Hello! I have been playing with a new weapon, the Lucius Helbore Lasgun. Well, to be honest, I got the impression that it is a weapon for experts. But I love the concept of the weapon.
The charge shot cannot be kept fully charged, and I found this specification very difficult. If you don't use cancel, you may waste ammunition.
There is a big delay in weapon deployment when switching weapons, so if you want to fire immediately, you have to hold your weapon up. However, in that case, you cannot block, so the risk is also great.
And above all, it is an iron sight. If this weapon had a high magnification scope, it would be very powerful.
It is just a weapon with a lot of potential. I think it is strong if it is a squad with well-defined roles. This is just my impression at this point, so please use it as a reference.

I feel as though you are sitting your teammates down and having them take a lesson in patience and defensive play. Excellent game play!
defensive play only works until you no longer have anywhere to back up into. ive had several situations like this but where we just jump in to the "no going back" zones and twenty hordes spawn infront of us and we explode cause theres nowhere to run.
In my experience with the game it becomes a balancing act because you don't want to give large groups of ranged enemies the ability to fan out and get behind cover. Getting whittled down while giving specials time to spawn can be detrimental. You also don't want to rush forward and get collapsed on.
Two of them are bots, unless they rage quit after dying 😂
chocoB would absolutely wreck with Ogryn. Ogryn has a skill that gives up 75% damage reduction if the team is wiped out and only ogryn is left. 25% per player down/dead I think.
Ogryn seem to have only 1 effective dodge count with 0.5~1s recovery cd (speaking from my personal experience), which I think is a severe handicap when it comes to solo.
That's almost like cheating lol.
@@wtfronsson Hell yeah it is, and god daym will it be hilarious. Ogryn just shrugging off bullets like it's nothing while everyone else is DEAD!
@@peao010109 agreed, and when you have a Shield that has the "Confident Strike", you regain toungness every hit. Truly too mad to die

Good to see the humble lasgun done justice in this game. Love the Lucius pattern especially. Just sounds so chunky and the bayonet is good at getting you outta sticky situations

mauler's head is super armored (Carapace), body is soft-armored (Flak). They're pretty much 90% like Maulers in Vermintide 2, the unarmored, helmeted dudes with giant axes.
elbows and upper legs are actually unarmored on the mauler. try in the psykarium
Helborne lasguns have armor piercing when charged up so it will max out if you headshot maulers

Now if I could find a weak spot on the fully armored Ogryn, cause I couldn't find any place on that boy that wasn't armored head to toe.
That's the most insane clutch I have ever seen in Darktide

I mean, there aren't death guard in the game yet.
Amazing as always, especially when you think about how much harder DT is when you're alone (at least you're not shooting an ogryn in the ass )
I think it says something about how well thought out the maps are that you were able to find an escape route through almost any corner.
So good that the barrels are finally useful in a 'tide game.
Part of me wishes you can throw the small cylindrical barrels in DT like im VT, mostly just so i can get them out of the way

Most of my play time is on the vet, I really wanted to like this gun but the sights and reticle just don't feel right to me. Knife is fun though
So relatable. When you click the highlighted puzzle piece then miss the last one twice because you think you can get it fast enough. I've done that so many times now.
I hate how the smoke from the gun charging gets in the way of the iron sights..
Makes hitting long headshots more annoying for no good reason.
Might not have to deal with that for long. I think they were adding crafting in and the ability to change out sights and bayonets etc etc. So that might greatly change the meta up and make some shit weapons viable again with a proper scope of sight on them
It looks less annoying if you take a step side to side each shot but yeah i can see it messing with aiming

game feels really weird that side dodging is better than sprinting away
You get staggered so bad if you get hit sprinting in the back. Plus the dodge modifiers on some weapons are insane
@@PolarisIII just feels kind of dumb that dodge has no real limits. Reminds me of that video of link side dodging to get to places faster
Just fatshark things haha. But also the combat knife has really good effective dodge count, distance and has a lunge effect on heavy attack.

I hope they do something with the chambering animation every time you equip your weapon. I'm not a gunnut that cares about "immersion" and that kind of things in video games, but ultimately losing those few seconds of animation is a bit annoying in my opinion.
Those few seconds might be there for balancing reasons, making it a intentional negative factor for the weapon of choice. The Bolter has the same kind of rack-up animation.
I agree it doesnt feel good. Do lasguns need to be chambered anyway?
Like the other guy said, it's part of gun balance. Pistols are faster to ready, rifles take longer. The animation is just there to fill that time.
Maybe it's more like flipping the safety on and off

the Helbore Lasgun is crazy strong with Sniper and Camo Expert, you can just stand there and snipe everything and enemies will run past you and just ignore you :D
I feel like Sniper is the only reason to take the Lucius pattern. Otherwise I much prefer the Kantrel MG XII

I think it's the knife, but without knowing what the bars on the weapons actually mean I can't be sure 😆

@@lnlsun The knives seem really good for those that want more "set play" Knives and Pistols might be a higher tier play thing since they're very quick which can help a lot. Since I've noticed how annoying it is to switch weapons at times. I got spoiled with my knives and heavy laspistols on a Vet

Later there will be crafting that will let put some scopes or replace flashlight for bayonet or bayo for flash[from what I heard]. Also there will be sniper alike weapon for Sharpshooter ;) but maybe they will add it later for now I didn't see it in game only in "leaked weapons" video :P
About gameplay... damn damn damn... Senpai! let me learn xD I am doing some fun stuff on my sharpshooter but you.... you just as always make people rethink their meaning of "awesome" word.

I hope they add scope/dot options, because I really dislike ironsights. Main reason I’m sticking to my Kantrel MG XII over the Lucius.
@@jacob5700 yeah I also dislike some sights especially if the weapon got a lot of recoil. For now I stick with braced autoguns as their sickly op vs maulers & other elites that aren't carapace armored The only problem is the spread as they're not meant for long range shooting from the start x]
There is a lot of weapons but money is always a problem :P like you got money they're not in shop you test other weapons[you nead to buy them then go to test area] then if they suck selling is really bad for the funds in pockets :P
like now i got a really good looking blue spearhead bolter in shop but I am short of 6k & I am sure when i go on mission & go back it will not be in shop as it will refresh^

One word: Smooth. I'm glad to see that experience with Vermintide will transfer over to Darktide seamlessly. This is by far my most anticipated release of the year. Just waiting for Xbox to catch up.

I'd never be able to play like this in Darktide right now, literally package loss entire matches. spasms, rubber banding, attacks not registerring, special activation not registerring, guns firing spazzing out with sound duplication by thousands, can't dodge effectively, touching enemies feel like being ripped from existence, etc...I also have to use VPN in order to play :/... DESPITE THAT, the game is amazing, I've got 50 hours in beta before, 50+ hours so far here as well. Just hope the game will be more stabilized, like Vermintide 2, combat is rough rn bc of lag but I'm managing... Like, even my friend who has SUPERB internet, and another who's from NA have this. I dunno why choco has dang smooth af gameplay here...
Well that sucks, however playing with a VPN and expecting a steady connection is kind of an oxymoron.

I love this gun in theory. The aesthetic and bayonet are great, but it doesn't seem to do enough damage to justify the charge delay.
I might as well just use a 3-shot burst headhunter. Not as good at long range, but decently accurate and better damage output against individual targets without the charging.

It’s really annoying to me how the when conducting a tactical reload the character always racks the bolt. Just when it seemed developers were catching on this isn’t how the majority of weapons function.
They do that shit in destiny 2 as well it drives me crazy..

What is the strongest and weakest weapon for sharpshooter in your opinion ?
Hard to say, since some weapons perform different roles. Like the basic lasgun is a jack of all trades. While the autoguns are great for shredding hordes down.
But if I were to say what is prob gonna be meta, the bolt gun is just so good.

Also does anyone understand how carapace armor works? It seems like for Maulers headshot damage is less than body shot damage?
Yeah if the weapon you’re using doesn’t have armour piercing then you’re better off shooting them in the body as their body armour is just flak armour not carapace. If you have armour piercing then head shots do the most damage to them. You can experiment with things like that in the training area, that’s where I found out about it

It’s very odd that they would choose orange hitmarker for something that’s doing less damage
@@sbraypaynt Just like in Vermintide, orange doesn’t necessarily indicate more damage or crit damage. It just means you hit a weak point, but of course weak point does normally mean more damage on normal enemies.
Carapace armor is basically mauler heads + full body of crusher. General rule of thumb is axes do pretty well vs carapace and in most situations heavy attack is much more efficient than light attack.

Mobility on weapons is OP in this game, abuse it where you can lol.

I really want to like the Lucius Helbore Lasgun but with the current map sets we have it PALES in comparison to the normal las gun varients even the full auto las gun is top tier the helbore lasgun will more than likely have it's place in later map additions but right now oohhhh helll naaahhh I'd rather die shit is fuckin impossible to use at level 4~5 it's really only an early level option for funsies at this point (Even tho I love the thing to death)

Somehow I think Lucius Hellbore Mk 2 is better than Mk 3. Mk 3 feels a lot more sluggish, whether its special move, charge speed, or fire rate.
Mk3 has nicer iron sights, but the special attack is worse. Overall though, they are all bad. After trying out plasma gun and bolter I just find Lucius pattern is woefully underpowered compared to those weapons, while being more difficult to use.
Yep, Lucius' only redeeming feature over plasma and boltgun is its large magazine
