- In this video we go to The Little Mill in Rowarth Near New Mills in the High Peak. We take a look at Car 89 which used to form part of the Brighton Belle Pullman train until withdrawal in 1972. We also take a look at a water wheel, some rabbits, chickens and a Gruffalo. #trains #waterwheel #pullman
As a 'very' little lad back in the day. On the slide in the swing park at Bolingbroke Playground, Battersea, London. Seeing The Brighton Belle come past having past through Clapham junction on her way to Brighton. How do I remember her? The Pullman colours instead of the usual Green of the electric trains....
I think the Pullman is being restored, thanks for watching Rick
Hi guys, what an amazing thing to see. That really needs to be preserved. Wish we had a pub like that. Thankyou, and all the best guys. Carl.
Cheers Carl I think the Pullman is off to be restored for new owners. The pubs is great but unfortunately it's not our local either as it's about 30 mins away from us but well worth the drive. Cheers Rick. âźïžđđ
Nice location and lovely to see a Brighton Belle as well
Cheers Simon, lovely pub and great food. All the best Rick. âźïžđđ
Great video, very informative!!
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching âźïžđđ
A great survivor, hope that Brighton Belle car is taken away and restored soon. Does look like a nice pub, thanks for sharing.
Hi David, it's being restored and used as a restaurant somewhere else. The Pub is in a lovely location and the food is great. Cheers for watching. âźïžđđ
Thatâs a nice pub and surrounding area to visit! As others say, itâs a shame to see the old Belle deteriorating and being used for âwho knows what, I donât dare sayâ. I see from reading the comments that you say it has been sold and will be restored for use, maybe, as a restaurant. Thatâs nice to hear, so there may be life in the old girl yet! Itâs about 30 minutes drive from your place, but you still havenât revealed the location. Looks like a lovely day out, Rick and Pauline. I enjoyed accompanying you, but sorry I missed out on lunch and a nice drink. Thank you for sharing your excellent video of your day out. đđđâźïžđŠđŠ
Thanks Arthur, I think it's going to be moved and used as a Restaurant as I think all the old Belles were. The pub location is in the video description (Little Mill, Rowarth, High Peak, Derbyshire.) I would have loved a pint but I was driving.đĄ We are going to be putting these types of video out mid week along with anything else (vlogs reviews, shops etc) that doesn't fall into the exhibitions and bargain hunting category which we will put out on Sunday mornings. This Sunday's video is the Keighley Model Railway Show. Thanks for watching, Rick. âźïžđđ

Hope you both had a drop of belles whisky đ,thereâs talk of bringing a restored unit back to running order ,mind you that was a few years ago ,love the bunnies hehe ,all the best to you both ,Mark đ„đ
Pauline had a gin me I was driving đĄ I've heard about them bringing one back into service, I will have to see what's happening with that. thanks for watching âźïžđđ
good vid thanks lee
Cheers Lee âźïžđđ
There is a pub just outside Stoke-on-Trent called 'The Spot Gate' that uses two Brighton Belle carriages as the pub dining area - I haven't been for a few years but the food was always excellent. Might be worth trying the next time you are at a show at Stafford or when you next visit the Churnet Valley Railway!
Thanks for letting us know Ian we will definitely check them out. All the best Rick đâźïžđ
there used to be 1 at the Brighton Belle pub in winsford cheshire that you could have a meal on it
Hi Matt, I have heard about that one it was owned by the same chap who originally owned this one. Do you know what happened to it? Cheers for watching Rick. đâźïžđ
@@wellchuffedrailways I heard it was sold on and put back on the rails as part of a revamp of the whole train but that's hearsay I'll try and find out
That could very well be the case and that would be very fitting. Cheers Rick đâźïžđ
@@wellchuffedrailways Having been moved from Winsford in 1998, Pullman Car 283 âMonaâ was bought in 2000 by Belmond British Pullman who run the Venice-Simplon Orient Express (âVSOEâ). Itâs currently stored in an unrestored / unserviceable state as one of their âspareâ coaches at Stewartâs Lane depot next to Victoria station in London. This close-up of its name taken in 2015 shows itâs not in the best of condition. I have a couple of pics of it in stewarts ln but can't put pics on here.
Hi Matt thanks for the info. Let's hope it is shown some love and restored at some point. It's good that so many of the Pullman's actually survive. Cheers Rick. âźïžđđ

Thanks âźïžđđ
Stunning location Rick. Is that near to where you live ?
It's about 30 mins from ours so it's not exactly our local. We had not been before and a friend recommended it for the food. When I googled it I saw they had the Pullman on site so i thought I might as well get it on film before it goes. It's well worth a visit but it really is in the middle of nowhere! Cheers Rick. âźïžđđ
It's a shame that stuff like this is allowed to get into such poor condition. What a lovely place.
It sure is Gordon but fortunately it's being restored to be used as a restaurant at another location. When we learn more we will provide an update on our community page and on one of our vlogs. Cheers for watching Rick âźïžđđ
nice video there... shame the Belle is just sat sitting there like that... nice pub n surroundings...đ»âïžđđATB Neil
Hi Neil, apparently it's been sold and the new owner wants to use it as a restaurant. Cheers for watching and all the best Rick âźïžđđ
