I have been trying to fix my rockstar not opening for about a week now, have watched hundreds of internet pages on supposed ''fixes'' but none worked. have tried all youtube videos, none worked. THIS IS WHAT I DID: I just uninstalled the launcher and the social club programme and then I doubleclicked on my desktop shortcut game icon and everything got installed again automatically and immediatly started without any problem. So please people: don't fuck around in your file system!

after I deleted the folders you told me to delete I cant delete the Rockstar game launcher & rockstar games social club it says " it cannot find the folder for the 2 application im trying to delete I think that's because you told me to delete those folders before I can even uninstall the apps.
if you cannot delete the base "Rockstar Games" folder you need to load windows 10-11+ above into safe mode by fully restarting the computer going into safe mode by pressing "F8" onto the computer going back to the rockstar games folder and deleting it. the error occurs when ether.. A. you recently reset the computer, and one drive reinstalled it improperly forgeting files. B. you didn't properly uninstall by deciding go to the root files and uninstall manually by deleting the files. C you had modifications for a multiplayer server/single player, and it wasn't properly placed ont the direct folders/ "modification" area.
F8 > Safe Mode. ThisPC/Documents/Rockstar Games/
I use Rockstar Launcher on macOS with Whisky. It stopped downloading in very beginning and nothing happened. However uninstalling Social club really helped.
Worked great, the only thing you neglected to add is that this deletes your game and you have to reload it. People with slower connections, this will take hours.
If the solution works, at least the users can play the game now. Previously, they could not play the game at all, so a few extra hours of waiting should not matter as long as they can eventually play the game.
Whenever I tried finding the rockstar game launcher and rockstar game social club app in the program section, It wasn't letting me delete them. Is there any way to remove them?

This process wasted my time and forced me to reinstall the entire game, certain programs, and manually mod my game again. Totally could have mentioned that you were going to just have to reinstall the entire game instead of making it seem like removing the Rockstar launcher would just allow the game to play normally - like Rockstar games did on consoles back in the day - and I'm pretty annoyed. My issue was not being able to launch GTA 5 on my Mac using Parallels. Thanks for wasting my time, maybe it's the language barrier, but congrats on making a long winded explanation of something simple as "uninstall everything and reinstall".

Yeah my Launcher just gets stuck and when I click on it, it asks me if I want to close it or wait for the program to respond.

Let me save you 4.28 of your life :
Uninstall everything related to rockstar, remove the folder from your Documents and reinstall.
Be aware that this last step remove also your saves in rockstar games. (So if you want to keep them, just temporarily rename the folder)

have you got the game working? I have followed the instruction from the video and it's still doesn't load. Same like you, my game went fullscreen for two seconds then it closes itself out.

This didn’t work but I ended up fixing it
First Uninstall rockstar launcher and social club
Download a fresh version of rockstar launcher from their official site
Once installed right click rockstar games launcher and click properties, then go under compatibility mode
uncheck Run in Compatibility mode (mine was running on windows 7 mode),
then check Run as Administrator, then click apply
That worked for me hopefully it helps others.
