Hi Adam. Same happened to me a while back and I just cleaned out the whole of the working parts and found a lot of buildup of what looked like carbon inside the firing pin sleeve. Found the firing pin to be sticky. Cleaned it out and Bob's your uncle. Still running again. Now I clean it more regularly and no issues any more.
You have a firing pin issue from light primer strikes. Swap ammo remington ammo sucks. I have multiple shotguns with over 5000 rounds through just one. Remington ammo is the only miss fires i have had with shotgun
That's hilarious. Can't make this stuff up. As a side note, I have this same SAS, the stock is actually walnut, as an FYI. I love it, have lots of fun with it. I'm happy with it for the $120 I paid for it at a pawn shop. I'll run it till breaks, fix it, run it some more.
That's how most of my days go. Seems like everywhere I go. Anybody else's doing her thing and I'm working on my stuff. From motorcycles to guns, training wheels don't matter.🛑🛑🛑🛑🫡🫡🫣🫣🫣🛑🛑@WHOTEEWHO
I have a cheap semi auto that was doing the same thing. Took mine apart and it was so dirty it was like black tar around the gas piston. Scraped and cleaned it out real good and it ran fine after.
Hey brother, the 2nd shell looked like it exploded, probably now has a broken firing pin or spring. Should be an easy fix. And Thank You for your honest videos, that's what I love about you and your Awesome channel my friend, you film it the way it happens!!! God Bless Adam🙏🏻
lol…that’s awesome! Break it down, clean and oil the action…my guess is that there isn’t anything broken (however possible) but cruddy inside. Awesome video!!!
* The trigger works, the hammer works, the hammer spring works, the primer is not being stuck hard enough. Something between the primer and the area that the hammer comes in contact with when fired is not working correctly. That leaves the firing pin and/or any type of firing pin rebounding apparatus/spring, etc. P. S. Make sure you unload that gun when you're finished with it.
I remember when you got that shotgun. I got the same one at Walmart and that was a great deal at the time. Mine still works fine, although I don't really use it too much, it's really become a "loaner" shotgun for people that I worry might drop or damage my other shotguns, lol. Before I bought it I was told to clean it really well and fire 50 rounds of high brass through it before doing anything else. I think I commented on that all those years ago. Well, I cleaned it as soon as I got it home and it was FILTHY from the (Turkey) factory. I even pulled a fairly long sliver of metal out of it. I ran the heavy loads through it and have not had a problem ever since. I have run a lot of shells through it since then and it doesn't matter if it's birdshot or buckshot, it's actually been decent.
Try squirting a some solvent in the firing pin hole where the firing pin comes out to strike the shot shells primer it might dissolve whatever might be in there! Don’t throw it away! 😢
Well, it’s not a benelli, beretta, or browning, but I got one for a 28ga option, and it has not only worked flawlessly, but knocked down EVERYTHING I’ve pointed it at! When I first got it, I cleaned and oiled it completely, kept it clean and oiled after each outing, and never had a problem. I know it’s cheap, but something I got before my browning 28, to see if I would like a 28ga. before getting a GOOD 28, and I still like shooting it. You pay to play, and you get what you pay for….and sometimes what you pay for on the cheap side, still ends up working great!
I have one of these in 20ga. It has functioned fine with the exception of the trigger pins walking out. I just put a couple pieces of gorilla tape on the sides of the receiver and the pins stay on now. Functions pretty well for a 200 shotgun.
hey brotha adam , does not kick like a mule like a mossberg huh ? , lol, lol, great stuff n keep em coming , we had 16 gauges n 20 gauges growing up n 410's too n my bro always had 12 gauges for turkey , thanks > tom !
A great example of “you get what you pay for”. I was just thinking the other day you need some videos on shotguns. This isn’t what I had in mind though lol. I’d like to see some reviews on the new Rem Arms production shotguns and rifles too.
Really hope you do a follow up video on this 1. I only read a few comments but a lot of opinions and you and maybe Paul ( heavy metal ) are the hands on guys on this one... It will also be interesting to hear how much it cost to fix a ( then ) $200 and now $500 shotgun
I bought a Hatfield 410 pump several years ago. It never cycled right out of the box. Called the company and they took it in for warranty work. I had to pay for shipping both ways over the phone. 8 months later they still hadn’t returned it, so I called them. It took forever but I finally got a real person who claimed they were in the process of moving everything to a new facility. They said they would send me a brand new one because the old one had a major issue. A couple weeks later my gun finally showed up…. It was the same exact gun with a note that claimed there were no issues but it had been “worked and tuned”…. It still did not function. Called the company and they refused to take it back and the guy on the phone was very annoyed. I tried to plead my case and he literally said “it’s a super cheap gun, what did you expect?” I said I expected a working gun and he replied “well maybe you shouldn’t”. I asked for a refund, but he said no it was not their responsibility. Disasssembly showed the roughest machine marks I’ve ever seen. Metal flakes the size of a sprinkles. Metal so soft I could deform is with a finger nail. I sold the gun at half the price I paid and earned the guy of my issues. I’ve never heard of anything good from that company. I have talked to several other owners and none of them have had a good Hatfield experience
Back in the day we used to reload paper cartridges for trap shooting. You can get a lot of reloads out of them with those light loads. After a while they start to burn out around the crimp. The trap shooters all claimed that they worked better than the plastic hulls. Disassemble the bolt and carefully examine the fit and finish of the firing pin. Sometimes the lube gets fouled with whatever and it just needs a good cleaning.
One should completely disassemble and clean, especially the bolt assembly of any firearm that has been stored for 6 years....as a collector of surplus Military bolt rifles I have always taken apart any rifle I have ever bought....even the few new ones I have purchased.....there was a story about the mechanic who blamed His tools.....semi autos would probably be even more succeptible to dried out assembly grease....
my guess would be to disassemble, inspect, clean reassemble. The shotgun tube cap it lose, allowing the barrel to slide forward enough so the barrel chamber is moved forward not allowing the firing pin to strike primer. Pretty common issue, easily corrected by tightening the tube cap.
Clean it well. Ive had autos have light primer strikes due to excessive carbon build up and old gummed up oil. It affects cheaper shotgun more often because of gas blow by due to loose but still safe tolerances.
the bolt is out of battery, not cmpletely closed the hammer is not contacting the firing pin. disassble check gas seals and rings and clean and oil everything. I had the same issue with my Remington 1100, no primer dents, thought it was a broken firing pin. a good cleaning and correct gas ring position solved the problem.
I would really like to know the outcome or diagnosis of what the problem is with this shotgun. I had a similar issue with my Mossberg and it was a factory defect. I sent it back to Mossberg and they fixed it for free and sent it back to me.
Another awesome one hoot. Been wanting to transition to my first semt auto. What would you recommend? I know they can get pricey. Thanks for making these vids!
I’ve been reading, there’s problems with ALL of those semi auto Turkish made shotguns. The pump action shotguns from turkey seem to be ok. Most common of those pump shotguns look to be made from the Mossberg line, regardless of the brand name stenciled on the housing. They ALL have the exact same trigger housing and safety button. The parts are said they’re interchangeable with Mossberg on SDS web site.
Hey Who Tee I have the same gun and mine did the same thing while shooting skeet so I took it apart and the hammer on that gun floats between two pieces of composite material. I took the hammer and took some metal off of each side and put it back together and has been a good shooter every since the bottom line of this story is when the gun heats up and the composite material swells and keeps the hammer from being able to strike the primer
Hello, I have no experience using this shotgun, but it seems to be a typ of breda / benelli clone. For the benelli 1. Load the magazin 2. press the button on the side 3. cycle the action 4. THERE IS A SMALL LEVER INFRONT OF THE TRIGGER GUARD PRESS IT UPWARD! 5. pull the trigger Enjoy Further if the front cap isn't screwed tight, the barrel can move foward a little so that the gun doesn't fire. Just watch out and don't hurt yourself! A proper cleaning and lubing is never a wrong thing to do. Any el cheapo spray on oil or engine oil will do.
Mine didn't work out of the box. It was opening too fast and blowing out primers. And if there was a shell on the lifter the bolt stayed to the rear and you had to thumb it forward every time. Spend more money and get a good one
It's short cycling. It's not getting enough gas pressure and your gun is so dirty its not fully seating upon chambering. Tear it down, give it a good cleaning and try different shells. Try some 3 dram Winchester AA shells after you clean the chamber and the gas system. Also, carbon build up on the bolt locking lug and the recess in the barrel extension. I can see the bolt handle isn't all the way forward in battery. I've been shooting Remington 1100s for over 40 years and trust me, the same thing happens when the gun gets too dirty.
I bet it's actually fine. I think you need to press the lever in front of the trigger guard first. After you cycle the action and load one. Or it could be broke lol. I can't wait to find out what actually happened
Magazine is where you load the shells in the bottom, and I'd say the hammer spring is gummed up or the firing pin is broken. I had a friend bring one to shoot sporting clays with and it failed the same way he hadn't had it less than a week
Also check the extractor. People are saying something about an out of battery det.. Could have boogered up the extractor, which is keeping the bolt from going all the way into battery.
I bought one of these around 2 years ago to use for ducks and geese. When I first got it, it wouldn't cycle after each shot no matter what ammunition I put in it. I spent about an hour on the internals with a small file and a honing stone getting rid of the rough edges on everything and it now works flawlessly. Other than the fact that it still will not cycle 2 3/4 inch shells at all. A non issue for me as I only run 3" shells in it anyhow. All that being said I decided to purchase another shotgun for waterfowl hunting and spent well over $1000 for the new one because I still just don't trust the Hatfield to be reliable.
Adam. More I watch more I learn. You had an out of battery discharge. Which probably means that the firing pin broke, stuck in the bolt face, then slam fired the second shot before the bolt fully closed by and locked because it was protruding from the bolt face like an “open bolt machine bullet slinger”
Did primer on the last shell rupture or blow out if so it probably blew junk in the firing pin hole and now either causing drag enough to slow it up and weaken the strike or partially block it I've had similar happen with a pump gun found a small piece of brass from the blown out primer wedge in the firing pin hole after soaking in crc and used a welding acetylene torch tip cleaner to fish around in the pin hole it came out and I didn't have to completely tear the bolt or gun down
As you get older, you'll find it harder to remember what you ate for breakfast. Something sometimes said about those who only clean their firearms once the accuracy drops off. "Shoot'em til they don't". On a more serious note, I think you may have pulled the trigger too quick when trying to get off multiple shots and the trigger mechanism took a hit from the recoiling action. A couple minutes with a bore scope and you'll know if the firing pin is working properly without taking anything apart.
Magazine tube is where the shells go. Most likely you have a rusty or broken fireing pin spring. Two drops of oil and a few minutes of time to let it soak in and you may be back in action. Most likely the last time it was used was on a wet dove field and some dirty powder ammo was run through it. Shotgun powder is notoriously bad about being dirty. Check that second shell to make sure it wasnt a 3.5 inch. Also would love to see that second shot in slow motion. Your bolt wasnt completely closed when the gun fired.
When you pulled the trigger I’m pretty sure I could see the hammer drop at the rear of the breech block which hits the firing pin so either the firing pin is broken or is jamming up in some way?
About 15 years ago a coworker had bought a benelli auto. Prior to that he had bought a khan semi auto 12 ga. After spending a large amount of money he was selling some of his guns to recoup some money he had spent on the benelli. I bought that khan centurian 12 ga semi auto for 150 dollars from him. He had shot less than a box of rds through it. I have shot the heck out of it never jammed no issues. It is no longer made and got terrible reviews. It was made in turkey. I use it at turkey shoots. I cant complain at all it sure has been worth the 150 I payed for it. I never was a fan of semi auto shotguns but that khan has been very good
I neglected to include in my previous comment the following. He flame seen in the ejection port is an indication of the following. First would be a blown primer, this is easy to prove by visual inspection of the fired round, scorching of the bolt face and possibly a damaged firing pin tip. Second is the gun firing out of battery (bolt not locked up) this in theory should not happen, but a firearm is a mechanical device and all mechanical devices can fail. Lastly, would be headspace issues and chamber issues. If there is headspace or chamber issues of more than a few thousandths but the firing pin still is able to strike the primer there can be gas escaping from the primer pocket and a serious look at the spent case will show evidence to the trained eye.
After trying out plenty of cheap guns, I came to the conclusion that you get what you pay for, and you are better off paying more for less warranty hassle and repairs, and replacement of cheap parts. And I clean my guns after each range session or if not in use, once a year maintenance.
The bolt doesn’t seem to be going all the way into battery. I’ve had it happen with Benellis if I let them get fouled up enough and/or have a super high round count where the mainspring has weakened
Gas rings are out of alignment you can tell that the action is not all the way forward. All you have to do is un screw the loading tube cap and check if they are out of place and put them back into places
Mine is doing the same thing!? Im assuming it has something to do with the firing pin and or spring? I haven't really had the time to look at it. Let me know what you find, id appreciate it. I'll tear mine open one day? Thanks.
I bet the tip of the firing pin either deformed or broke off. Usually the turkish guns have real poor quality parts, which is why they are ao cheap. I haven't cleaned my 1301 in the last 700 rounds and it's still going like the first day at the range, flawless. James Reeves from TFBTV did his shotgun burndown tests and none of the turkish guns ever made it to 500 rounds before some type of major failure. Best cheap shotgun on the market will be the Maverick 88, which easily passed the 500 round test.
The part where the shell from the tube magazine is ejected onto the feed elevator when the trigger is pulled is absolutely normal. Looks to be a broken firing pin.
Hi Adam. Same happened to me a while back and I just cleaned out the whole of the working parts and found a lot of buildup of what looked like carbon inside the firing pin sleeve. Me too. Willing to bet the pin channel either has lube or is fouled up or the chamber is obstructed and not going fully into battery
Yes I want to see that too

You just broke the firing pin a cleaning wouldn't have hurt and a squirt of oil in the action wouldn't have done it any harm
100% agree, sad when any fire arm is abused.
He’s said so many times he doesn’t clean his guns ever. I can’t understand why he’s surprised when they fail on him.
A word of caution Adam.......do not take this shotgun into bear country unless you have a partner you can outrun.

What he said
Adam, watch the vid in slow motion, the 2nd round fired had a flash out of the breech. Check the 3 fired cases for failure.
Yes it was an explosion of some kind. Good thing you noticed it
Yeah must have broke the beachlock mechanism and it's in safe mode or something?
I thought that was my imagination, but I saw that flash out the side of the gun too
I saw the flash.
Semi auto shotguns sometimes burp fire upon extraction. Ive seen it in alot of other shotguns. Sketchy but no worse than a flintlock.

Which probably means that the firing pin broke, stuck in the bolt face, then slam fired the second shot before the bolt fully closed by and locked because it was protruding from the bolt face like an “open bolt machine bullet slinger”
Did primer on the last shell rupture or blow out if so it probably blew junk in the firing pin hole and now either causing drag enough to slow it up and weaken the strike or partially block it I've had similar happen with a pump gun found a small piece of brass from the blown out primer wedge in the firing pin hole after soaking in crc and used a welding acetylene torch tip cleaner to fish around in the pin hole it came out and I didn't have to completely tear the bolt or gun down
Love my SAS never had any issues but I’ve never did a video of it to show thousands of people, lol!
It might run just fine with a good cleaning. I suggest spraying the living crap out of the receiver and bolt with Ballistol.
Somthing is broke most likely the fireing pin just needs to be replaced but good luck finding one
Stuff Breaks. What a surprise! Cheap stuff breaks pretty quick...sometimes. LOL
Those black shells were left in there just long enough to plant a gremlin. Please update us on whatever you find out. 👍
The hammer may be having problems as it moves through the bolt tail.
May need a bit of Gunsmith ing.
Check for debris or brass from the primer stuck in bolt/action around firing pin.
Let Paul tear it apart for a video and sees what he finds. Heavy metal to the rescue
Mag tube lol
Is your barrel nut tight holding the barrel tight to the action ? Like on your fore stock
Yup nut is tight
The bolt doesn’t seem to be going all the way into battery. I’ve had it happen with Benellis if I let them get fouled up enough and/or have a super high round count where the mainspring has weakened
😂 Hilarious! Good Fri a m. entertained friend.
Good evening gun Nation 🔫 I was watching the debate
Gotta love it!!!
Thanks.
Clean it really good
I bet the tip of the firing pin either deformed or broke off.
You can hear the hammer hitting
The part where the shell from the tube magazine is ejected onto the feed elevator when the trigger is pulled is absolutely normal. Looks to be a broken firing pin.
None of my inexpensive Remington pumps or semi autos ever let me down.
Hey it broke and you made no excuses for it... great review buddy 👍
