    - 2 Cups Rice
    - 1 Cup Dal
    - 1 Teaspoon Cumin
    - 4 Cloves Garlic
    - 3 Tablespoons Fried Onions
    - 1 Tablespoon Ginger & Garlic Paste
    - 2 Tablespoons Tomato Puree
    - 2 Small Tomatoes
    - 2 Tablespoons Chopped Coriander
    - Salt to Taste
    - 1 Tablespoon Brown Vinegar
    - 4 Teaspoons Sugar
    - 250g Medium Prawns
    - 12-15 Curry Leaves
    - 1 Teaspoon Garam Masala
    - 0.5 Teaspoon Chilli Powder
    - 1 Teaspoon Turmeric
    - 8 Black Peppercorns
    - 1 Teaspoon Deggi Mirch

    Great ..Just when I was undecided what to cook for my Luncheon Guests; a toss between Dhansak & Dhan Dal Patio... You uploaded this recipe !!     Instead of making the Dhandal and rice separately, could I make khichuri with toor dal and serve it with Kolmi/Prawn Patio for my brother and Fish Patio (for my mother?) with it? Does Kachumbar go with it? Secondly, is it ok to make Kolmi no Patio with frozen prawns from a packet or does one HAVE to use fresh prawns every time?🤔

    When you say tomato purée do you mean tomato passata that comes in small tetrapacks or purée that comes in a tube because yours looks much runnier than tomato pureé?

      Thank you for your comment. Tetra pack tomato puree is used. What comes in the tube is tomato paste which is thick and deep red in colour.
