Okay... I really love the knight.
He is a pain to fight, that is true. But ultimately it feels closer than any of the other boss fights to a one on one duel. He baits, taunts, and attempts to dodge (if you managed to combo him).
He doesn't feel like a Cuphead boss to me, he feels like a fair fight.
No long range bullet hell, no ads. No platforming (somewhat). Just you, him. And straight up melee.
I just love him.
A knight has principles.
Professional have standard-the horse
and also the fact that he has the most health than any of the chess bosses
And he is rare chess boss. Cause he is the only one who doesn't have deattachable head
The king is like: “Hello fellow brave adventurers, will you help me on my journey to defeat my wife the queen?”
I think I get it. The bosses are a chess peace the pawns the rock the knight the bishop the queen the king all those bosses are a chess peace
@@danecagno588 Correction *Peace and *The Rook. And King is a Chess Piece too he just don't fight cause the others pieces need to protect him or else it was checkmate aka The King Is Dead and The King Chess Piece is the 2nd weakest piece. 1st were the Pawns

@@soda5191 Also i think Bourree means it's french dance from 18th century that means they could be spanish or french like chess folks but obviously there's more stronger side of a spanish.
That is why he is my favorite chess boss. What i love to him is when you parry him he coils back and after that his head continues to spin and speed up and his knock out he looks like having a heart attack
I like how all of the pieces (except the knight) were beheaded because most of them are neckless. Their monarchy reminds me of the French Revolution.

I say that out of all the chess bosses, the Knight was the trickiest to fight. Follow by the Rook, then the Queen, then Bishop and finally the Pawns.
Kinda of a shame that you don't get the chance to battle the King though.

@@ghostfighterz1646 Me personally, I think a boss fight would work very similarly towards the Damned Chess Pieces that're seen in Devil May Cry 3. The King would be the main enemy, while the Pawns, Knight, Bishop, Rook and Queen would do most of the attacks as well as defending their king. All you have to do is Parry him once and it would be checkmate. It's just trying to reach him that would be the tricky part.

Actually the King is the 2nd weakest chess piece that is it needs a protection. Cause if he gets checkmate the kingdom will lose.
Quick tip: If you need to make the knight fight quicker, get in as close as possible. Being too far away means the knight will start taunting you, wasting time for a few seconds.

for those of you who struggle with the bishop: every other time his head re appears it will bo up and down and the rest of the time it will loop around the map
who else thought the rook was the hardest
-The first one feels overwhelming at the second half, and that's exactly how it feels to play against someone who knows how to use the pawns in chess, absolutely overwhelming like a wall you can't climb.
-the second doesn't really apply to how the horse is in chess, but i love it a lot since it really feels like a duel.
-the third with the bishop... well probably a lot of people unlocked some hidden power in this fight.
-the fourth is annoying just like the tower is in chess, i hate it.
- and the fifth also represents well how the queen is in chess, overpowered even when poorly used.

The only reason the king is the nice one, is because he's the only one that if you kill it, the game ends. He doesn't want the game to end, how generous of him.
There's a theme with head parrys
How each boss works in Chess:
Pawns: On their first turn, they can move 2 tiles Toward the other side of the board. When attacking, they can move Diagonally left or right. The pawn can be promoted to a Queen.
Knight: Moves in an L pattern, and attacks in an L pattern.
Bishop: This piece will stay on the color of the tile it's on, and will move Diagonally, as far as possible.
Rook: Can only move left, right, up, and down, as far as possible but often gets used in a tactic called a Battery, in-which 2 Rooks are next to each other, so that when 1 rook is removed, the other one can attack. Can also switch places with the king.
Queen: Can move in ALL directions, and as far as possible can be respawned if a pawn reaches the other side of the board without being defeated.
Just so you know the pawn can be promoted to any chess piece except the king
