- Today I will show you how to install the MSFS2020 map enchancement mod and compare the graphics with mod and without it. There will be three rounds of comparison, and at the end of the video we will see, what is better: Bing (default) or Google (mod) maps for MSFS! Watch untill the end, because it will be very interesting and useful! The copyright Google text on every tile is a complete immersion killer for me. I'm happy to stick with Bing.

Jesus, I didn't even think of that. YEAH...flying 35K (or even 100-150K+ in the DarkStar) and seeing "Google" stamped everywhere below would simply suck! As outdated as Bing maps is on FS, (would LOVE an update on that...maybe FS2024??) I rather have Bing also.

Google will throttling you down due the many tiles download, you will don't be able to load maps into your browser and see satellite until you change your Ip or await 12 hours.
I still using the mod, but instead Google, I use Bing, because apparently the Bing images for MSFS are outdated, into the mod, they're more recent. The mod have another function. Enhance your connection to MS serves.
I've been using this for the past year- I subscribed to it to get the full service. It depends on where you are flying, sometimes google has poor resolution and colors, but in general I find google is better. But bing seems to be gradually improving the resolution. What I don't like about bing is that it is often looking overexposed and washed out colors.
I love the idea of this how you can change the contrast and color of the tiles, but a while back while using it, once I checked the box to let it open msfs my simulator completely broke. It acted like it wanted an update with the white download bar below the msfs app. After all the tricks and tips i had to reinstall msfs :( others have said they had to completely reinstall windows whatever why ever. Theres a lot out there on why its a risky mod.
And the reason they had to reinstall windows was because you couldn't get msfs to Uninstall and to reinstall. So you had to clear windows which totally makes sense.

@@flightandfind there's a few changes it makes to the sim make sure you fully undertand what it does, and how to correct it. And that may not be a fix all either. Look up the warnings on this mod if you are newer to it. I loved it but won't risk it unless I have 2024 installed then I might put it on 2020 in case something happens... take care.
Asobo and Microsoft need to degreen their maps and imagery.

I run Bing Latest High LOD and it varies a lot but in general better detail. Google colors are off the wall bad at times with purple shades across hundreds of miles. I guess the Sim runs a uniformity scan to even this out and smooth colors etc.. I'm thi8nking of getting Accuseason $25 for new "Advanced" version... will see. 2024 is dropping all this stuff in the game native so free Map Enhancement is probably the right choice.

How do you run Bing high LOD is this something we have to change in msfs settings?

From one drawback for Google maps is that some small towns or third world countries will have horrible result since the ai that replaces most of the building is mostly gone. (Brunei etc)
dont know man, for me google maps is way too great, bing map is so old, it does not even pull up the newly constructed runway that is in operation for past 1 year of my local airport. google map was pulling it everytime, when it was getting constructed as well now when it is operational.
but i am not sure what is the issue at my end, internet issue or bandwidth problem, after 1 hour or more, google maps just stops injecting in the sim mid flight, and my bing data turns off mid flight and i tend to see green pastels all over, its only when i go to settings and enable it again it starts to work, but often, then also the mod starts to show some error regarding pulling or google maps data.

I have used Google for about a month and what I Like about it more than anything is that Google is more up-to-date and Bing is old as flip, After a month I stopped using the mod since what I do in the simulator didn't make any sense for me to run another software and eating up more data and system, I fly with live weather and live time and so it's going to be night time flying, you not going to see nothing and also 90% of the time I'm at FL350 to FL400 feet and at that height you not going to see much. At that high Google or Bing is the same Xd

also you should do a full flight in msfs
On the MSFS Forum the admin said the mod was illegal. Is this true? At any rate my MSFS will not start up with the mod active.
I don't have any information about its "illegality". I downloaded it from the open source completely free and it worked perfectly on my pc
Welp, there was a reason why Microsoft had to use their stupid Bing Maps for the game (Copyright ©️)

@@flightandfind I'm flying with addon busy airport , fbw a320, and GSX pro, FSP about 35 , after using this enchantment mod , with drop down to 22 to 25 FPS, maybe too much mod at the same time

accusim seasons is great but doesn't affect the phot imagery at all. Just the trees layered on top
