    I have the Onkyo TX-SR608 and have been blown away at how well it has performed over the years. Speakers are starting to drop and the work around has been restarting the amp, I think it may be time to replace it. I am considering the TXNR6100 & TXNR7100 as well and I also looked at the TXRZ50 which far exceeds anything I would throw at it. Money is always an issue but takes a backseat to sound quality, any thoughts or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.....

    • @frommatorav1
      @frommatorav1 Před rokem +2

      I have the Onkyo TX-SR608 also and still like the sound from it. I haven't had any speaker drop-out issues since putting banana plugs on my speaker wire and connecting that way. When I used bare wire tightened between the hubs, they would loosen enough to drop out every few months. There also isn't much room in there and using the banana plugs saves a lot of space, too.
      I'm looking to upgrade because I've had a 4k TV for a few years and the eArc on my new TV I got last week doesn't want to output sound to it. I'm buying new 8k optical wires to see if that helps but it would be nice to have option for Dolby Atmos and DTS X, even though the sound using DTS-HD Master and Dolby True HD works great with my 5.1 setup.

    Fantastic video thank you. Do you know if Onkio makes an RZ, that is a seven. Two channel receiver? And if I only need seven channels, and I decide to go with the 7100 would that just allow the receiver to push more power to the channels that I’m driving? Keep up the great work

    It would be super nice if there was a way to use it without a TV, for like listening to music. Lots of great videos recommending this by lots of people, but no one says if you don't have a TV, you can't actually use this receiver. It turns out, you can't enter a set up without a TV. I don't think the Denon x1700h supports Deezer which is my go to streaming app. No need for "hi-res" and Deezer streams in lossless flac cd quality. Also, this thing does not appear to have a subwoofer crossover. Only an 'LPF of LFE' which is a crossover for bass heavy scenes in movies.
