally forget their hat at home. This can be verified by calling their apartment if they live with someone, and/or questioning their appearance. If you would’ve called Alf’s apartment number, his wife would’ve told you that he forgot his hat at home. It really makes the game more interesting.
Your so smart a lot of CZcamsrs I see play this made the mistake of not verifying and calling just to make sure their not really home and that’s what gets them to fail so you did really good 😊 👏🏻 love your channel

I saw this is another gameplay video.

In addition, one of the doppels was missing the DDD logo on their entry paper. You have to check both the ID & the entry request to make sure the logo is there. (And maybe that it's correct; I haven't seen a bad logo yet but it's possible it could be messed up.)
It's so long since I watched a video. Being having back to back exams and i just need to relax for a while before I pull an all nighter 😭
I love the gameplay
Another tip that I'm not sure has been mentioned: you don't have to mark off all options before questioning a suspect. Just mark an option or two as no and then question. Also, maybe question more. Others have talked about the hat thing, but if you ask them about it they will tell you they forgot it, giving a clue that you need to call.

the thing is, on the checklist, it also questions "appearance", so if they look just a bit different, you could question them, like, if in the image they have a moustache, but they dont have it anymore, its possible they went to the barbers, right? ...or wrong?

if you can't open a file ,it's probably cause of a bug. i've been encountering it myself as well and how i fix it is that i open another file(for example floor's 2 file), then minimize it and click on the one that is bugged out and it works.

Most likely the neighbor was the hat guy. Sometimes, neighbors who always wear an article of clothes will actually forget it, and if you question them on their appearance they'll bring it up. You'll even be able to call their apartment and their spouse will verify whether or not they forgot the hat.

You did a really good job again! This seems like a super hard game. Second guessing and whatnot. And imagine how horrible it would be to have an identical twin in a universe like this. People thinking you’re a doppelgänger or not knowing if your sibling is being impersonated. Then again some twins would be able to immediately tell.

Watching the second episode of this has me thinking that one of the yet to be released modes could be a "Halloween" mode where it's the doppelgangers who you let in, and the "normal" neighbors are the ones you turn away. From a game play perspective, it would add a challenge because up until that point anyone who has played this game will be used to what to look for but when its essentially in reverse for the first playthrough even a seasoned gamer could get a lot wrong.
