148 - Stump Removal with my Kubota BH77 Backhoe

- In this video I tackle a big Eastern White Pine tree stump using my Kubota BH77 backhoe, Echo chainsaw, Milwaukee Sawzall, axe and my home made watering system. This stump removal is a big job as the stump and it's roots are huge. Come and join me on my challenging stump removal.

And its not all work!! Gotta take time to play - after turning my pond into a skating rink, and a whole bunch more of outdoor activities.

Morning Paul. What a monster of a stump to get rid of! That’s putting the backhoe to good use. I’ve pulled out a lot of stumps with my little tractor it never anything anywhere nerd that size. You just never know what your going to get into until you start digging. That looks like a hardwood stump. Have a good weekend!
It most certainly is a big stump Brian. The backhoe has been great to use and it's also a good work out for me. I have 2 more the same size that I am taking out as well. The one in the video is an Eastern White Pine, the second one is a pine also and the 3rd one is a big spruce. You too have a good weekend!

Holy smokes, that thing is huge. In the old days, they would have gone to the local hardware and picked up some Dynomite Lol. That is a lot of work for you and a good workout for your tractor too. Good luck

Hi Paul, good idea to wash off the roots first I went through so many chainsaw blades without doing that. I have now stopped digging up my stumps as it's a heck of a lot of work with these small machines. I'm going to get a stump grinder and basically sweep the problem under the rug as it were.. awesome video nice use of your mobile watering station 2.0 and I do miss using my backhoe so far this season. Cheers
Thanks Ross. Washing off the roots really did help. I only used one old chain that I sharpened once. I had thought of using a stump grinder but with the massive roots above the ground surface and way too much rock I decided the backhoe and myself (hand shovel & axe) could have some fun. The stump in the video is one of three that size I am removing. You got a lot of backhoe time last season digging up your water line trench. So you know how much fun the backhoe is to use.
