Having bought a Vita in 2020 of all years, I now see why people who loved it have remained so committed to it for so long. But the home menu interface and the fact that loading music on it meant connecting to a computer app Sony stopped suppourting (and required specific file formats to boot) give a weird sense that they *really* wanted the thing to take on smartphones in a way.
