Hardest working couple in the universe, proud of you two
I love how you both have an understanding of the balance needed for food and its preparation...💗💗💗
love you guys! I built a pizza oven a year ago, and i found that if i heat the oven enough, I actually pull all the coals out and then swab the floor with a wet mop. I get a better tasting pizza and breads without the smoke flavor and cooks more even. My oven will hold a nice temp for a very long time without a fire going inside.
Jake is such a thoughtful guy!
Totally loving life!
Everything cooks best at 420.
Ahhhhhhhh! This guy gets it 😅
Truly BAKED!
I love the way you live, the simplicity, peace,
and the nature all around . It is so beautiful
and so calming.
I grew up in the 80ties, in Soviet Union. On my grandma's farm. We cooked on the wood stove, our only source of water was well water, everything we ate, we grew. Starting from buckwheat, potatoes, apples, abundance of berry bushes. Our pillows were made of goose down, funny how that is a luxury today. Back then they were the softest thing on earth. We were completely off grid until I was 18. My grandma passed away, my parents slowly sold her farm, after being able to buy it with privatisation certificates and we moved to a small town. And then, years later to a capital city. My God, I sometimes wish I can go back in time and live there again. If there ever is a place I want to return, it's my grandma's farm. Back when I was a little girl. To me it was a paradise. Watching you brings back memories. But I also remember how incredibly hard we worked. All day and night. I remember my dad's hands all worn from cutting firewood, my mom's back aching from carying well water. Their precious bodies worn out from hard labour. I wish you both strength and a lot of health. Take care of yourself asny way you can. You work incredibly hard.
I cry all the time I watch this ...in Kenya 🇰🇪 it’s soo cheap to live like this but u can’t afford that little capital !...too bad the ones capable, don’t feel this type of living 😭😭😭😭😭...I love you soo much guyss
I certainly wish you two well and a long life of happiness. Thank you for sharing your great life with us.
You need to control the fire so when you're cooking its not like you are in a race with the fire. My family used to cook using fire all time back then cause we just cannot afford gas and burner. Take out some of the wood so the fire can stay low once it reach the suitable temperature for cooking. Charred food doesn't taste that good after so long. I remember how hard that times was. Such a blessed and happy times too.
Yes, I thought and wanted to say the same thing when I saw it before. At some stages of the cooking, one needs to 'control the heat'. And to control the heat...if one were cooking on a stove for instance...they would turn the knobs up or down, etc. So with a wood fire, since there are no knobs to use to control the heat. One has to think with this another way. Basically learn to think with and use other methods with which to control the fire. Control the fire...control the heat. So a new fresh fire...will give off lots of flames (hot flames) because the fire is fresh and has all that fresh wood/fuel to burn through. An 'established fire' typically possesses more heat...than it gives off big flames. So in this concept...it is a matter of timing. Timing your heat to your stages of cooking.
The other part (also very important) is to learn how to manipulate and manage the 'fire'. Not the flames...the fire. When you have a big...raging fire like Jake had (cooking the curry and the chipati) it was obviously too big and out of control...for the purpose and performance that it was needed for. What you could do with that JakOle...is to do something that is called 'pulling the fire'. Pulling the fire literally means to take it apart. And just like you would turn the stove knob to semi-high, medium or low... You would pull the fire apart a little bit, a medium bit or a lot...for low. Taking the fire apart (as in disassembling it)... AKA 'pulling the fire is the way you could manage the strength and amount of heat needed or wanted. Keeping in mind that pulling the fire should be done only after the fire is well caught and adequately established. That way it will maintain its 'viability' and not go out, even when pulled apart a little bit. Also know that when and if you need increased/high heat again...the same way you pull the fire apart to modify or decrease the heat...pulling the fire back together (and adding more wood if you need to) will increase the concentrated heat again.
Also, I totally get and appreciate how much you enjoy 'smoky flavour' and 'wood fire cooking' flavour, but be mindful of eating and how much you might be eating 'charred food'. Too much charred food isn't good for you. Nicely baked, brown/crunchy, OK, but charred/burned foods, not too much.
And yes, I'm totally jealous. All that delicious baking and preparing going on...That yummy stone/wood oven baked bread...and cinnamon buns n stuff...OMG! And then you talk about how good it smells... Yes I know! I think I could smell it from here. (But give the dogs a little supp'm supp'm nuh. (Nuh...is a little Jamaican expression :). Pizza crust is delicious to them, and is good for their stomach). Thanks for the vid guys. You guys are awesome cooks... Or should I say Chefs? Burgeoning Chefs...Nice nice nice
@@pureenergy5136 that is a looong way to describe it. Haha. Yes, we used to cook rice with just the ember cause rice need to cook slowly. But still we will get charred rice crust at the bottom of the pot. But my mom love those crust (but now when i think about it, she probably just said that cause she want us to eat the fluffy rice and just give her the leftovers). Me and my siblings not so much.

I just can't get tired of watching you guys. It's this real life I grew up in though yours is even more advanced.🥂
Your videos are inspirational and motivating...especially for some of us who live in the city. We are experiencing, the scenery and beautify from afar thanks to you all. Keep up the great work of documenting and video taping your journey! Las Vegas, NV
Jake, you ought to drill an opening in the bottom part of the back wall of your wok stove, and insert a chimney there. And add the front door. This way cooking on the wok stove will become much more convenient.
I always have to eat something when I watch you two cook. Everything looks so delicious it makes me hungry. Lol
Wow, you’re both amazing for living off grid!
What a delicious meal you prepare and what a beautiful couple you are 👍👌👌👏👏
I've been watching since Jake laid down the foundation blocks for the yurt, what a journey it has been and a pleasure to watch you guys.
now you can watch the pron channel

love the small drawer thing behind - so cute
I so love watching the pair of you together. Have you ever thought of writing a cook book, with all the foods you prepare. I would love to try and make some of the meals you make... Thank you for you and God Bless

Jake is so self-absorbed.
I love cooking in a wok, Jake’s got this going on!
It’s amazing how much y’all are educated on the wild foods there, I’d be lost! lol y’all Rock! 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻
As wonderful as your vlogs are, Puma and Kai always steal the scene...it is a real joy to watch what you show us....thanks so much!
Those dogs are stars!!
just a suggestion. when your quiche is almost done on top and is golden brown but still runny in the middle, If you have it, put a piece of tin foil over the top to keep it from burning while the heat cooks your quiche on the inside only.
"if you have it", juicer, high end chains saws, fancy boat, off the grid, what a joke, living high on the hog, fake off grinders
Love watching you all .
Makes me happy to see that there are couples that living like this...
Really something for me to keep in mind..that there is more then a lease car, a bought house and material stuf...
I'm sure glad I just ate dinner before I started watching this. Everything looks so delicious my refrigerator would be empty period even though I'm full my mouth started watering a few times. Thanks for the wonderful video. The food prep was awesome. But I converted the oatmeal cookies to oatmeal raisin, and in my mind I could taste the peanut butter cookies and their crunch. Still my favorite part of your videos is on the water! So relaxing.
Wow, you guys are amazing!! The foods that you cook and the ingredients that you put into your food is simply amazing to me!! I wish you would write a cookbook!! Love watching your videos. Much ❤ too you both..
YES! Cookbook would be awesome!
love the videos, thanks again for the uploads!
You guys have made it all look so easy . Your awesome. Good for you
Spin the pizza inside the oven often with a round spade to avoid scorching the edge.
Apart from the great tucker, the best thing about this vlog is the basic lack of clickbait, just good interesting stuff.
Are you kidding everyone of thier videos start out with Clickbait
I'm not sure if this comment is meant to be taken seriously. Virtually every thumbnail of Nicole is clickbait and unless you actually watch the videos you'll never have any idea what she looks like since every thumbnail of her is taken from behind. Those thumbnails are obviously working.
@@dennywordkiller4253 Not so much clickbait when you watch her onlyfans 😁

Hey you two...the place is evolving beautifully with all the hard work you both do. Its an idyllic paradise such a wonderful lifestyle you have created....
A suggestion for your cook-stove: add a flue.
just saw lots of smoke coming out around the wok at 30:55.
A flue will 100% solve that issue.
sir would you mind sending a video on how to make your own flue ( if you know of one good ) ?
They already have a flue for the smoke just in front of the oven's opening, and adding another one, maybe in the center of the oven, will result in a waste of wood and heat; the real error here is that they have the front open too big in regard of the oven height and the dimension of the base; the mouth should have been more or less half in height, and the overall height of the oven should have been 30% lower at least; with this design they loose a big amount of heat and they get an enormous amount of ashes, resulting in harmful food and bad breathability all around the place of the oven
What kind of stove is this of wood burning, fans and flat plate?
I thought, months ago, you two would eventually stop being so adorable and impressive. I was wrong. ❤️
You two are a good couple, thanks for the video.
You guys are awesome... I just want to let you know that you both inspired us to make the move off grid. Thank you so much for the inspiration and love your videos ❤😉
Who's inheritance are you guys living off of??
@@richardjoseph8683 they make a very decent income from the CZcams stream.
@@bcrogers57 That's called being grifter's. They're frauds!!
@@richardjoseph8683 everyone who produces content for your consumption is living off the very same model. TV, Movies, news, radio, even newspapers and magazines. Half the internet as well. Is everyone producing content a fraud?
The guy has been producing video content for like 15 years. Gardening, martial arts, veganism, healthy living and now lifestyle. How is this a fraud? They produce content and draw revenues from that content. His martial arts stuff has like a 100 million views. They're doing a lot of work, building things in the woods, growing/cooking their own food and taking the time to video it and then sort through all that video and edit it for you, and you think you're in a position to judge them while consuming their freely provided content? You need a life. If this content is so fraudulent why are you watching?
Truthfully they likely have enough revenue from content production they could have another house down the street but it sure looks like they spend a lot of time on this plot of land.
